Dark Magus Returns - Chapter 1146
Chapter 1146: Death With A Smile
Deep emotions were pouring out of Safa, and the entire time she was unaware of what was happening around her. She continued to just focus on Simyon, trying to use whatever magic she could to heal him.
Using the Lux spear and more. She didn’t even know that she had just been saved from near death herself, or the fact that there was a certain Neverfall Clan member by her side.
That was until he had rushed over and, with one hand, picked her up by the sleeve of her shirt. Her legs dangling in the air, tears still dropping from her face.
“Tell me now, tell me where he is. I’ve been watching you, you’ve been tracking him, right? So tell me where he is!” Fing screamed at Safa.
In a way, Fing knew what she was going through, as he had just lost his dear brother as well, but he had time to get over the sadness, the void, and the reality of the situation that felt like it was constantly swirling.
Now that he was back in reality, the only emotion that filled him was anger.
“Tell me where he is!” Fing lifted his hand and slapped her with the back of it. “Crying isn’t going to do anything, so tell me now where he is.”
Somehow, a small portion of Fing’s words had gotten through to her. She was following what he was saying. She lifted her hand and tapped the side of her head.
She then pointed in a particular direction, and immediately Fing lifted up his gourd. He could feel a strange power enter into it, turning into the energy source he needed.
As soon as he got the direction he needed, he let go, dropping Safa onto the ground. Using all of his strength, Fing then jumped in the direction where Safa had pointed.
Right after, Rayna landed on the ground. She looked back at Safa for a moment, as well as what was next to her, but with a grunt, she decided to go after her brother.
“Fing, wait!” Rayna shouted.
Moments later, she had jumped off in the same direction as Fing, leaving Safa on her knees looking at Simyon. She looked on the ground, trying to find her spear. She had touched the floor a few times, even missing where it was. The moment she lifted it up, she then turned to try and find Simyon again, and dropped the spear onto the floor.
Quickly she picked it up again and located the body.
When she found his body, her eyes lit up, and she rushed over to where Simyon was. Her footsteps were heavy, ready to place the spear on top of him, until a hand reached out—a dark-covered, almost purple gauntlet held onto the spear.
“Safa… don’t do this to yourself. It’s only going to hurt you more.”
When Safa looked up to see who was speaking, she saw that it was Dame. Someone who was relatively close to them all. He had trained them during their time at the academy and more.
He had a special connection with the three of them.
“Safa… you should be able to tell it’s a lost cause, and I know it’s hard to hear, but there is nothing we can do.”
Dame had been following Fing and his sister to help them on their journey to find Garlon and get revenge, but after seeing this on the battlefield, Dame had to stop. He truly had to.
He knelt down, and both he and Safa stayed by Simyon’s side. Dame started to remember when he trained with Simyon, hitting him all those times to create one of the strongest bodies in Pagna.
They had been through a lot together to get to this point.
“He trained himself really hard every day. I can’t imagine anyone else going through what he had been through. He even told me about when he first received the Cursed Earring from Raze—the torture he experienced.
“In the end, he did all of that so he could be a shield, and it looks like it worked. His shield ended up protecting you, Safa. Although it’s hard to see the top of his face, you should look at his mouth.”
Safa had to wipe away her heavy tears as she looked at Simyon once more. The top half of his head was certainly too bloody, but his mouth—both ends were raised.
“He’s smiling,” Safa said.
“Right. I’ll be honest with you. In my time in the Demonic Faction, I have seen many pass away, and I’ve heard the expression before, but I have never seen someone pass away like this. Their faces filled with pain, their faces filled with regret, their faces filled with anger.
“For me, this is the first time I have seen someone with a smile on their face as they move on. He was truly happy that he managed to protect you, Safa… so don’t waste your power, don’t waste this opportunity. You need to take it and fight for him.”
Safa gripped her spear tightly. Dame’s words had made her somewhat at peace, but it was hard to forget so soon. It still hurt. She just needed to focus on those emotions and turn them around.
“The Deleters are dangerous. We knew that… This is why Alter must be stopped at all costs, and we need to get rid of every single one of them,” Dame said as he banged his two gauntlets together, and ripples of purple energy spread out to the side.

“Liam, take Simyon’s body back. Make sure no one messes with it. He needs a peaceful death. I’m sure you know how important this is!” Dame shouted.
Liam didn’t crack any jokes. He didn’t disregard the order or believe that he should still be fighting. Instead, he followed the orders and immediately placed Simyon’s body on his shoulder.
“I lost a dear friend today… and I’m going to use everything I can to take him out!” Dame shouted.
As his purple gauntlets started to glow.
