Chapter 1194: Mistake
Liiza had mentioned that during the departure, but Khan had yet to realize how serious she was. Still, the intense warning in her gaze answered that question.

“Married, you say?” Khan asked.

“I wasn’t joking,” Liiza explained. “Upon my authority as [Guru], [Shaman], and next in line to become an [Elder], I declare us married.”

Liiza’s declaration was unilateral. She didn’t ask Khan’s opinion or permission. It became a reality as soon as she spoke those words, and Khan couldn’t blame her. After all, he had just made her betray her species again.

As for Khan, he didn’t hate the idea. Far from that, actually, but marriage had become a tricky topic for him. It wasn’t only a matter of past sad events and unfulfilled promises, either. Khan was biologically dangerous, and that could get in the way of creating any sort of family.

Yet, when a trace of timid uncertainty joined Liiza’s stern gaze, Khan’s mind went blank again, pushing away all that heavy burden. There would always be problems. They were already countless, and more were bound to come, but Khan knew a simpler truth existed.

If Liiza couldn’t, no one else could, and she was there now. Khan couldn’t have given her his everything back then, but nothing could stop them now. That was his last true chance at his way of love, the only one he had ever acknowledged, and he couldn’t help but embrace it.

“So,” Khan muttered. “I only kiss you, and you only kiss me?”

Liiza was getting afraid Khan might refuse her, but that question made her glowing eyes widen. Memories flooded her brain, plastering a small, nostalgic smile on her face. The weight of the ten-year gap rushed to her, attempting to trigger happy tears, but she didn’t cry.

“If you want,” Liiza responded, using the same words from ten years ago before adding something she couldn’t stop from voicing. “Stupid.”

Khan smiled back, lowering his head to kiss Liiza again. Their passion resumed slowly, driven by nostalgic feelings rather than lust, but the latter arrived, too, together with its intense, toxic traits.

“Besides,” Liiza whispered when she pulled Khan’s face to her neck to reach for his ear. Khan waited for her following tempting words, but something far more shocking happened.

Liiza’s pull intensified while she trapped one of Khan’s legs and pushed with her waist. The maneuver turned Khan, slamming his back on the mattress and putting Liiza on top of him.

That normally wouldn’t have been strange, but Khan was a monster. No one could push him unless he allowed that. He had spent his last years in a relationship playing along and accompanying those actions since Monica lacked the strength to do them on her own. Yet, Liiza didn’t need anyone’s help.

Of course, Khan didn’t try to oppose Liiza. She had also taken him by surprise, but the event was no less shocking. Khan had almost forgotten that it could happen, but Liiza had reminded him of that possibility and was now staring down at him with a chilling gaze full of wild emotions.

“Didn’t you kiss enough girls while you were away?” Liiza asked, finishing her line, her intense expression crazy with jealousy.

That was another point Khan had almost forgotten. His relationship with Liiza had been beautiful, nearly magical, but no stranger to flaws. The stronger their love was, the more intense the toxicity accompanying it.

Liiza was fully captured by that toxicity now, but her status differed from the past. She was far stronger than the average fifth-level warrior now, wielding powers even Khan couldn’t predict. Her red strands also hinted at more than that, and Khan couldn’t see her clearly. Liiza felt somewhat monstrous, too, and was now sitting on top of Khan.

That situation could terrify anyone. Being pinned down by such a strong entity could scare people witless, but Khan only felt pleased. For once, he didn’t have to accommodate others. Besides, he shared that toxicity.

Liiza didn’t even realize her question sounded like a threat, but she waited for an answer anyway. However, Khan didn’t speak. Instead, he grabbed her waist and forcefully pushed her to his right, rolling above her to stand on top again.

The bed’s metal frame screamed under the impact. Something broke in the mattress, too. An ordinary warrior would have suffered injuries during the forceful act, but Liiza only stared at Khan, her gaze more intense than ever and reeking of enticement. Her breath grew deeper and louder, and her cheeks paled, announcing an imminent blush.

“Where?” Khan asked, his face mimicking the jealousy Liiza had worn before. “Where did they touch you?”

Liiza smiled knowingly, pleased at the game Khan had initiated. Her arms had fallen on the mattress after being pushed down, lying above her head, and one rose to point at her lips.

“Here,” Liiza said, and Khan bent down, desperately diving on her lips as if to cleanse her of the very memory of anyone else’s kiss.

Liiza responded more passionately than before, matching Khan’s desperate kiss and letting him burn it into her brain. Those lips belonged to her anyway and would for the rest of her days.

Liiza had started to cling to Khan again, but one hand eventually moved away, sliding over him before falling on her chest. The passionate kiss didn’t give her much room to speak, but she managed to utter another word. “Here.”

