Devilish secretary - Chapter 112
Chapter 112: Chapter 112 She knows Chapter 112: Chapter 112 She knows Lilith smirked, leaning slightly closer to Gray and whispering, “Human Doll, I think he’s about to cry.” Gray’s lips twitched slightly, but he said nothing, his dark gaze fixed on Rayan as the room waited for his response.
Rayan’s mind raced as he tried to find a way out of the situation.
Deep down, he knew the truth, he didn’t have the money.
His grandfather and father had cut off most of his funds recently, leaving him unable to make such a grand purchase.
But he refused to let anyone see his weakness.
“I’m not a fool to waste my money on such a small thing,” he sneered, lifting his chin as he strode toward the exit, his steps deliberate and exaggerated, trying to maintain his facade.
However, as he reached the door, he noticed something, Lia hadn’t followed him.
Lia stayed behind, her expression shifting into a warm smile as she looked at Gray.
“I didn’t expect you, Lilith, to get such a powerful boyfriend,” she said sweetly, her eyes lingering on Gray.
But Gray didn’t even glance at her.
His gaze remained calm and indifferent, his focus on Lilith as if Lia’s presence didn’t exist.
With a simple gesture, he signaled to Quinn, who stepped forward with a smirk.
“Ma’am, will you be leaving on your own, or would you prefer personal assistance getting out?” Quinn asked, his tone polite but dripping with sarcasm.
Lia’s smile froze, her expression changing quickly as embarrassment and irritation flickered across her face.
“I’ll leave myself, thank you,” she snapped, turning on her heel and walking toward the exit, her head held high to mask her humiliation.
As she stepped outside, she found Rayan waiting for her, pacing angrily near the entrance.
“Why didn’t you follow me out?!” he demanded, his voice sharp as he turned to her, his frustration evident.
Lia’s heart skipped a beat in fear.
She quickly lowered her head, her mind racing for an excuse.
“Ray… I’m feeling pain,” she said weakly, placing a hand on her stomach for added effect.
“I was walking with difficulty, that’s why I couldn’t follow you immediately…” Rayan’s expression softened instantly, his anger melting into concern.
“Sweetheart, I’m sorry,” he murmured, pulling her into a gentle hug.
His heart ached with guilt.
He blamed himself for her condition-after all, it was because of him that she was bearing this child.
But at the same time, he felt a swell of pride and happiness.
He was going to become a father, and to him, that made everything worth it.
“I’ll take care of you, I promise,” he whispered, holding her tightly, oblivious to the smirk that flickered across Lia’s lips as she hid her face against his chest.
*** Inside the store, Gray calmly gestured for Quinn to leave.
The store manager, now visibly nervous, approached Lilith with a deep bow.
“I sincerely apologize, ma’am, for all the inconvenience caused.” But Lilith didn’t react much, her piercing gaze merely sweeping over him before turning back to Gray.

Without saying a word, she grabbed Gray’s hand and pulled him out of the shop.
Gray followed her without resistance, his brows furrowing slightly in confusion as they made their way out of the mall.
Once outside, Lilith glanced around and spoke calmly, “Can we talk somewhere alone?” Gray tilted his head slightly, trying to read her expression, but nodded silently.
Lilith led him toward a nearby park, just a few steps away from the mall.
The park was peaceful, with only a few people strolling around, a mother guiding her child, a couple sitting on a bench, and the occasional jogger.
The faint golden glow of the park lights illuminated the area as dusk settled in.
It was quiet, serene, and the perfect spot for a private conversation.
Gray walked beside her, his long strides matching her pace effortlessly.
He wasn’t much of a talke His mind, however, was buzzing with thoughts.
When he had taken over earlier, it had been instinctive.
He had overheard the argument involving Rayan, the ex-fiancé of Lilith and had decided to step in.
His first action had been to message Quinn, instructing him to purchase the mall to settle things permanently.
But now… Why had Lilith brought him here?
His gaze shifted to her curiously.
Did she pull me aside to thank me?
he wondered.
Or maybe… she’s happy I took her revenge, and this is her way of celebrating with a date in the park?
The thought made him blink, his calm expression hiding the slight confusion in his heart.
He followed her to a quieter part of the park, waiting patiently for her to speak.
Finally, Lilith stopped under the shade of a large tree, the faint glow from the park lights casting soft shadows across her face.
She turned to Gray, her piercing blue eyes locking onto his.
“Would you like to introduce yourself?” she asked, her voice calm but carrying an undertone of curiosity.
Gray’s heart skipped a beat, and for the first time in a long while, fear settled in his mind.
He froze, his dark eyes searching hers, his usually unreadable expression betraying a flicker of uncertainty.
She knows.
The realization hit him like a bolt of lightning, leaving his thoughts spiraling.
She knows.
For a brief moment, panic clawed at him.
What if she left them?
What if she couldn’t accept what she now understood?
But then, Gray forced himself to take a deep breath, steadying the storm of emotions inside him.
There was no escaping now.
Stepping closer, he extended his hand toward her.
“Gray Carter,” he said quietly.
He studied her carefully, his gaze locked onto hers as he tried to decipher her reaction.
Gray had always been the one to take control in situations requiring quick decisions and sharp observations.
Whenever Alexander faltered or hesitated, Gray stepped in.
But now, standing before Lilith, he found himself at a loss.
He couldn’t read her.
Her expression remained calm, her piercing gaze giving nothing away.
For the first time, Gray felt exposed, waiting for her response in a way that left him weak in a way he wasn’t used to.
And for the first time in his life, Gray felt helpless.
He didn’t want to lose her.
He couldn’t lose her.
