Chapter 127: Fuckass Meeting
Jason
I dragged my hand over my face, feeling extremely irritated. This particular meeting had been going on for over a week, and from the looks of things, it didn’t seem to be ending anytime soon because I wasn’t on the same page as the rest of the attendees of the meeting.
They were all my uncles, from my father’s side, and they were here, having a meeting with me, a meeting which was about them pestering me to take a wife and have a wedding so I could officially settle down and start having kids. This whole meeting was already tiresome, and I was in a shitty mood.
“Are you listening to us, Jason?” One of my uncle called out and I let out a grunt as I sat up and dropped my hand, letting my eyes drag over the faces of the five men here right now.
“So, what were you talking about?” I asked and they all groaned almost at the same time.
“Jason, I mean no offense, but this is the seventh time you’re making us begin this meeting from the start. Keep in mind that we all traveled all the way to this country to come have this meeting with you because it didn’t seem like you were returning back to the pack anytime soon. At least give us the respect of listening to what we traveled to come discuss with you.” My eldest uncle finished his speech and sat back down and my other uncles nodded along with him. That made me snort and roll my eyes in irritation before I leaned forward in my seat and glanced over the faces in the room again.
“I never asked for a meeting in the first place, remember? I was busy before you all showed up in this country and I still gave you some respect by agreeing to have this impromptu meeting with you. So why are you all whining and complaining? I’m not paying attention to this fucking meeting because what you’re talking about is making my head hurt. It’s giving me a fucking headache.” I kept glancing between all of them as I spoke and they all began to speak at once as soon as I was done. And they didn’t stop till my eldest uncle held his hand up and rose to his feet again.
“With all due respect, Jason, we’re urging you to listen to us because this is important, you need to return home as soon as possible and get married so you can have an heir. You know the throne is venerable without an heir.” He man continued but I only rolled my eyes.
“Why are you all trying to act like you care when we all know that you don’t? Hm?” I demanded and got to my feet.
“Each of you here had a hand in my father’s death. There’s no point in denying that because I have more than enough proof to back up my claim. I only kept mute because it was fun watching you all try to act like some caring family members.” I informed them, watching as the color slowly drained from their faces.
In all honesty, when I found out the truth behind my father’s death, I had been too depressed from the loss of Rory and my enigma to do a damn thing about it. I walked around the table I had been sitting behind and I didn’t stop till I was standing before my eldest uncle. He has a scowl across his face and I scoffed as I stopped before him.
“What? You suddenly gonna take revenge on us?” He gritted out, hatred in his eyes and I rolled my eyes before pocketing my hands.
“Relax, uncle. I haven’t even thought of that but now that you’ve suggested it…” I began, making sure to look over the rest of my uncles. Fear was obvious on their faces unlike my eldest uncle. These men were brothers of my father and jealousy had led them to murder him in cold blood, and this was before they realized I was an enigma, and that I’d grow up to be superior over them.
“Cut the crap, kid. You can’t do shit. Not when you’re now an ordinary alpha.” My eldest uncle spat out and I glanced back at him. He had a sick glean in his eyes as he stepped closer to me.
“It’s the truth, no? For the past four years, you’ve stopped smelling like an enigma. You ended up losing it, didn’t you?” He continued and I couldn’t stop myself from gritting my teeth and tightening my hands in my pockets.
“Stop talking nonsense.” I snapped, ears feeling hot. I suddenly felt insecure and inferior right now. My eldest uncle only laughed right in my face. Something he could never dare do in the past.
“You’re just like us at this point, kid… and clearly you’re outnumbered. You’ll have to listen to us for your own good at this point. You’ll return to the pack as soon as possible, and you’ll wed my daughter. She’ll provide you an heir…” he was still speaking when I cut him off.
“… then you’ll get rid of me and have direct control of the throne through my kid, no?” I sneered and he rolled his eyes.
“You’re catching up fast, dear Jason.” He scorned and the rest of my uncles laughed this time.
I glanced between all of them, feeling very insulted because I knew if I was still an enigma, none of them would dare try this nonsense with me.
This also made me realize that in a way, I tied too much importance to my enigma, which is why I’m currently feeling like ‘nothing.’
I stared at my five uncles for about two more minutes before finally speaking.
“Actually, you know what? I don’t have to actually listen to you. I don’t care what you chose to do to the throne, but we all know it rightfully belongs to me and I can return for it whenever I please.” By the looks on their faces right now, it’s clear that I was right. And so I continued.
“I’m gonna stay right here in this country, where I’ve fallen in love with a man.” I continued, watching as they all frowned. “Two men actually. Two amazing, gorgeous men.” I continued, head held high.
My eldest uncle gritted his teeth.
“Stop saying nonsense, kid!” He growled, face filled with disgust.
“No. You stop saying nonsense. And I’ve had enough.” I snapped before pointing at the doorway. “Get out. All of you, and never dare return.”
They all remained frozen as I continued. “You’re all stupid actually. You dare come to my house to threaten me? If I don’t like playing fair, I’d keep you all trapped in here and call on people who’d quietly kill you in here before making it appear like it was an accident, the way you all made my father’s death appear like.” As I spoke, they all tensed up and one of them ran to try the door but it was locked. The only one still appearing unfazed was my eldest uncle and he kept staring at me like he wished he could kill me right now.
“Lucky for you all, I love playing fair.” I announced as I walked past them to the door and then I unlocked it.
“Get out. all of you, and never show your faces here again.” I informed them, staring at them as they all poured out. My eldest uncle was the last and he was walking slowly, too slowly for my liking and I ended up shoving him out with a push in his back, right before I slammed the door close.

Once alone again, I dragged my hand over my face and hear over to the bar in the sitting room, pulling out the bottle of whiskey there and drinking from the bottle, enjoying the way my throat turned as I downed a few mouthfuls.
Today, I was supposed to dedicate all my time to searching for that stupid Alex. But what did I do? I end up wasting most of my time in this fuckass meeting. In a way, I was grateful for the meeting. At least now my uncles and myself were on the same page, instead of always acting like we were a big, happy family when in reality it was the complete opposite.
My mind travelled back to the comment they made about my lack of my enigma.
Once upon a time I only cared about getting it back, but now, not so much. I meant it when I told Rory and Jason that I was ready to not let them bite me and restore my enigma back if it meant I won’t have to see them again. It’s been over two weeks after that and they’re still yet to bite me and I’m still not bothered. At this point, I’ve grown so used to living like this that it now feels normal.
I was glad that the two people I was in love with were my fated mates, and I plan to ask them to become my boyfriend at the end of this week. This is what my life is all about now, and not getting my enigma back or fighting for my throne, those are things I once believed I couldn’t live without, but not any longer. At this point, what I was certain I couldn’t live without was Rory and Kenny.
And the kids.
