Chapter 24: Pregnant
Rory
“What?!” I cried out, heart flying into my throat. I blinked once then twice, unable to comprehend or process what the nurse has just said. I was literally yet to process what I’m actually doing here and how I got here to begin with.
A smile stretched over the nurse’s face and she leaned down and placed a hand over my shoulder.
“You’re pregnant!” She announced through a smile and I blinked once again in utter confusion. I waited a few seconds before clearing my throat and then I swallowed the lump in my throat as I made to speak.
“I- you must be mistaken, I’m not pregnant.” I mumbled, my voice sounding way deeper and raspier than it usually is. I stared down at myself, at the white dress gown I was in and I silently wondered how I got here. The last thing I remembered was passing out on the ground in the street.
When I glanced over at the nurse, a concerned look was on her face as he asked. “You’re not happy to be pregnant?” She whispered and i exhaled slowly while trying to not let out my frustration and pain on this kind woman.
“Ma’am, I’m not pregnant, it’s definitely a mix up.” I repeated slowly, heart shattering internally.
The reason why omegas would never be any alpha’s first choice is because they can’t have children. Omegas can’t carry pups, and that’s why they’re only good for fucking.
Listening to this nurse mix me up with someone else brought so much pain into my heart right now, because once again, it reminded me of something I’d never be able to do… which is to produce children.
I could feel my eyes start to sting with tears when the nurse gently tapped my shoulder.
“Uh… it’s not a mixup though. You’re really pregnant.” She announced tentatively and I felt my heart stumble to a stop as I slowly sat up, breath bated as I glanced at the woman once again.
“I- I am?” I whispered, eyes widened and she nodded vigorously, a smile stretching over her face once again.
“The doctors couldn’t believe it. They ran a series of tests and scans, all positive. This has never happened before. A few of the doctors said they’ve heard it happen before, but none has ever witnessed a male omega conceiving a child before.” She explained and my eyes widened even more. My heart thudded as I pressed my hand over my stomach, disbelief coursing through every inch of my veins.
“I’m really… pregnant?” I whispered as tears rolled down my cheeks. The nurse laughed happily as she nodded fast.
“You really are, congratulations!”
I’m really pregnant?!
I’m really fucking pregnant!!!
My happiness knew no bounds, it raced through every inch of my insides and my wolf howled happily inside of me. This was something neither of us ever expected to experience in our entire life.
After a little while, I remembered my current life state, along with the person responsible for putting this child inside of me. Everything grew cold inside of me at once and a bitter taste settled over my tongue.
How would Jason react if he find out that I’m pregnant? Would he be happy? Would he consider reannnouncing the rejection?
I silently asked myself as sadness gripped my chest tightly.
When I glanced at the nurse, she had on a worried expression, and that was when I noticed that I smelt extremely sad right now.
“Is something wrong?” She inquired and I slowly shook my head in response. I wrapped my hand around my stomach even more while reminding myself to stop thinking about Jason.
“Is my baby gonna be okay?” I ended up inquiring and the nurse nodded vigorously.
“We believe so. It looks really perfect so far!” She responded and relief coursed through my insides.
“Also, do you have any idea of how I got here?” I asked and she hummed. “Oh yes. A few Good Samaritans brought you here. Apparently you collapsed on the road and people didn’t care until those kind people arrived. Bless their hearts.” She explained and I felt so touched, I wished there was a way I could meet those people so I could give them my utmost gratitude.
“You were passed out for over three days. There was so much cold in your ribs, along with dehydration. I believe you were lucky to still be alive. The baby wasn’t hurt one bit though, so perhaps we can say that you now have a lucky charm growing in your.” She explained and I felt relieved on hearing that my baby was fine.
At this very moment, everything about my life has changed. I was no longer my first priority, my child is. I’ll have to start living for two now, and to make sure I give it the best life ever.
I wasn’t sure of how I’m gonna do that seeing as I was literally on the run from Alex, and right now I didn’t have a single dime to my name.

Apparently, the Good Samaritans had settled my hospital bills as well, and I took that as a sign of the moon goddess finally being on my side.
The nurse revealed to me that the hospital was trying to keep me in the hospital to start using me as some sort of experiment. She adviced me to leave without checking out as soon as she confirmed that I was strong enough to.
“Why are you helping me?” I asked as I slipped into some old clothes she managed to get for me from the storage of the hospital.
“Because I have omega brothers and they’d all kill to be able to conceive.” She revealed softly and I felt so touched and also guilty that I was able to conceive but almost all omegas out there couldn’t.
She wrote her number on a piece of paper for me and urged me to put a call through to her if I needed anything. I accepted the number with gratitude and pocketed it.
As I stepped out of the hospital, I exhaled deeply and glanced sideways, and then I stepped through the busy street, knowing my life and that of my baby were in my hands now.
