Chapter 108: Chapter 107- Carnage(1)
*Dhak*
Austin’s eyes snapped open as he felt the ground trembling.
He instantly straightened his back and found Valerie standing near the window, “Val?” He called out.
However, before Valerie could have responded, someone knocked on the door.
Valerie closed her mouth and instantly went to open the door, “Sebastian.” She called out with a frown
The older one gave a short bow before he entered inside wordlessly, and stood before Austin, “Young Lord, the city is under attack.”
It was unusual for Sebastian to sound so anxious, however, the news was quite severe and quite unexpected.
“The demonic army has attacked Drenovar from the ocean. And the one leading the army seems to be a Demon General.”
Austin had a severe frown on his face. This was unexpected. He couldn’t have thought that a demon army could have suddenly attacked Drenovar out of the blue. And not just any passing army, but under a Demon General.
‘Did the canon event get pushed early?’ Austin remembers that during the tournament, the venue gets attacked by an army of Demonic beasts, led by General Zeverath.
“Sebastian…did you see the Demon General? Did he have long red horns and chains around his neck?”
Sebastian was taken aback, “Yes…but how do you know, sir?”
As he thought! The three demons were also sent by Zevarath. He has been planning on taking numerous talented humans under his domain and corrupting them to prepare for an army.
However, why in the world did he attack early? Was it because of the failed attempt? But didn’t the demon fail canonically as well?
‘No, this isn’t the time.’ Austin couldn’t dwell on the thoughts. He couldn’t compare the reality with what he had seen in the game.
“What is the situation at the Hellstain?”
“Because of all the chaos, the Union Council member and a heavy amount of Drenovar’s forces have been handling the situation at the shore. And because of that, several demons of Hellstain have broken the barricade and have infected several soldiers.”
Austin clicked his tongue. The situation was truly messed up.
The demonized humans would continue to grow and in no time, they would start infecting the citizens—turning Drenovar into ruins.
The most unfortunate part was the heavy clouds surrounding Drenovar, with a light drizzle falling over the capital. With no sunlight to weaken the demons, the city stood defenseless against them.
‘This is bad….if things continued like this then humanity would lose one of their pillars…’
Taking the decision, Austin turned towards Sebastian, “Sebas, things have changed. Now we need to handle the situation first.”
Sebastian heaved a sigh of relief. For a moment, he wondered if his Lord would let Drenovar suffer since that would benefit Eryndor. But his young master hasn’t turned apathetic.
“You need to get rid of all the demonized humans who have broken the barrier. Just don’t let them reach the public.” Considering Sebastian’s agility and assassination skills, he was the perfect man for the job.
“Understood, sir.”
Turning towards Valerie, Austin said, “Valerie, you need to go and check the shore for the situation. If you think they can handle the demons, then don’t interfere. But if they can’t….”
“I understand.” Valerie nodded.
Austin was feeling a bit complicated about it. The Demon General was on S-rank on human scales, however, with much more experience than any other humans. That’s why, sending her to the Shore was dangerous.
“Young master, what about you?” Sebastian asked….if possible, the butler wanted the young master to stay in the motel. And Valerie would agree instantly.
However, “I am going to the Hellstain and keep an eye on the monsters which awaken. The presence of other demons must have accelerated the awakening.”

Sebastian looked concerned, “Please be safe out there, my Lord.” Saying so, he excused himself and went towards the city.
Turning toward Valerie, Austin was hugged immediately as he heard her, “The only way I can avoid making mistakes, is when I know that you are safe. So please, take care.”
Austin hummed, “I will…so please don’t do anything reckless and only intervene when it’s necessary.”
The duo looked into each other’s eyes before Valerie closed her eyes and leaned forward.
Austin didn’t think twice before kissing the girl, their lips meeting in a brief contact before parting.
“Best of luck, Val.”

