Unbeknownst to her, this transformation was an illusion crafted by Aiden. Using his Death Dragon spirit, he had subtly altered her perception and fabricated her spirit’s skills to appear at a lower level. Aiden had done this to protect her and to give her a chance to grow without overwhelming pressure or rather many assassination attempts on her life, that would have happened if her real spirit were to be revealed to world.

Aiden nodded and continued to gaze at the arena.

“But I never liked her,” the old man suddenly said.

Aiden tilted his head and asked why.

“Because she was the least talented among her brothers and sisters, and she was too ambitious. She seduced Orion for the same reason—Orion, being the only child of our previous king, was destined to be king. She married him to become queen,” the old man said.
