Devilish secretary - Chapter 131
Chapter 131: Chapter 131 Date with Ray Chapter 131: Chapter 131 Date with Ray Lilith’s doorbell rang, and she glanced at the clock.
There was still one minute left before the promised 30 minutes were up.
Her lips curled into a slight smirk as she stood up and walked to the door to open it.
Instead of her usual Grumpy Human Doll, what greeted her was a massive bouquet of roses, completely hiding the person behind it.
“Hello, Miss Mystery,” a playful voice called out, and Ray peeked his head out from behind the bouquet, flashing her a mischievous grin.
Lilith narrowed her eyes slightly, leaning against the doorframe as she studied him.
So, this is Ray?
she thought, watching the carefree sparkle in his eyes.
He wasn’t trying to hide his personality like Gray or Alexander.
“Are you going to let me in or just admire the roses?” he teased, shifting the bouquet slightly.
Lilith sighed but stepped aside, gesturing him in.
“Fine.
But only because I don’t feel like having a flower delivery man standing at my door all night.” Ray grinned and carried the bouquet to the sofa, placing it down gently.
He turned to face her, brushing his hands off dramatically.
“So, where should I place my gratitude, Miss Mystery?” Lilith gestured toward the sofa again, crossing her arms.
“That’ll do.
You’re good at keeping promises, at least.
Thirty minutes on the dot.” Ray plopped onto the sofa and leaned back, looking up at her with a lopsided grin.
“And here I thought you’d be impressed with the flowers.” She raised a brow, walking over to the bouquet and plucking out a single rose.
“They’re nice,” she admitted, twirling the flower in her fingers.
“But I’m more curious about you.” Ray tilted his head, a spark of intrigue lighting up his eyes.
“Oh, so you’ve figured me out already?
I guess there’s no point pretending then.” He smirked, resting an arm casually along the back of the sofa.
“But, for the record, I’m the fun one.” Lilith smirked, leaning slightly against the arm of the sofa.
“Fun?
Or trouble?” Ray laughed, the sound carefree and light.
“Depends on how you look at it.
But I do owe you a thank-you, Miss Mystery.
For helping me with my nightmare.” His voice softened slightly.
“No need to thank me,” Lilith said, her voice calm as she studied Ray.

“But…
you didn’t bring my bag and phone, did you?” Ray’s eyes widened in realization, and then a sheepish, awkward laugh escaped him.
“Uh… about that…” He scratched the back of his head, avoiding her piercing blue gaze.
“Actually… it’s not my fault!
It’s-ETHAN!
Yes, Ethan!
That guy…he’s my cousin, you see.
He stole my car!
I didn’t have a choice!” His tone turned pitiful as he looked at her, hoping she’d buy his excuse.
Lilith arched a brow, clearly unconvinced.
“So, let me get this straight.
You promised to bring me my bag, but instead, you let your cousin, who apparently thinks he’s a celebrity, steal your car with my bag inside?” Ray nodded rapidly, clasping his hands together in mock desperation.
“Exactly!
See?
You get it!
I was helpless, Miss Mystery.” Lilith sighed, shaking her head in disbelief, though a small smile played on her lips.
“You’re something else, Ray.” Ray grinned, placing a hand over his heart dramatically.
“I’ll take that as a compliment, Miss Mystery.
But don’t worry, I’ll get your bag back.
Cross my heart.” Lilith chuckled softly.
“Since I’m here…can we go on a date?” Ray asked excitedly, his eyes shining with a mischievous glint.
Lilith studied him for a moment, noticing the eagerness in his expression.
Finally, she gave a small nod.
“Okay.” Ray’s grin widened like a kid who had just been given candy.
“Great!
Get ready then!” Lilith rolled her eyes but went to her room, pulling out a simple yet elegant blue dress.
She applied light makeup, her fingers brushing against her cheeks, which felt warmer than usual.
Never in her life had she taken so much care to get ready for someone.
“That damn Human Doll,” she muttered to herself, shaking her head with a small smile.
When she finally stepped out, her piercing blue eyes caught Ray’s attention immediately.
His jaw dropped slightly, and for a moment, he looked completely stunned.
Then, his lips curved into a mischievous grin, and he let out a playful whistle.
“Wow, Miss Mystery,” he said, his voice laced with admiration.
“You’re going to make everyone jealous of me tonight.” Lilith raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms.
“Don’t push your luck, Ray.” Ray laughed, holding up his hands in surrender.
