Numerous veins bulged on the chairman’s arms as he outright tore the second armrest off of his chair and threw it to the ground. His frustration was palpable, and the sound of the armrest shattering mirrored the growing tension in the room.

“It seems you’re in the middle of something. I’ll leave you to it,” Vespera said and terminated the communication line without waiting for his response.

It took an entire minute for the chairman to calm himself. Grace dutifully stood still like a statue while waiting for her boss to either dismiss her or…

“So, Miss Grace, as the person tasked with observing this lovely woman’s son, did you catch something meaningful that might’ve flown by my ears without notice?” Sarcasm was present in his tone as he referenced Grace’s earlier words when she asked him to put Vespera on speaker mode.

She completely ignored his tone and smiled brightly, “Sir, I believe Vespera Ashborn isn’t very fond of you, and she might betray her country should we mess with her son.”

“Her kind exterior makes one think she’s a harmless creature, but in reality, she’s a ruthless predator, always ready to pounce as soon as the opportunity presents itself,” Luna voiced her agreement for once as she eyed Aria with the gaze of a woman who was measuring her competition up.

“Kai, you were very cool today!” Aria cheered while using her trained arms to knead his shoulder blades, eliciting minor groans of pleasure from her man.

“Thanks, but you three were today’s stars.”

“Hehe! You say that, but you still killed more monsters than any of us!”

“Is that so…” Kaiden whispered while opening his status window to observe today’s enormous gains.

His system’s three unique stats, namely views, fangirls, and income didn’t see much increase because Kaiden didn’t upload any adult content for two days. However, the issue with this dungeon was beginning to bear its ugly fangs at Kaiden and co. He gained 36 stat points, which meant he averaged a little more than 8 per level—which he spread evenly across the four physical stats, thinking them to be equally important to him right now.

While ~8 stat points/level were admirable gains, Kaiden couldn’t help but be a bit disappointed after getting 10 for his first level-up. The reason for his lower gains could be chalked up to the dungeon and its simplicity.

This was the perfect beginner dungeon because the monsters were all rather simple beasts. The mushroom creepers were the rare minority of more complicated monsters one could meet here, most were just evolved animals.

This meant that their simplicity lowered their difficulty, which in turn lowered the gains he got for slaying them.

Then why not just go deeper into the dungeon to meet stronger monsters?

First of all, as an F-rank dungeon, even the monsters on the edges of the dimension weren’t incredibly strong. Even spotting a single level 20 monster would be rare.

Second, there was a cap on what was reasonable. They were already hunting for monsters that were above them in level, but if they ventured too far, they could chance upon high-leveled monsters that were simply impossible for them to fight due to the vast stat difference between them.

On average, monsters already had higher stats than an awakened of the same level, and this further increased for beast-type monsters—the specialty of this dungeon. Therefore, if they dared to venture too far, a level 20 monster might jump them. They likely couldn’t even injure a beast-type monster of that level as they were right now; it would simply have too high defenses thanks to its overwhelming Vitality stat.

*Chime!*

A sound he had never heard before sounded in Kaiden’s mind all of a sudden, making him flinch out of reflex and glance around, looking for enemies. However, he soon realized that it was the sound of none other than his awakened platform notifying him of an awakened person sending him a personal message for the first time in his life.

Although Kaiden didn’t know it yet, this unexpected message would completely alter his future by giving him the opportunity of a lifetime!