After parting ways with Austin, Valerie advanced toward the shore.
As she advanced, she could feel the profound presence of the demonic creatures from the shore.
“If I am not wrong, they haven’t sent a single S-rank from the council,” Valerie muttered to herself as she kept jumping from one building to another.
The S-rank warriors are the defense pillars of the Union Council and always remain in the headquarters. For the threat of a Hellstain, it was not unnatural for them to send only low-ranking officers.
However, this was a national-level crisis and without any proper defense against the danger, it would be quite difficult to save Drenovar from its possible demise.
“Oh Lord…” The moment Valerie’s eyes caught the sight of the scene, her mind went blank for a moment, and a shiver ran down her spine.
More than thirty demonic beasts surged from the water, their massive bodies crashing into the defenses like living battering rams. Thick, scaled limbs shattered stone walls, while jagged teeth tore through flesh and armor alike. The soldiers fought desperately, but they were drowning in a tide of horror.
Screams filled the air—some cut short, others stretching into agonized wails as men were crushed, ripped apart, or dragged beneath the bloodied waves. Smaller beasts swarmed through the chaos, pouncing on fallen warriors, their claws carving through flesh as they feasted. The scent of blood mixed with the salty wind was thick and suffocating.
A soldier stumbled back, eyes wide with terror, only for a massive claw to clamp around his torso. His scream barely left his lips before he was yanked into the darkness of a beast’s maw, bones crunching like dry twigs.
The line was breaking. The defenses were crumbling. And the demons were still coming.

After leaving the motel, Sebastian decided to move through the streets and help the citizens to evacuate.
There was no guarantee that the demons from the demonic lands could be defeated any time soon. But they at least are limited to a certain extent. However, the demonized humans are growing rapidly. If it continues then no place within Drenovar would be safe.
“Ah!” A woman suddenly fell while running away.
“*KHEEEUGH*” The demonic human was just above her, inches away from tearing her life.
Sebastian instantly moved toward her and slashed his short sword to behead the demonized humans.
He didn’t stop there; moving in practiced motion he slaughtered the demon thoroughly into bits and pieces until it lost its strength to recover.
Looking at the woman, he offered his hand before suggesting, “Run toward the south. The capital guards have prepared a safe shelter.”
The woman continued to thank him until the very end before she ran away as suggested.
“*KHUEEEGH*”
Sebastian heaved a sigh as he turned towards the horde of demons.
“This reminds me of the good old days of hunting.”

Austin reached the spot from where he had been keeping an eye on Hellstain….but the scene awaiting him this time was quite despairing.
‘Even the army of Drenovar couldn’t resist the demonic waves….’ The Hellstain in Drenovar was quite huge, which explains why so many demons are being spilled out.
Soldiers were trying to fend off the danger by launching several spells at once; however, because of the natural resistance against magic and their ridiculous regeneration, the demons were recovering quickly.
Some soldiers were running away, some were getting eaten alive.
The human barricade that was formed around the palace was having a hard time fighting against the demons and demonized humans as well.
Dozens of demonized humans are advancing toward the towns and chasing after civilians.
‘I should help…’
Austin was thinking of advancing towards the Hellstain…when suddenly, a big ripple arrived from the Hellstain.
The stain began to pulse—slow, heavy beats, like a heart too large for this world. Ominous light seeped from its depths, and suddenly, the ground came alive. Soldiers near the stain screamed as an invisible force yanked them forward. Their bodies twisted, flesh peeling from their bones the moment they touched the stain. Their cries ended in wet, sickening gurgles.
‘Is it…’ Austin’s throat became dry in anxiety as he saw long fissures appearing on the surface, the ground trembling under the presence of the being that was about to awaken.
The earth trembled, then bulged upward, splitting like rotten flesh. A massive claw, black and glistening, tore free from the stain, followed by another. The air reeked of sulfur and rotting meat as the creature dragged itself into the world.
A monstrous head emerged, splitting into three, its skull twisted and uneven, with empty sockets that suddenly flared with a sickly red glow. Its maw split open—not like a mouth, but like a wound tearing further, lined with writhing tendrils dripping black sludge.
Huge claws that could crush several humans at once, and bent hind limbs. Chains were falling from the creatures’ three necks.
The being awakens out of the blood of the Demon Lord. A hell resident has appeared.
