Chapter 76: Determination
Jason
Rory was a big shot in the country.
He was a rising multi millionaire in the country and is even recognized by Forbes as one of the richest mid twenties celebrities of the year. I was beyond shocked by the amount of things I was witnessing right now.
How did this happen? The Rory I knew had been very thin when we slept together, and it had clearly been from malnutrition and I could remember fighting the urge to feel care for him that night.
As I kept scrolling, I realized that he had really been under my nose this whole time and I hadn’t realized. In the past three years, I hadn’t been on social media. Anything I needed was offline, or one of my secretaries took care of it for me. The only thing I used my phone to do was to receive calls. Maybe if I hadn’t completely abandoned social media, I’d have been able to realize where he was sooner.
The reason why I instantly wanted to get his number from the doctor was because I wanted to call him, ask that we meet up, then force myself to apologize for rejecting him in the past. Then I believe he’d forgive me at once because, well… I was more than a catch and every omega would kill to be mated to me. Then after he forgives me, he’d agree to accept me as his mate at once. Then my stupid wolf would wake up from his dormant state, then I’d act like I liked Rory, shower him with gifts, while sleeping around behind his back in order to catch up on all the fun I missed out on in the last three years.
I had been able to start sleeping with people after I started wearing scent blockers, but it wasn’t enjoyable, it felt more like a chore. So, I instantly had all of that mapped out in my head in a minute, which was why I desperately tried for the doctor to give his number to me.
However after looking him up right now, his boldness on controlling me made more sense. The doctor’s reluctance to release his number to me made more sense.
I also had to admit to myself that it definitely wouldn’t be easy for me to make this omega forgive me so he could accept me as his mate. My initial plan in the past 3 years was that whenever I found him, I’d shower him in an insane amount of money. And then since all omegas can be swayed by money, he’d forgive me asap.
But now that Rory was swimming in millions of dollars, it doesn’t seem like he’d be moved an inch by my money.
That made me let out a frustrated groan as I stared at the roof for a few seconds while trying to figure out what to do now. I had planned to leave this country tonight but after I crossed paths with Rory, there was no way I’d be able to do that.
No way in hell.
Now that I’ve finally crossed paths with him, now that I’ve been opportuned to find him when I wasn’t even looking for him, I was determined to make things right for myself this time, no matter the lengths and efforts it was going to take.
I whipped my phone out again and dialed my agent number, and then I pulled out of the seat and began to exit the hospital room after one final glance at my grandmother.

My agent picked up on the first ring.
“Boss.”
“I need you to find something for me.” I said into the phone at once.

“Want some, Niko?” I asked, holding a glass of cold juice which he accepted gratefully. He was currently drawing a portrait of Anna, and he was freakishly getting all her facial features without having to look at a reference.
He flashed me a grin, holding up the drawing for me. “Do you like it? I got her eye color right this time.” He exclaimed proudly and I stroked his cheek fondly.
“It’s so perfectly drawn. You’re getting really good at this.” I complimented and he flashed me another pleased smile before resuming his sketching.
“I have something to ask you though. An important question.” He began after a few minutes of silence between us. A frown crossed my face at once.
“What’s that about?” I inquired, breath bated.
Niko wasn’t like other kids. He was what the doctors he was seeing referred to as a genius kid. He was very smart. Too smart for his own age, to be honest. He could solve math problems an eight year old would struggle to, and he was only three. His articulation of speech and the way his brain works was very neat for a three year old as well.
Which means he sometimes asks me complicated questions which should never have crossed the mind of a ten years old kid.
I’ve never dreaded the day he’d ask me about his father. I had only been waiting for him to grow up more before I told him the truth.
After running into Jason at the hospital yesterday, I had found myself feeling a little nervous about the thought of him relating to my son. And somehow, I feel like that was the question he was about to ask me right now.
Before he could begin to speak, a knock interrupted us.
“Someone is here to see you sir, and he insists it’s very important. He also claimed he had an appointment with you.” Elsa, the nanny said from the other side of the closed door. I frowned as I got up to open the door, feeling confused because I don’t remember having any appointments today.
“I’ll be right back, honey.” I said to Niko who had already resumed his art.
“What’s the person’s name? And are you sure the person isn’t from the press?” I asked after stepping out of Niko’s room and closing the door.
“No, sir.” Elsa responded as I began to head down the large hallway.
“We don’t think he’s from the press. He says his name is Alpha Jason.” Elsa revealed and I stumbled to a stop.
“What?!” I screeched out.
