Chapter 100: Dominance
Kenny
I had asked Rory to set up a meeting with ourselves and Jason for tomorrow, because I believe the three of us needed to have a conversation to ensure that we were all on the same page. There were a bunch of things I’d like to get straight to him, which is why the meeting tomorrow was the best next thing.
After Rory did that, he suggested we take Niko out that evening on a walk or something because he was still so gloomy. Normally, he’d have been busy on one of his games, but now it was like he has lost interest in literally everything except appearing gloomy. He wasn’t eating well or sleeping well, and I hated to admit it but I was also starting to get worried, which is why I really believe agreeing to what Rory suggested was the best thing to do.
Niko said he wasn’t interested in a walk, claiming he was tired and only wanted to sleep. Rory could barely keep his panic in check and I had to steer him pot before his scent started distressing the young enigma once again.
“Don’t fret too much, okay? all of this is gonna get under control as soon as he comes in contact with his father.” I assured him but he still appeared very doubtful and like he really wished he could return back to Niko’s room.
“Trust me.” I assured him. I had read up on it, even though Jason’s wolf was dormant, it would still have some effect over Niko no matter what. He was his biological father after all.
“We’ll meet up with him tomorrow and have a conversation with him to lay out important rules and all of that, then as soon as possible, he’ll get to meet up with Niko, then things will be alright once again.” I spoke softly till I felt most of the anxiety ebb away from Rory right before he sighed tiredly.
“I just wished none of this was currently happening, you know?” He breathed out, rubbing his fingers through his hair.
“He can’t go to school this way, we’re gonna have to put in a reason as to why he can’t for now.” He continued and I hummed as I reached out to massage his forehead.
“I’ll have to visit that school as well, I need to have a talk with the owner of that school. If it’s not a safe environment for Niko and Anna, we’d have to withdraw them.” I said softly and Rory instantly nodded.
“Of course! I meant to do just that! Niko and Anna are very useful to the school, they represent the school well in competitions and all of that, I won’t stand by while students of that school mess with our kids.” He breathed out and I felt a fond feeling gather in my chest. I wasn’t sure he realized it but sometimes Rory referred to Anna as his child as well along with Niko and I found that very endearing.
“It would all end up being fine, hm?” I began again and Rory nodded along to my statement, appearing like he actually believed that this time.

The location Rory selected was a restaurant, one which was very spacious so people could have conversations without the fear of being overheard. We ended up picking a table at the far corner of the room, and we both watched as Jason sauntered towards our table after arriving a few minutes late. He had a hand in his pocket and a pair of sunglasses over his eyes, exuding so much confidence and power that made people turn their heads as he walked past them. It didn’t help that he was so tall and broad shouldered, which meant he just always stood out in a very commanding way no matter what.
“You’re late.” I pointed out as soon as he slid into the seat opposite from us and he casually tugged off his glasses and pushed his dark hair out of his face, and then his eyes were locking with mine. I felt my heart stumble a little in my chest as he flashed me a crooked grin, which was honestly a little mocking.
“There was a little traffic, Kenny. Surely you didn’t expect me to be able to control that, hm?” His voice felt sultry as it glided over my hackles and I gritted my teeth in annoyance. It was barely a minute since he arrived and I already wanted to stab a fork into his eyes.
“It’s Ken to you, and stop trying to sound smart, that only works when the person is actually smart.” I responded, offering him a condescending smile in return and instantly, the expression on his face slowly turned into a scowl while his eyes darken. I was probably supposed to feel scared and intimidated, and even though I felt that a little, what I was actually feeling was something else, something which was itching at the back of my throat.
Rory cleared his throat beside me and we both snapped out of the trance.
“No fighting, guys. Let’s not forget why we’re here. Please. Keep in mind that for this to work, you’ll have to actually get along. If you can’t stay in the same room without trying to tear at each other’s throat, then this can’t work.” Rory spoke softly, eyes lingering pointedly on Jason who was still scowling, clearly irritated.
I exhaled slowly and tried to rein my emotions together. I was usually collected. I’ve never struggled to control my emotions in years, but whenever I was around this barbaric alpha, especially after that night at the restroom, it seemed like I ended up losing my ability to control my emotions in his presence the same way I lost a good amount of my brain that night. Because if I definitely still had my full brain in my head, my heartbeat won’t be racing in his presence like it was presently doing.
“I’m ready to put all our past misunderstandings behind if he’s mature enough to.” I finally spoke in a calm voice, definitely not feeling calm on the inside.
That earned me a narrowed look from Jason. “You? Mature?” He spat, rolling his eyes.
“He’s right, Jason. You know what’s at stake here.” Rory’s voice was firm this time and I had to force myself to not gloat right now.
“Fine.” Jason finally grumbled and then I nodded.
“Go ahead and apologize to me then.” I spoke again and Jason spluttered, clearly appalled.
“Why the hell would I do that?”
“For the amount of stress you have caused me since you re-emerged in Rory’s life.” I informed him and he vehemently refused, making me snort in amusement before draping my arm over Rory’s shoulders.
“You want to get your enigma back, no? Well if you want to, you’ll have to apologize to me and actually sound like you mean it. Else, I won’t let you get close to my boyfriend at all. Take it or leave it.” I informed him and he spluttered once again. Rory was silent, leaving me to do my own thing.
The only reason I was doing this was because I wanted control of this situation. Whenever Jason was present, I always felt like he was the one in control and I was determined to charge that right now, which is why I was doing this. Because by him apologizing to me, that places me over him.
Jason gritted his teeth and visibly struggled with himself before finally biting out an apology that felt like he was being held at a gunpoint. I rolled my eyes and informed him it wasn’t good enough, making it do it three good times till I felt satisfied and like I had asserted my dominance, power and control over this situation enough.

“So, if we’re gonna do this, here’s how it’s gonna go.” I began, and Rory leaned forward, while Jason still looked like he wanted to kill me.
Good.
“Rory and I are the one In charge of this situation and would be the ones calling the shots at all times. You’re being granted a favor in this situation, so you have no say in it.” I began and Jason nodded tensely.
“We’ll draw up a time table. You’ll scent my boyfriend and vice versa till Rory’s wolf starts to warm up to you, then after your wolf wakes up, we’d figure out what to do by then. But till then, during the scenting which would most likely take place regularly, you’re not allowed to bite him no matter what. Is that understood?” I continued and Jason was silent till after Rory stared at him, then he gave him a jerky nod.
“That’s settled then! I’ll suggest we start tonight since Niko’s situation is worsening and he needs you as the minutes gone by.” Rory said this time and I couldn’t agree more.
This time, Jason cleared his throat and looked more in control of his emotions as he spoke.
“We can head over to my apartment to go start.”
