Dark Magus Returns - Chapter 1227
Chapter 1227: Zon vs Red (Part 4)
The moment Red saw his sword shattering, he was taken by surprise. Although his weapons were breaking against Zon, that was due to the power of the crystal.
The crystal, linked to the system, linked to everything else in his body, was powered to the max. This meant the suit itself, the healing factor, and more of Zon was superior in that aspect.
The red energized sword that Red was using, it was stronger due to the beast’s power stone he was using in his own suit and chest. So how was Anna’s able to shatter his sword?
Seeing this, Red jumped back immediately, as he could assume it was only one thing, the item that she was talking about, the bracer that was wrapped around her forearm.
As Red jumped back, he placed both of his palms forward and started to fire out red energy beams. However, unlike the typical red energy beams one would use, his were more frequent and sharp, making it have the appearance of small red needles firing out.
Due to the small size, it was far harder to block, and although it wouldn’t do a large amount of damage on a single area, it would hit several areas at once. His plan was to get Anna out of the way quickly so he could deal with the real threat.
“You have no idea,” Anna said as she placed one hand on the bracer and her other hand held out with her fingers stretched. “The power of the Dark Magus on our side.”
The bracer activated, and a very faint small vibration could be seen, not even seen, the only reason Red knew about it was because of his system. The vibrations went out and broke all of the red energy source, splitting them into nothing but particles of dust energy.
Immediately Red moved off to the side, avoiding whatever strike was coming his way, but he was unable to see anything. The air looked the same, and there didn’t seem to be any type of explosion.
Still, he had to be cautious. As he ran around the outside, he picked up one of the weapons from the ground and hurled it right at Anna. Again she moved her hand, and the sword had just shattered into particles.
‘Seeing as how no long-range attacks are working, then I just need to attack you directly.’
While Red moved from side to side, zigzagging across the battlefield, he had picked up two weapons. He went to strike one right at her center and thrusted one forward.
Anna’s suit covered the entirety of her hand. With the bracer, she grabbed onto the sword, and immediately it shattered. But as for the other weapon, it had hit her side cleanly.
It cut through the suit and went through to her skin. She quickly moved her hand down, breaking the second sword into particles, but her body still was chucked and thrown off to the side. She slid across the ground, and when she managed to somewhat recover, she could see Red still coming at her.
‘Even with the special item created by Raze, there is one thing that I can’t overcome, and that’s his speed!’ Anna thought.
As Red chased with a red sword in his hands, a large energized axe came right down between the two of them. Red had to pull back as he saw the axe hit the ground and exploded part of the flooring.
He jumped back, and there was only one person that could perform an attack like that.
“Zon… so you finally decided to move. Well, it seems typical that a member of your squad has to be the one that bails you out in the end,” Red claimed. “It was the same for me, right? You were unable to do the truly dark side and dirty work that was needed in the war, and who did that get passed onto? Me.”
“I should have expected this.”
Zon looked toward Anna and the bracer on her arm.
“What’s the curse… the curse for using that thing?” Zon asked.
“It shouldn’t matter,” Anna replied. “I’ve already used it, so it doesn’t matter. Just place its power in that system of yours, and let’s link up, to find a way on how to win this thing.”
Linking systems was the ultimate thing the Fortis army could do. Everyone was able to connect with each other, use the information the others had. If they used it in a particular way, they could even look deeper into the others’ memories and more.
This was what made the Fortis army unstoppable in the past—utilizing all of their powers together. Right now, linking up would allow them to fight in sync on the same page and come up with solutions together.
More importantly, it would pass on the information of the item that she was using, and how to best utilize it.
The information was passing into Zon’s head.
The bracer was known as the Bracer of the Unshackled Echo. Its appearance was that of a band that covered the arm, made from what appeared to be beaten bronze, and it was etched with swirling runes. From first glance, it was an item that seemed unremarkable.
If one used a powerful light, and with a keen eye, they would be able to see faint pulses—small ripples along the runes that looked like spread-out sound waves that were trapped underneath the metal.
The bracer itself allowed one to emit and manipulate vibrations and echoes in the surrounding environment. If the user struck or tapped a solid surface, they could amplify the impact.
The procession of the disruption through the vibrations could cause it to break next to anything. When Red attacked with his energy, that was exactly what she had done.

Controlled the vibrations in the air to break apart the energy source, and the same with the swords itself. It was an incredibly dangerous item. If she was able to touch Red, she would be able to destroy the suit on his outer body.
If she was able to touch him again, then maybe with its powers she could even break down the body itself.
“We will be the ones to win this fight!” Anna said, her eyes glowing.
[Systems have successfully been linked]