Khan only glanced at Liiza’s hand before diving there, too. Liiza couldn’t help but gasp and dig her hands in Khan’s hair while he kissed her chest. Her blush intensified, and her mouth opened as her eyes half-closed. She had forgotten how good that felt, and the best was yet to come.

Liiza moved her hand again, sliding it over her waist to bring it between her legs. Khan stopped at that sight and, looking at Liiza, revealed her entranced, almost begging expression.

“Here, too,” Liiza whispered, and Khan complied, sliding down to address the spot she had highlighted.

Liiza’s back immediately arched as a loud moan escaped her mouth. The pleasure she felt shocked her, but her mind was too captivated by her passion to care. Her hands instinctively went on Khan’s head, pushing it deeper and deeper with all the strength she could muster.

Khan and Liiza lost themselves for a while, and the silent ship wasn’t quiet anymore. They didn’t stop until Liiza’s pleasure culminated in a loud reaction that left her panting and fulfilled on the mattress.

Liiza stared at the living quarters’ ceiling, her eyes joining its dim illumination, until Khan crawled over her again. She instinctively reached for his neck, almost attempting to scratch it with her black fingernails. She had long lost control of herself, but didn’t forget about the game Khan had initiated.

Khan began to reach for Liiza’s mouth again, only for her to pull him from his nape and slam him on the mattress. She rolled over him, positioning herself on his groin to rub herself over his manhood. The sensation was overwhelming for both of them, but Liiza had something to do first.

“[Where]?” Liiza asked, not realizing she had spoken in her native language. The question sounded like a threat or an ultimatum, but Liiza couldn’t help herself.

Nevertheless, Khan failed to play by the rules. He didn’t reply with passion. A helpless, ashamed smile broadened on his face, conveying how unworthy he felt.

“Everywhere,” Khan revealed, not hiding anything, especially his feelings.

Liiza’s serious and jealous expression couldn’t help but break. Her intense gaze flickered, and her lips slightly parted without releasing a single word.

That reaction wasn’t out of jealousy or disappointment. Liiza only saw Khan and knew what he was doing. That was his last attempt to push her away, show her how much he had corrupted himself, and declare himself unworthy of that moment and her. Those were his real feelings, and a knife stabbed Liiza’s heart when she realized that.

The passion subsided. Liiza stopped teasing Khan and settled on his waist before grabbing his arm. She pulled it, forcing him to sit straight before hugging his head, squeezing it on her chest with all the strength she could muster.

The new position allowed Liiza to see the blue tattoo on Khan’s right shoulder, and she almost sobbed at that sight. She didn’t know the details but could imagine what Khan had done. Liiza could even guess why and was sure of one thing. All that was her fault.

Khan would have waited decades and even centuries if Liiza had asked him to. Instead, she had told him to experience life unburdened by her existence. That was the right choice, but it was also Liiza’s mistake.

Liiza had taught Khan how to love like a Niqols, only to throw him into a world of humans. Also, she had told him to try what that had to offer, but how could he succeed? By then, Khan was a proper alien, and Liiza could very well imagine how his attempts had gone. She had seen their conclusions just now.

Still, Liiza knew Khan had tried anyway. Not because he wanted to, but because she had told him so. That was the kind of man Khan was. He wouldn’t have succeeded in learning her species’ way of love otherwise. Khan had kept trying, despite how much it hurt him.

Theoretically, Khan could have succeeded, too. He could have regressed to the human way of experiencing feelings. He could have forsaken what Liiza had taught him, enjoying his life without her, but she knew better.

That stupid, honest, kind, cursed boy would never betray the Niqols’ ways. Khan could accept other women in his bed, but he would never give up on how he experienced feelings, even if it broke him.

That realization broke Liiza’s heart. She had been nothing more than a girl in love back then. Her words were correct. Liiza knew she had been right now more than ever, but they had acted as a curse, bringing untold suffering to the man between her arms, her just-declared husband.

That was Liiza’s mistake, her guilt and responsibility. She had saved Khan only to break him, but he was there now, and they finally had time. Even if it took several lifetimes, Liiza would fix him again.

“[I swear on my mother’s memory],” Liiza solemnly announced, letting go of Khan’s head and gently pushing him down. “[From now until the rest of my days, I’ll take responsibility for what I’ve done].”

“[Liiza],” Khan called from the mattress. Liiza’s tone and face told him something serious had happened, but he couldn’t pinpoint what. Yet, he didn’t want her to accept that weight.

Nevertheless, Liiza didn’t give Khan the chance to reject her. She bent down, placing her fingers on his lips and tracing their edges.

“[I’ll cleanse you],” Liiza continued. “[Starting from here].”

Khan couldn’t even try to talk since Liiza trapped his mouth into a kiss, and what followed was too messy to allow any words.
