Chronicles of Forgotten Extra - Chapter 56
Chapter 56: First Day At Academy(2) Chapter 56: First Day At Academy(2) I was busy minding my own business, casually swiping through social media on my Manasync.
But obviously some people don’t care about privacy at all.
I felt annoyed feeling a gaze peering down on my screen.
I looked at the boy with brown hair and ashen eyes, sitting on the same bench as me, who was shamelessly staring at my device.
Who else but Aziel?
He arrived here just few minutes ago, and I am already starting to lose my mind.
“Yo bro, if you use your ManaSync so much, why don’t you read my message and even reply to me, huh?” Aziel asked, his grey eyes narrowing with frustration.
“You know I was waiting for you at the dorms, you should’ve at least replied to my message that you were already in the classroom.” Aziel snapped at me.
“If it wasn’t for Aron, who told me you already left, I would’ve been late for the class.” “Yeah, sorry I didn’t check my messages.” I genuinely apologised, feeling bad.
He might’ve gotten late as he was actually waiting for me.
I had ignored his message thinking it was just another useless meme, but it seems he had messaged me about him waiting for me.
He was ranked ninth, so he was also in Solstice Hall.
Although he was considered talentless by his own family, ranking ninth was enough to show that he wasn’t.
“Alright, I forgive you,” he said with his usual grin returning.
“Just treat me to flame-grilled meat next time.” Although I felt bad about making him wait, that didn’t make me feel any less annoyed by him.
Ignoring him, who started rambling about some girl he met yesterday, I scanned the class.
There were still five more minutes till class began, and most of the students had already arrived.
I still didn’t have any ideas about who Nyx was.
I was keeping an eye on each and every student who entered the class.
But there was no female student other than the main cast wearing the top ten students’ uniform.
As I was wondering, my gaze wandered to the desk just beside the one I and Aziel were sitting at.
A beautiful girl was sitting there, her expression chilling enough to even freeze water.
But that chilliness gave her feelings of cold beauty.
She too was wearing a similar uniform to me.
Amyra Celestrian.
Why’s she sitting there?
I couldn’t understand why she was sitting at the back of the classroom.
As far as I knew, she used to sit at the very first desk.
I had been observing her ever since she arrived.
But the more I observed her, the more her smile from that day seemed like an illusion.

‘She hadn’t even looked at me even once ever since she arrived.’ Well, it doesn’t matter that much, as I didn’t feel that overwhelming feeling today.
It wasn’t like I didn’t feel anything…but it was just that I could control it today.
SHIT Just as I was staring at her, she suddenly turned, catching me in the act.
Her expression turned annoyed, and just as she opened her mouth about to mutter something, a deep voice interrupted her.
‘Thank god.’ I quickly turned towards the centre of class, ignoring Amyra completely.
“Attention” A man seemingly in his mid-twenties walked into the class, his very presence commanding attention.
He had a muscular build.
A long scar ran straight from his eye to his jaw.
The scar added to his already intimidating look.
He looked less like a teacher and more like a war-hardened veteran.
‘The f*ck’ I was already expecting many changes due to the mess I created but for even the teacher to be changed as well.
‘It seems the story has already diverted too much from its original path.’ I was hoping at least some events would be the same.
But I wasn’t sure about them anymore.
In the novel, our homeroom teacher was supposed to be a stunning beauty, the kind of woman you would find in fashion magazines.
I still remembered the excessive descriptions of her mentioned in the book.
Her flowing hair, piercing eyes.
A well-proportionate figure that could even make the most disciplined person lose his composure.
I have been preparing myself, excited to see her in real life.
‘But just my bad luck that I get to see some f*cking gangster instead of a hot lady.’ “Good morning, I am Sorin Valcrest, your homeroom teacher.” I was puzzled as I didn’t even know who the teacher was supposed to be….
It was the first time I had even heard his name.
He was probably just another extra.
