Chapter 119: A Date
Kenny’s pov
Jason was crouched low, helping Rory with his shoes and as I remained leaning against the wall, eyes lazily watching them, I had to admit that they look very good he together. They were a perfect fit and If I haven’t seen and experienced how Jason actually wants me as well, I wouldn’t have believed that he’d actually desire me after having someone as perfect as Rory to crush on.
He got to his feet after finishing with Rory’s shoes, brushing his nose against Rory and eoey Rory laughed softly before pushing him backward. Jason laughed a little before his eyes darted towards me and he motioned me over. I swallowed a hard lump in my chest as I pushed off the wall, letting him drape his arm over my shoulder once I was near enough.
“Are you two ready for tonight’s date?” Jason crooned, waggling his eyebrows and I rolled my eyes, but my heartbeat spikes up in excitement. Rory bounced a little on his feet as nodded.
“What do you have planned?” I asked and Jason rolled his eyes before squeezing around my shoulder.
“I’m not gonna say. It’s a secret, remember?” He reminded me for the hundredth time and Rory let out a huff.
“Give us a little hint at least!”
Jason tutted and began to steer us out of the door. “Nope, not gonna do that. It’s gonna be a secret no matter what.”
“Are you sure we’re not overdressed then? Since you’ve refused to tell us where you’re taking us to.” I asked this time and Jason paused to slowly drag his eyes over my body in a way that made me shiver slightly. When he glanced towards Rory, his hand dropped over the thin material of Rory’s top and he slightly dragged a thumb over the outline of Rory’s nipple before quickly pulling it away, but Rory’s eyes were already a little heavy lidded.
“Trust me, you’re both dressed perfectly for our date tonight.” He finally responded and I bit on my bottom lip while briefly wondering if it would make me a slut should I suggest that we go back in and fuck each other instead of going on this date due to how ridiculously horny I felt.

Jason didn’t take us to a restaurant like I had been guessing. Rory and I even gossiped about it, trying to figure out the exact place Jason might bring us to tonight. After the night after we all opened up about our true feelings to each other, it took him three days to officially ask us out, and he did that in a really romantic way. I honestly didn’t expect it from him again, I didn’t think he had it in him. He asked me out by leaving little letters at different spots that I requested around the house, and as for Rory, he asked him out by slipping in little notes underneath his plate, pillows, phone and so on. He managed to ask us out in different ways, each equally special and I had never felt wooed before till the very moment I read the last letter from him which included the question of if I’d like to go on on a date with him.
Like I’d ever say no.
I was already literally in love with him.
Just like Rory is.
It’s safe to say that we’re all doing this backwards. Normal people don’t usually fall in love before going out on dates, but then again, this wasn’t something new to Rory and I seeing as we fully got to know each other and were also in love with each other before we finally got to officially date.
I guess doing things backwards is kinda our style at this point.
My eyes widened as I took in the scene before me. Jason had once again outdone himself. Rory was equally surprised, it was starkly written over his face as he gaped at the scene ahead of us.
We were standing on a beach, and a long trail of flowers and candles made a train all the way forward till it thinned out. Rory was already sniffing when Jason approached us. When I stared harder at his face, I realized that he was a little nervous. He had seemed so in control that it was hard to believe that he was nervous.
“What do you think?” He asked as he glanced between Rory and I and Rory sniffed, hands pressed against his eyes, making Jason’s eyes widened at once, panic stretching across his face.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” He whispered tentatively as he cupped Rory’s face.
“That’s not sad tears.” I explained as Rory struggled to speak, but ended up settling for nodding along with me.
“They’re not?” Jason continued and I hummed before reaching out to pet Rory’s hair. Rory has always been emotional and one of them was crying whenever he was happy. It was honestly very adorable.
“Those are the good kind, so you have nothing to worry about.” I assured him and he visibly calmed down but still had his hands wrapped around Rory’s face. Rory sniffed a finally time and exhaled a long breath.
“I’m fine, Jason. I just got emotional, the good kind.” He laughed softly as he spoke and Jason let out a relieved sigh.
“Do you like the date so far? It’s barely started.” Jason questioned this time and Rory nodded, face glowing with how he looked. I was almost tempted to whip out my phone and take a picture right now.
“What about you, liyah? Enjoying it so far?” Jason took my hand after dropping his hands from Rory’s face and I felt my insides stumble around a little as I nodded, swallowing a little.
“Yeah, it is. I feel happy. Tonight already feels perfect.” I responded honestly and Jason grinned, clearly pleased by our response. He didn’t drop my hand, but he picked up Rory’s with his other hand, and then he began to lead us down the trail of flowers.
“I have so many things planned out for tonight. All for you two, and I’m very positive none of you are gonna see anyone coming.” He breathed out and I hummed.
“We can’t wait.” I tell him, and I genuinely meant those words.

Initially, I thought those flowers and candles were gonna lead to a romantic candle lit table where we’d have a dinner that would be just as romantic.
Boy, was I wrong.
When we got to the end of the flowers and candles, an arrow laid on the ground. As I stared at it, wondering where it came from, Jason leaned down and picked it up from the sand. I wanted to grumble about him touching sand right now, but then to my bewilderment, in the next moment, he was whipping out a freaking bow from within his suit.
“You can’t be serious.” I breathed out, eying him skeptically but he only laughed as he positioned the arrow in the bow. Rory regarded Jason carefully, shifting his weight around as he spoke.
“Are you sure about this, Jason?” He breathed out and Jason hummed, nodding twice before he raised his arms and positioned the arrow so it pointed straight ahead, in the distance that was pitched black.
“You’ll see.”
Before I could ask any more questions, Jason shot the arrow, and as it disappeared away into the distance, a fleeting moment later, the distance where the arrow disappeared into suddenly lit up. Shock prumelled through my body and my eyes widened as my eyes zeroed In on what was sitting right there in the distance that was now lit up.
It wasn’t a dining table. No, it wasn’t a picnic mat, or a yatch.
Instead, it was a freaking hot air balloon!
“Oh my god.” Rory gasped out, mouth hanging open and Jason had a proud expression across his face as he glanced between Rory and I. He didn’t appear nervous any longer and I was glad about that, I wanted him to enjoy tonight as much as Rory and I.
“What do you guys think?” He asked, still smiling and I laughed as I shook my head.
“You’re unbelievable. I’ve never been on one of these before.” I revealed and Jason tsked.
“That’s the point of tonight. I want to take you two to the clouds. I want to kiss you two in the stars. I want us to have this moment, and store it away in our hearts forever.”
A sniffing sound made me breath out a fond laugh as my eyes settled on Rory, the same time as Jason’s. Rory blushed at the sudden attention.
“I’m not crying again! Something just got in my eyes.” He muttered but of course no one believed him.
Jason whisked him into his arms and Rory let out a squeal, arms wrapping around Jason’s shoulders just as Jason spoke.
“Are you excited to ride this ballon?” He asked Rory who nodded vigorously, back to smiling brightly.
“I’m a little scared, but with you and Kenny here, I’m sure I’d be more than fine.” He explained, eyes briefly locking with mine, and clearly, no words have ever been truer.