“Alright, alright!
But seriously, you look…amazing.” Her lips twitched upward in a faint smile.
“Let’s see if you can keep up, then.” Ray extended his arm dramatically, and Lilith, rolling her eyes again, took it.
*** Lilith’s expression soured as soon as she saw the bike.
“What happened, Miss mystery?” Ray asked, noticing her change in expression.
She pointed at herself, specifically her dress.
“You should’ve told me you brought a bike!
Look at what I’m wearing.
How am I supposed to ride this?” Ray’s grin faltered, and he laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head.
“Oh… I didn’t think of that.
Um… what do we do now?” Lilith crossed her arms, raising a brow.
“That’s what I’d like to know.” Ray fidgeted, clearly out of his depth.
“I… uh… I didn’t realize.
I thought… you’d manage?” His voice trailed off, and he quickly added, “But don’t worry!
I’ll figure something out if you want.” Lilith sighed, shaking her head slightly.
“Never mind.
Let’s make this work,” she said, taking a step closer.
“But next time, tell me in advance, Ray.” Ray beamed as if he’d just won a battle.
“Really?
You’re still coming?
Okay, great!” He immediately handed her the helmet, his excitement bubbling over.
“Miss Mystery, your ride awaits.” Lilith gave him a side-eye glance before taking the helmet.
“This better be worth it,” she muttered, carefully adjusting her dress before climbing on behind him.
Ray grinned to himself but didn’t dare say a word.
Instead, he revved the engine, thrilled that she hadn’t changed her mind.
“Hold on tight, Miss Mystery,” he said, and they sped off into the night.
Ray didn’t take her anywhere fancy or expensive.
Instead, he wanted to make it special in his own way.
He pulled the bike over near a brightly lit hypermarket and turned to Lilith.
“Wait here.
I’ll be right back,” he said, flashing her an excited grin before disappearing inside.
Lilith leaned against the bike, her piercing blue eyes scanning the surroundings.
Moments later, Ray returned, holding a basket in one hand and handing her another smaller basket.
“Hold this, Miss Mystery,” he said with a playful smirk.
Curious, Lilith took the basket and followed him as he got back on the bike.
The road ahead shifted, no longer smooth and busy.
It turned into a quiet mountain path, winding softly through tall pine trees that stretched toward the stars.
The cool night air brushed past, filled with the faint scent of wildflowers and fresh earth.
The moon cast a soft silver light on the winding road, while thin patches of mist curled gently around the trees.
On one side, the thick forest seemed to go on forever, and on the other, the road opened up to stunning views of the valley below, dotted with distant, flickering lights.
Finally, after about twenty minutes, they reached a cliffside.
Ray parked the bike near a flat grassy area and gestured for Lilith to hop down.
Lilith stepped down gracefully and glanced around, her sharp eyes softening as she took in the view.
The cliff offered a stunning sight of the valley below, glowing under the moonlight.
In the distance, the faint lights of a small village sparkled like scattered stars.
Above, the night sky stretched endlessly, filled with shining constellations untouched by city lights.
The gentle rustling of leaves and the faint sound of a distant waterfall added a peaceful melody to the scene.
Ray spread out a small blanket from the basket and motioned for Lilith to join him.
He looked at her expectantly, hoping she’d like his choice of spot.
“What do you think?” he asked.
Lilith glanced at him, her lips curling into a faint smile.
“It’s beautiful,” she admitted, her gaze lingering on the view before her.
The wind teased her dark hair as she turned back to Ray.
“But I didn’t expect this from you, Ray.” “Well,” he said with a sheepish grin, scratching the back of his head, “I might surprise you more than you think, Miss Mystery.” The two of them settled on the blanket.
Ray reached for the smaller basket he had brought and carefully opened it.
Lilith tilted her head in curiosity, but her lips curled into a warm smile when she saw what he had brought: pre-packed sandwiches neatly wrapped in plastic, a bottle of juice, a few chocolate bars, a bag of chips, and a small disposable cups of instant noodles with a plastic fork sticking out of it.
“You grabbed all this from the hypermarket, didn’t you?” she asked, crossing her arms, her piercing blue eyes sparkling with amusement.
Ray scratched the back of his head, grinning casually.
“Hey, don’t judge, Miss Mystery.
I made do with what I could.” Lilith picked up a cup of noodles, raising an eyebrow.
“So this is your idea of a romantic date?”
