Chronicles of Forgotten Extra - Chapter 145
Chapter 145: Lord Kabooom?
What the hell did that mean?
Alden thought, as he unconsciously straightened his posture.
The Demon King continued without a care in the world.
“The world isn’t stupid. It creates a backup in case one of the existing Supremes dies before the competition.”
Backup? That makes it sound like we’re disposable pieces on a damn chessboard.
“Now that all three Supremes have appeared, the chain reaction would’ve started.”
“Those with powerful and compatible soul ability and special ability might awaken a Supreme Ability. Although very rare, it’s a possibility.”
“If my calculations are correct, a few people with that ability would have already appeared.”
As Alden listened to the explanation, his mind was short-circuited.
What the hell?
So there are others with broken Supreme abilities as well.
But why hasn’t this chain reaction started earlier?
“Why only now?” Alden asked.
“You see, the first three Supremes need to be legit. Only when three people awaken Supreme Ability naturally would the chain reaction start.”
“Unlike the original Supremes, others would awaken that ability with the help of the system. So it might not be as strong as the originals.”
That actually made sense.
So there might already be a few people who have Supreme Ability now.
But thankfully it only awakens in people who have both a Soul Ability and a Special Ability.
And people like that were rare.
“I see, that was quite insightful,” Alden genuinely said.
“Oh, and there is another thing. The system-awakened Supreme Ability holder can potentially steal the title of Supreme by killing the original holder.”
“It’s quite devious, isn’t it?”
FK, that changes everything.
If they can steal the title, that means catastrophe.
It would be a war.
People were ambitious. If they could gain a title that could potentially land them the reins of this world, they wouldn’t hesitate to kill even the emperor.
I can’t let anyone know I’m a Supreme or otherwise I’m a goner.
Alden understood the consequences.
Until now, he hid the fact that he was Supreme just to avoid useless trouble. But he wasn’t afraid to actually reveal it when necessary.
He could have actually used that as a bargaining chip if push came to shove…

But this fact changes everything.
Damn it.
“Your turn now.” The Demon King gestured for Alden to carry his part of the deal.
Alden looked at the system timer in front of him.
[56 Seconds remaining]
Alden’s smirk widened.
“The name of the second Supreme is—”
Alden paused dramatically, as if he was doing a big reveal.
The Demon King waited patiently.
“Lord Kabooom,” Alden muttered solemnly.
The Demon King was dumbfounded.
His mouth opened and closed for a while, as if finding words to reply.
But before he could reply, Alden’s body started to turn into golden particles.
He was being teleported back to his room.
__
As Alden vanished, the Demon King was left alone—once again—with his oldest and most loyal companion: loneliness.
Contrary to what legends or scholars might tell, he had never been the cunning, manipulative type.
He wasn’t a master schemer. He didn’t deal in deception or politics.
He was a battle maniac. Through and through.
His philosophy was brutally simple:
Why outthink a problem when you can obliterate it?
Brains were overrated. Fists never lied.
But that didn’t mean he was a stupid person. He had lived enough to know many things.
He knew the boy he had met just now was lying… about most things.
Although his features were hidden, his voice told him many things.
Still, a smile was present on his face.
“Hahahahahahahaha.”
He laughed.
He is a funny guy. I have to give him that.
But he’s too weak.
Why has the world chosen someone like him to be a Supreme?
Those were the questions he had.
Or was he really the grandson of that bich Bazooka?
He had initially thought the boy was lying about being a dragon, hence he threw him a bait.
Bazooka was the name of the Dragon Queen.
She was also one of the people responsible for sealing him in this space.
Most people would have confused or scared.
But the boy said he was her grandson.
Even their names are similar.
Bazooka and Boomboom.
Is he really her grandson?
I’ll just ask her while ripping her guts out after I am released from this seal.
Just thinking about the sweet revenge made him smile.
He shifted his focus back to the boy.
Why didn’t he know anything about the Supreme?
Wasn’t that common knowledge?
Or has something changed after I was sealed here?
He knew the boy didn’t have a clue who the second Supreme was.
That much was obvious. The fake name. The dramatic pause. The smug little smirk in his voice.
It wasn’t deception—it was performance.
And the Demon King? He played along.
Why?
Because he found the boy amusing.
In this endless prison of stillness and silence, where time flowed by slowly, amusement was a rare.
He didn’t care if it came covered in lies or dressed as dragons.
The boy had guts. That counted for something.
Walking into a conversation with an ancient being and not crumbling into piss and fear? That was rare.
This kid… this Boomboom… He lied like a fool and laughed like one, too.
And somehow, the Demon King didn’t hate it.
“Lord Kabooom…” That name echoed in his mind like a punchline.
He found himself chuckling again.
Maybe the world picked him for a reason. Not because of his strength. Not because of his knowledge.
But because he’s unpredictable.
Unstable.
Unhinged in the kind of way the world might need when the rules are collapsing.
Still, the Demon King’s smile slowly faded.
If the boy truly was Bazooka’s blood… And if he truly did hold the Supreme title…
Then war was coming.
The world would burn, and when it did… He hoped that brat was ready.
Because the throne didn’t care how funny you were.
It didn’t care how clever, funny, or righteous you were. Just whether you were the last one standing.
It only cared if you could survive.
