Devilish secretary - Chapter 146
Chapter 146: Chapter 146 Shameless Chapter 146: Chapter 146 Shameless His voice trailed off.
Ethan had been about to joke around, but then he noticed something.
Sienna’s vicious gaze.
Grandma Bria’s ugly expression.
And Ryan brooks walking toward Lilith.
Ethan frowned.
Something felt off.
Like a trap was closing in.
Lilith, standing still, felt it too.
It was as if two walls were pressing in on her from both sides-Sienna and Grandma Bria from one end, Ryan from the other.
And all eyes were on her.
Sienna was the first to speak, her voice dripping with fake sweetness.
“I didn’t expect you to be so talented, Lilith!” she said, her smile not reaching her eyes.
Grandma Bria scoffed.
She gave Lilith a long, scrutinizing look before speaking loudly.
“Where did you even learn to play the piano?” she sneered.
“Though, of course, you’re whole level worse than Sienna-but still, not bad.” A hush fell over the surrounding crowd.
Even those who knew nothing about piano could tell Lilith’s performance had completely outshined Sienna’s.
Yet here was this old hag, pretending otherwise.
Ethan rolled his eyes when he heard her words.
“Right.
And I suppose a rat sings better than a nightingale too?” he muttered under his breath.
But before Lilith could respond..
Another voice spoke.
“Lilith, long time no see.” Ryan.
He had finally reached them, standing just inches away from Lilith.
His sharp eyes roamed over her silver dress, her dangerously beautiful figure, the confidence she carried with every breath.
He had never seen her like this before.
Had she always been this stunning?
His jaw clenched.

His fist tightened.
She wasn’t his anymore.
And that thought burned.
Ethan, now utterly confused, frowned deeply.
‘How the hell does Rayan know Lilith?’ he thought, watching Rayan stare at Lilith like a lovesick fool.
And before he could ask- Grandma Bria suddenly exploded.
Her sharp voice rang out, breaking through the murmuring crowd.
“You characterless woman!” she spat.
“Even though you’re dating my grandson, you’re still talking with your ex-fiancé?
Shameless!” The audience gasped.
And Ethan froze.
“Ex-fiancé?!” His mouth dropped open in shock.
Lilith was engaged to that Rayan guy?!
Since when?!
Sienna smirked triumphantly.
This was exactly what she wanted..
to turn the crowd against Lilith.
Jennifer, seeing the golden opportunity, immediately added fuel to the fire.
“A woman like her has no shame!” she sneered.
“Just because she got lucky with a rich boyfriend, she thinks she belongs here?” The whispers started growing.
Judgmental eyes turned toward Lilith.
People who had just been admiring her talent now gossiped about her, throwing her name in the dirt.
“She’s really bold to talk to her ex in front of her boyfriend’s family.” “Doesn’t she have any manners?” “Wait…
is Lilith’s boyfriend Sebastian Carter?” “No way!!” “He’s probably just playing with her.
You see how beautiful she looks?” Ethan, finally snapping out of his shock, felt a fire ignite in his chest.
“These idiots-” He was about to step forward, about to defend Lilith.
But at that moment, Rose stepped forward, her eyes burning with anger.
She had had enough.
“You know what, Grandma Bria?” she snapped, her small hands clenched into fists.
“I’m DONE with you.” The crowd gasped.
No one had ever dared to talk to the Carter elder that way.
But Rose?
Rose didn’t care anymore.
She pointed directly at the old woman, her voice rising with pure frustration.
“You don’t know ANYTHING, yet you open your mouth and spit out all this rubbish!” The old lady’s eyes widened in shock.
Rose wasn’t finished.
“Even a fool can tell Sister Lilith played better!” she continued, her glare sharp enough to cut through steel.
“Do you even HAVE your eyeballs, or are they just decoration?!” The crowd let out a collective snicker.
Sienna’s face went pale, while Grandma Bria’s turned red with rage.
“Y-You!
You’ve changed!!” she screeched, pointing at Rose with a shaking finger.
“First my grandson, now my granddaughter-this WITCH is turning my entire family against me!” She spoke, then pointed at Lilith, her eyes blazing with resentment.
“Lilith, how DARE you ruin my family?!” But before Lilith could even open her mouth€“ Ava clapped her hands together dramatically.
“Wow, wow, wow.” She shook her head, smirking.
“Old lady, I really think you should go see an EAR doctor-maybe even an EYE doctor while you’re at it.” The crowd burst into laughter.
Ethan and Nova?
They were HOWLING.
Nova clutched his stomach.
“Oh my God, Ava-” he gasped between laughs, “you’re killing me!” Even Ethan had to wipe away tears.
“Not the ear doctor!” he wheezed.
The people who had previously whispered against Lilith now chuckled.
Grandma Bria’s face turned a deeper shade of purple.
Sienna, meanwhile, was gritting her teeth so hard it looked like she might break them.
Lilith felt a warmth settle in her chest as she glanced at Rose, who had fearlessly stood up for her.
Meanwhile, Grandma Bria, still fuming, pointed a bony finger at Rose.
“You-!” But before she could spit out another insult- “Ma’am, please!” one of the event staff stepped forward, sweating nervously.
“We still have a celebration going on.
Let’s not cause a scene.” The surrounding guests murmured in agreement.
Grandma Bria’s face darkened.
People were laughing.
Snickering.
Whispering.
Sienna noticed it too, her fingers clenched into fists.
“Grandma,” she whispered urgently, leaning in close.
“Don’t worry.
Even if Lilith knows how to play the piano…
Rose doesn’t.
We’ll deal with her instead.” At that, Grandma Bria’s scowl lifted slightly.
Her beady eyes gleamed with malice.
“Good.
She needs to be taught a lesson.” Both of them slipped back into the crowd, plotting in silence.
Meanwhile- “Lilith.” A deep voice called her name again.
Lilith turned her head lazily.
Rayan stood before her, dressed in a sharp black suit.
His dark eyes studied her intently.
“You’ve changed a lot,” he muttered, his gaze trailing over her from head to toe.
Lilith rolled her eyes so hard she almost saw the back of her skull.
“And you’re still the same, Rayan-annoying and completely useless.” Ethan snorted.
Nova and Ava weren’t even pretending to hold back their laughter.
“Ooooh, burn!” Ava whispered, eyes twinkling with amusement.
Rayan’s jaw tensed.