Unbeknownst to my racing thoughts, Sorin stood at the podium, his calm gaze scanning through class.
He looked at each student, his gaze pausing on the students with black uniforms as a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
But the smile soon changed to a frown once he scanned the class completely.
And I could understand the reason.
Because two of the top ten students had not arrived yet.
I didn’t know anything about Nyx, but Lucien…
why had he not arrived yet?
He was a punctual type of person.
But before I could think anything more, Sorin’s sound resounded again.
“I don’t care if you’re a commoner or a noble.
Just behave in my class.” “I’ll take attendance before starting the class,” Sorin said.

The teacher called again.
“Rank 3-Lucien Celestrian” Still no response.
That was… too odd.
Lucien wasn’t the type to be late.
He was diligent, almost annoyingly so.
“Rank 2-Amyra Celestrian.” “Present” The teacher finally called the name of the first-ranking student.
“Rank 1-Nyx Ravenscar” There was no response.
“Rank 1-Nyx Ravenscar.” “Present.” I heard the voice coming from just behind me.
My heart skipped a beat.
When did she get there?
I was keeping my eyes on each and every student who entered the class.
But I had not seen or even felt even a single student sit at the last bench.
I slowly turned around to look at who she was.
And I saw her.
She was breathtaking.
Her jet-black hair, reminiscent of the night sky.
Her eyes were an impossible shade of blue, seeming to hold secrets the world wasn’t ready to know.(Check paragraph comment) It seemed as if she could see through the fabric of reality.
Her body, devoid of any blemishes, was pale and flawless.
She looked like an angel descended from heaven into the mortal realm.
But rather than admiring her beauty, my mind was focused on analysing her.
She was a complete unknown for me.
No mention in the novel.
No information on any social media.
It was as if she popped up from thin air.
Feeling my gaze, she looked at me for a moment before ignoring me as if I was another fool dazed by her beauty.
But before I could say anything.
An eerie sensation washed through me.
The hairs on my body stood up.
I felt an unknown shiver run through my spine.
I quickly turned around, scanning the whole class for what I felt.
But nothing.
I didn’t see anyone looking at me.
“Crack” Just then I heard a soft sound of cracking from one of the benches on my right side.
I turned around and saw Amyra’s pen broken in half.
‘Huh, what’s wrong with her?’ She still had the same unreadable and icy expressions.
But I could see her lips twitching.
Which for some reason I found cute.
I scanned the whole class again, but I still didn’t find the reason as to why I felt the shivers.
‘What was that?’ Sorin’s loud voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
“As this is the first day, there will be no practical classes today.” “BAM” Just as he was speaking, a loud voice of door opening interrupted him.
“May I come in, sir?” All the students turned their heads toward the entrance.
A boy stood there casually, his white hair a bit dishevelled, his violet eyes slightly unfocused.
His academy uniform was untidy, as if he had rushed to put it on.
Lucien.
What the heck?
I couldn’t believe my sight, Lucien wasn’t the one to be so dishevelled.
“Why are you late?” Sorin asked, his voice calm but firm.
“I’m sorry, sir,” Lucien didn’t state the reason and just apologised.
“This is the first day, so I’ll allow it,” Sorin said as if warning all students.
“But from tomorrow onwards, anyone coming late will receive a penalty point.” ___________ Lucien muttered another quiet apology before entering the class.
He quickly walked off towards a bench on the front side where Seles was sitting as he sat beside her.
I watched him Something was wrong.
Lucien wasn’t supposed to be like this.
Our homeroom teacher wasn’t supposed to be him.
Nyx Ravenscar wasn’t supposed to exist.
The plot had already started to fall apart, piece by piece, and I was no longer sure if the events in the novel would even happen or not.
But rather than feeling any fear, I felt a strange thrill surge through me.
I leaned back in my seat as a small smirk appeared on my face.
This was no longer the story I had read.
It was something new.
Something unpredictable.
And I am not just an extra anymore but a main player within this story.
I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.
