Chapter 122: Chapter 121- Promise
Thanks to Harold’s guidance and the fact that each one of them was superhuman, they reached the academy by afternoon.

Naturally, they didn’t take a break en route, even though Harold suggested, and just when the sun advanced toward the horizon, their horses entered the school premises.

Harold instantly bolted toward the headmaster’s office after telling the group,

“Reach the auditorium by five on the clock. Don’t be late.”

Since there were two hours left Rhea said, “I will go and freshen up. Too sweaty.” Her shoulders slumped and her eyes appeared droopy, making her seem adorable.

Rudolph didn’t miss the chance to pinch her cheek, making Rhea grumble but too weak to fight him, before he said, “Take an hour of nap as well. I will come wake you up.”

Rhea sneered, “Even if it’s you, it is impossible for you to breach the security and fool our dorm warden.”

When she said that, Austin turned stiff momentarily…he easily bypassed the security with his fiancée’s help and reached her room. Well, not like he was going to tell them.

“Young master, should I prepare the bath for you?” Sebastian suddenly asked.

Austin shook his head, “You are tired too, rather you go and take a bath first in my room and take rest.” The bathroom in Austin’s office, where Sebastian stays, has a very small bathroom and barely anyone can relax while taking a bath there.

The older one smiled—meaning he wasn’t going to—before he bid farewell and moved toward the male dorms.

Austin sighed before he turned toward Valerie…who was strangely holding the mare that Austin was riding.

“What happened?” Austin smilingly asked.

“She is just too fond of you, hush.” She drove the mare away before turning her focus to her Lord, “Are you tired?”

Austin tilted his head, stretching his neck slightly as he said, “Some soreness but not too much. Will probably get back in shape by tomorrow…hmm?” Austin’s brows elevated as he saw his beloved’s face turning red for some reason.

“Everything good?”

He asked which caused the girl to panic, “Y-Y-Yes…I-I am c-c-co-completely fine…”

Austin didn’t know why but Valerie appeared really shy about something.

Well, if only he had a mind-reading skill, he would have been blushing as well.

The duo also decided to head back to their rooms and relax for the time being.

Austin was, actually, quite tired after the journey. Although his endurance has increased, it would take some time for him to get used to riding horses.

However, this time he didn’t make any foolish mistake by entering a dungeon to relax a bit. That was one lame idea at that time.

Entering the room, he breathed a long breath of relief.

Home sweet home.

Although he has been living here for like a little over one month, he has gotten quite fond of this place.

The bed in the capital was too comfortable and without his Valerie, it felt quite empty.

Getting rid of his sweaty clothes, he opened the door of the bathroom and found that Sebastian had already prepared the bath.

The hot steam coming out of the bathing pool invited his whole being to dive in it, and as such, he didn’t hold back.

“Haah~” A loud exhale of relief escaped his throat as Austin finally found his sore and uncomfortable body, attaining some comfort.

His muscles and bones felt like they were in heaven, and his mind gained some much-needed relief.

Resting his neck against the bundle-up towel, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the bath.

A lot has happened in these few days. Although it cannot be said that he didn’t expect such a long and tiring journey, to think he would get rid of that plague named Aiden during this short trip was completely unexpected.

Unexpected but welcomed.

He had to get rid of Aiden somehow, so it’s all good.

He also got to realize how strong the system was when Austin nearly got killed by the demon but was saved by the miraculous ability of the system

Using the skills and boosts Austin would receive in the future…somehow, it sounded overpowered but problematic at the same time.

Imagine having the ability to face immense heat but because his body already used it, Austin would be left defenseless.

Around five, Austin walked out of his room, all freshened up and wearing the usual uniform of the academy.

“Good evening, Young Master. Would you like to have some tea?” Outside his room, Sebastian stood. He was about to knock when suddenly Austin stepped out.

Austin shook, “Although I am quite tempted, I need to reach the ceremonial hall. See you later, Sebas.”

“Take care, young lord.”

Bidding farewell, Austin stepped out of the dormitory and found several students heading toward the ceremonial hall—which was built on the left side of the main building.

Austin thought to reach the hall and wait for Valerie, but then, after taking a few steps, he found his girl standing near the fountain—the exact same place where she waits for him every morning in that same uniform.

Maybe because he saw her in that dress after a long time, Austin felt his heart rate going up a bit.

Although the sweat-bathed Valerie was a sight for sore eyes, this freshly out-of-bath Valerie, who had done slight makeup and braided her hair, also appeared quite lovely.

“Sorry for making you wait.” He called out as he approached the girl.

“I also arrived just now.” She said that but Austin hardly believed that to be true.

Once, he came an hour before their appointment time and found her waiting for him. Although he forbade her from punishing herself like this, he doesn’t think that she has changed.

“You look quite lovely. You painted your nails? They look gorgeous.”

Valerie blushed, she didn’t think he would notice it right away.

As a warrior, she doesn’t prefer to paint her nails and use her time to do makeup. However, since today she had time and she wanted to impress her Lord, she applied light nail paint.

“Thank you…” With a smile that made him feel more comfortable than the bath he had, she spoke.

They soon departed together, heading towards the ceremonial hall with their hands connected.

Only those students who had been selected as participants in the tournament were invited to the gathering.

Austin met by several gazes—the news regarding Aiden must have reached them by now.

Some were whispering, and some were nudging their friends before signaling toward the couple with their eyes.

Valerie and Austin were at the center of their attention. However, as usual, they ignored everyone and found themselves in a corner.

Austin looked at the food counter before he said, “Wait here, I will bring something for you.”

Valerie nodded, and just as Austin stepped away from her, someone approached the girl.

“Hello, there.”

The violet-haired turned towards the girl and greeted her, “Good evening, President.”

It was the student council president and Valerie’s senior.

Meanwhile, Austin went towards the food counters and took a small plate before he filled it with some muffins and sour and salty chips.

“Got a vibrant taste.” Someone called out.

Without lifting his eyes from the food, Austin nonchalantly spoke, “Need to keep things balanced, after all.”

Morkel chuckled, “But I heard you threw your brother completely off the balance with your Shard.”

Austin shared the laugh, “Well, he surely saw the world off-balance for a couple of moments.”

Anyone who would have understood what they were talking and laughing about might have been creeped out. They are laughing at a dead man!

Morkel tilted his head as he asked, “I fulfilled my role, and now I expect that you will too.”

Austin nodded, “I remember. Tomorrow, before we leave, I will give you the names. Don’t worry.”

Austin soon filled the plate and returned to his lover.

Morkel turned his gaze and settled it on a certain pink-head who was currently surrounded by many students.

‘Just a few days…and I will help you take your revenge.’
