Devilish secretary - Chapter 122
Chapter 122: Chapter 122 shock Chapter 122: Chapter 122 shock Goodness, I shouldn’t be laughing… but I can’t stop!
Rose thought to herself, biting the inside of her cheek to keep her composure.
The sight of her step-grandmother being rushed into the ward earlier, pale and flustered, had been too much for her to handle.
Serves her right!
All those times she hurt me… Now look at her!
I hope she gets a taste of her own medicine.
To the onlookers, Rose was a picture of tragic innocence.
But in her mind, she was gleefully celebrating a tiny victory.
Her hands pressed harder against her face to cover the grin that refused to fade.
Tears streamed down her cheeks-not from sadness but from laughing too much.
One nurse passing by even stopped for a moment, patting her gently on the head.
“Sweetheart, it’ll be okay,” the nurse said softly.
Rose nodded dramatically, her shoulders shaking harder as she pretended to cry even louder.
If only they knew!
“Rose,” her mother said gently, patting her on the shoulder.
Rose nodded, keeping her face buried in her hands, still pretending to cry.
Suddenly, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed through the corridor, drawing everyone’s attention.
Gray and Lilith appeared, their presence commanding the hallway as they walked in.
Gray’s sharp eyes immediately fell on Rose, her small frame still trembling on the bench.
His brows furrowed, and he turned to his mother, who was standing quietly outside the ward, her expression tired and worried.
“What happened to her?” Gray asked, his voice calm but laced with authority.
His mother sighed, brushing her hair back as she turned to him.
“Seb, we found her fainted in front of her bedroom door,” she explained, her voice heavy with concern.
“She kept muttering something… ‘you deserve it’ or something along those lines.
We didn’t understand, so we brought her here immediately.” Gray’s jaw clenched at her words, a flicker of irritation crossing his eyes.
Without a word, he gave a sharp nod and glanced toward the VVIP ward door where his grandmother was being treated.
Lilith, standing silently beside him, took in the scene with her piercing blue eyes.
Her gaze shifted from the worried mother to Rose, who was still “crying” on the bench.
Lilith’s lips twitched slightly as if she could see through Rose’s act, but she didn’t say anything.
Ana, Sebastian’s mother, turned her attention to Lilith, her eyes narrowing with a mixture of curiosity and confusion.

There was something strikingly familiar about her-the piercing blue eyes, the long, dark hair, the sharp features.
But what caught Ana’s attention the most was Lilith’s aura.
It was sharp, confident, and Attractive-so unlike the delicate and sweet girl she remembered from long ago.
Lilith met Ana’s gaze with calm indifference, her expression unreadable.
She stood beside Sebastian with an air of ease, as though she belonged right there next to him.
“You’re…” Ana began, her voice faltering slightly as she looked back and forth between her son and Lilith.
Before she could finish her thought, Gray stepped forward, his tone steady.
“We’re in a relationship.” Ana’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief.
Her son-Sebastian-who had never shown the slightest interest in any woman, who had always kept his distance from relationships, was now claiming to be in one?
She blinked rapidly, processing his words as though she hadn’t heard them correctly.
“Are you telling the truth, son?” she asked, her voice trembling with both shock and curiosity.
Her wide eyes flicked between him and Lilith, almost as if waiting for one of them to laugh and admit it was a joke.
“Yes,” Gray said firmly, his tone leaving no room for doubt.
Ana stared at him for a moment longer before her expression shifted entirely.
Her eyes lit up, and a bright smile spread across her face.
“Goodness, finally!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy.
“You’re in a relationship?
That’s wonderful news!” Gray sighed quietly at her overexcited reaction, but he couldn’t stop a faint smile from tugging at the corner of his lips.
Ana turned to Lilith, her gaze softening.
“And you, dear, what’s your name?” she asked warmly.
“Lilith,” she replied, her voice calm and measured.
“Lilith,” Ana repeated, rolling the name on her tongue as though testing its sound.
Her smile widened.
“What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.
My goodness, I never thought I’d see the day when my son brought someone into his life.
You must be special.” Lilith’s piercing blue eyes held Ana’s gaze confidently.
“Thank you, ma’am,” she said with a faint smile, though there was a glimmer of amusement in her expression at Ana’s enthusiasm.
Ana clapped her hands together lightly, beaming with excitement.
“You must tell me everything!
How did you two meet?
How long has this been going on?
Oh, this is such wonderful news!” Gray cleared his throat, cutting into her excited ramble.
“Mother, perhaps now isn’t the time.
We’re here for Grandma, remember?” Ana blinked, as though suddenly remembering the gravity of the situation.
“Oh, of course, of course!
You’re right, Seb.
We’ll talk later, Lilith.
I have so many questions!” she said with a smile, though her mind was already racing with curiosity about the confident young woman who had somehow captured her son’s heart.
Rose approached Lilith with flushed cheeks, her lips pressed tightly together as she bit the inside of her cheeks.
“Sister Lilith…” she mumbled shyly before throwing her arms around her.
Lilith gently rubbed her back, a soft smile gracing her lips.
Leaning down, she whispered in Rose’s ear, “Hmm… laughing so much, my dear Rose?” Rose froze, her eyes widening in surprise.
She pulled back slightly, pouting.
“How do you know?” Lilith chuckled, ruffling her hair playfully.
“Secret,” she replied, her tone teasing.
Rose narrowed her eyes, still pouting.
“I was wondering, though… where is that devil?
She didn’t come…” she said, looking genuinely confused.
Lilith raised an eyebrow at the statement, but before she could ask for clarification, a loud, high-pitched voice echoed through the hallway.
“Sebbbvyyyyyyy!” Sienna cried dramatically as she ran toward them, her bandaged hand flailing for emphasis.
