Chapter 81: A Bold Offer
Jason
“Are you stalking me?”
That was the first word that escaped Rory’s lips as soon as he sighted me and I hastily shook my head before he decide to call security and have me thrown out, which would be extremely embarrassing.
He leveled me with a scalding and an unimpressive look, not looking like he believed my words. “Why are you here then?” He asked, gesturing around the people filing around doing their own businesses.
We were currently at a funeral.
I actually followed him to a freaking funeral, after stalking him and getting a wind of the next he was gonna show up at.
It’s been a week since our last encounter at the hospital. I got the urge to visit his house every day but I always force myself to not do that because I was certain he’d only ask me to leave, and even though I was desperate, I couldn’t allow myself to appear that desperate.
Which was why I lived each day in impatience till this very moment, and I was very glad that Kenny wasn’t with him right now to act like his personal hound dog.
“I’m here, paying my last respect to the deceased.” I said smoothly and if looks could kill, I’d certainly be six feet under right now.
“You don’t even know who the deceased is.” He accused and I rolled my eyes.
“It’s Henry.” I informed him and he scoffed with a disappointed shake of his head.
“It’s Gary. Gary Stu.” He snapped and I silently cursed myself on the inside.
“That was just a mix up.” I argued but he gave me another scalding look.
“Just drop the act already, it’s disgusting to disrespect the dead like this. Just… why are you here? If you’re seriously stalking me, I’ll have to get a restraining order against you.” Hs said firmly and I silently let out a string of curse at once.
“I seriously wasn’t stalking you, this is just a coincidence.” I affirmed and he scoffed. “That seems to suddenly be happening around you.”
“Can we step out of here to talk a little?” I suggested and he instantly shook his head.
“Sorry, but nope.”
I frowned before I could stop myself. “Why? That annoying Kenny isn’t here to stop you from doing that.” I snapped.
He did a double take. “Wait, you think Kenny controls me? Because he doesn’t. He only looks after me and protects me. He also respects my decisions and even encourages me to keep making more. He’s a perfect alpha, a title you’ll never live up to.” He snipped hautily and I felt a sting in my chest from his words.
My frown deepened at once. “I don’t like that Kenny.” I snapped and he let out a disbelieving laugh.
“Well it’s a good thing your opinion doesn’t mean shit to me, no?” He cronned and I realized that I was doing all of this wrong. If I wanted to get him to have a conversation with me, I need to stop making him angry.
He whirled around to leave and I hastily grabbed his thin wrist. His skin was warm and soft and his scent suddenly flood my senses, sending a wave of memories through my mind almost immediately.
He turned around at once and wrenched his hand away like my touch burned him, looking extremely furious. His green eyes blazed angrily but as I looked down at him right now, all I could dwell on, was the fact that he looked very pretty.
He was putting on a warm green and cream colored shirt, paired with warm green pants and black shoes. His black hair framed his face and enhanced his appearance even more.
“Don’t. Touch. Me.” He enunciated each word slowly, teeth grinding together and I held my hands up.
“I didn’t mean to, I just didn’t want you to leave without agreeing to have a conversation with me.” I tell him and he let out a long sigh before folding his hands.
“Why do you want this conversation so badly? Last I remembered, you rejected me. Didn’t you?” He continued, voice flat and I found myself wincing. It was starting to get hard to concentrate on what he was saying because of his scent.
“That’s one of the things I’d like to talk to you about…” I was still speaking when he cut me off.
“Wait, wait, wait… I’m not sad about the rejection or anything though. It’s literally been about four years. I’ve moved on, I’ve fallen in love with an alpha that treats me well. So I genuinely have no desire to talk about that rejection with you because it’s now in the past to me.” As I listened to him speak right now, I hated to admit it to myself but it pained me to listen to him talk about how he had moved on from the rejection.
I don’t know why but I sometimes used to wish he suffered like I did after that rejection and was also praying to find me one day. To listen to him dismiss that rejection as the past while also talking about how he had moved on and fallen in love made me feel sick to my stomach.

And why I felt this way, I couldn’t comprehend.
“I still want to have a conversation with you though. Please.” I forced myself to add the last word, but Rory shook his head again.
“I can give you money. How much do you need?” I blurted out. This was my last chance.
“Money?” Rory echoed and I nodded fast, fishing for the newly costumized card in my breast pocket.
“Yes.” I whipped the black card out and held it out for him.
“You think I’d want your money?” Rory asked slowly, head tilted like he was confused and I rolled my eyes.
“Every omega wants more and more money.” I said and this time, he grinned before slowly accepting the card from me, and he made sure his fingers didn’t come in contact with mine.
“Is that so?” He drawled and I nodded firmly.
“I’m very certain. You’ve accepted the card, haven’t you? The amount of money in there is sure to wow you, use it for whatever you want, I’m sure you won’t be able to spend half of it anyway.” I explained as I pocketed my hand.
“Okay.” Rory responded moments later, pocketing the card.
“So when can we meet up for the conversation?” I asked and he hummed.
“At the end of this week.”
