Chapter 1148: The Strongest In the Neverfall Clan (Part 1)
Garlon’s power was indeed a mixture of Wind magic and Space magic, and using them in combination, it gave the same effect as if it were explosions.
Only they weren’t explosions. There was no mass amount of heat, nor was there any smoke each time the attack was used.
This made it difficult to know when and where the attack would come from. As for the attack itself, it actually used very minimal Space magic.
Garlon’s power was unique, and over the vast amount of time he had learned to use it in such a way to have its effect.
To throw his Wind magic with a small amount of Space magic like that of a marble, then when it reached the surface, or touched a particular area, he would expand it, giving it the same effect as an explosion.
At the end of the day, it was still magic, and that was why Fing’s gourd still worked against it.
However, even with Fing and Rayna side by side, the fight proved incredibly difficult, until Dame had intervened and had chucked them to the side.
Safa was not far behind, as she pointed her Lux sword and started healing both of them.
“Dame, what the heck are you doing throwing me back like that!” Fing shouted as he wanted to charge forward. “He killed Han, and I’m not going to let him get away with it, I’ll rip him from limb to limb no matter what it takes!”
Fing was ready to burst forward, but it was Rayna who held her spear in front of him, blocking his path.
“We need to stay back until we’re healed, and besides, if you go in now, you’re just going to get in his way,” Rayna said.
“What?” Fing said, giving an angry smile. He almost looked like he was about to burst out laughing due to how ridiculous the situation was, and what his sister was suggesting.
“Listen to yourself, Rayna!” Fing shouted. “If me and you were unable to do anything, what makes you think that loser will be able to do something? He’s just using this situation to feel like he’s done something!”
“No!” Rayna screamed. “You and Han have been blinded for so long, you have no idea what Dame has been up to. You called him a loser, people called him someone with no ambition, but none of that is true.”
“The truth is, Dame has more ambition than all of us… and right now I can feel it. Dame is serious… and he’s hurting as well.”
Fing looked at Dame’s back and could feel intense Qi flowing out of him. Even more so, it was the gauntlets, the strange flowing purple darkness that was appearing, they held such power.
Immediately, the first thing Dame did was transform back into his hybrid form. Several arms broke out from his back, and his mouth had changed, opening wide.
“ARGHHH!” Dame screamed in the air, with all of his arms curling in towards his chest like that of a giant spider.
The gauntlets seemed to multiply and shift, at first just forming purple energy over the other arms of Dame, until they had formed the same type of gauntlets over each of his arms.
Three on each side, plus his original two, in total he had eight arms, with the flowing power coming out of all of them.
“I didn’t realize… he cared about Han so much, after everything we did,” Fing questioned as he could feel his anger.
However, the anger was not because of Han, it was because of another lost soul, who was far closer to him than Han ever was.
“A hybrid,” Garlon commented. “The world of Pagna had stayed stagnant for such a long time. And there was extremely large discrimination towards hybrids, and yet here I am fighting against one, oh have times seemed to have changed so drastically in the last year.”
Garlon crossed both of his arms, and then swung them out, aiming to hit Dame. With all of his hands, the powerful gauntlets appeared to glow slightly purple.
And through the air, he had grabbed at different parts of his body, the space itself looked like it had shifted as he had done so, as if he was grabbing the air around him.
Then, slowly Dame had opened up the palms of his hands.
“These gauntlets have a few different effects compared to before,” Dame said. “They allow me to grip at anything, holding on and never letting go.”
“But it’s not limited to just physical things, energy, Qi, things that don’t have a physical form I can grip onto, and it looks like it’s the same as your power, I can catch it and make it appear as if it’s nothing.”
For many, if they had heard of this effect of what the gauntlets could do, they would believe it wasn’t so special, but Dame knew just how special it was.
The power to hold onto anything and make it malleable. When strikes struck with Qi, even something like Raze’s Eclipse Strike, Dame would be able to hold onto it and shift it, moving it to the side.

This power had more uses than one thought, and with his current hybrid form allowing him to do this with all of his arms, it amplified his powers and uses.
“My attacks can’t be seen by the eye, how did you stop them!” Garlon said, intrigued.
“We are Pagna warriors, we can calculate or get a feeling for when your attacks are going to hit. Instinct, experience, or maybe I can just tell from how quickly your explosions went off from your last attacks from before.”
“You aren’t just fighting any Pagna warriors, and don’t worry, I’ve only shown you the tip of what these gauntlets can do, there’s much more to come!”
Dame started to think about the name of the gauntlets, Wrath of the Forgotten. There was a reason why they were called that, and why he was saddened that he was able to utilize the full use of their power today.
But, just like with all of the items, this one had come with a curse of its own.
