Devilish secretary - Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Lilith buddy Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Lilith buddy Who is here again!
Lilith thought as she opened the door.
Outside stood a delivery boy, and behind him, another man holding a large box.
“Ma’am, your parcel.
I’ll need a signature here,” he said, handing her a clipboard.
Lilith’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
Her “buddy,” the item she’d ordered, was finally here!
She quickly signed and brought the parcel inside, hugging it close.
“What’s this, sister?” Rose asked, her curiosity evident, though her eyes were still red from crying.
“Oh, my buddy!
I’ve been waiting for this,” Lilith said, her excitement contagious.
“Why don’t we go to the living room and open it together?” Sebastian, watching her struggle slightly with the large box, stepped forward.
“Let me help you,” he offered, leaning in.
“No need,” she replied with a playful smirk.
What a joke!
This is nothing-I’m not called a devil for no reason.
He didn’t back down, though, and insisted, “Let me.” For a moment, they both held onto the box, each refusing to let go.
His fingers rested against hers, his touch warm and rough, and the space between them seemed to shrink.
The tension grew thick, lingering in the air as they held each other’s gaze.
Finally, Lilith relented, letting Sebastian carry the box as she turned and walked toward the living room with a calm, casual grace.
“Sister, are you going to open it…?” Rose asked, her curiosity bubbling up again as she followed Lilith closely.
“Of course!
I’ve been waiting for this,” Lilith replied, her excitement making her steps lighter.
Once they reached the living room, Sebastian set the box down, his movements careful and precise.
Without a moment to waste, Lilith hurriedly tore open the box.
But as she peeled back the flaps, both Sebastian and Rose went completely still, their expressions frozen in shock.
~˜…~ As Lia looked around the luxurious apartment, her eyes widened, sparkling with a mixture of awe and disbelief.
“Rayan…” she whispered, her voice soft with emotion as she took in the elegant space.
She turned toward him, her expression overwhelmed.
“You like it, hmm?” he murmured, his voice a low rumble, leaning closer until she could feel his breath just grazing her neck.

The warmth of his presence sent a flush through her cheeks.
“Loved it!
But Ray…
it must have cost so much,” she replied, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
Yet, there was a gleam of excitement, the apartment making her heart race.
Rayan tilted his head, noticing her slight tremble.
“Don’t think about the cost.
All I want is to see you happy,” he said, wrapping an arm around her as he pressed a soft kiss to her neck.
A small sigh escaped her as she leaned against him.
“But…
I still don’t know how my house even caught fire,” she mumbled, her voice thick with sadness.
She let out a small, nervous laugh, her mind racing back.
“Last person there?
I think…
Lili…
no, no one,” she stammered, her tone suddenly anxious.
At her words, Rayan’s expression hardened, his jaw tightening as his eyes turned dark.
Sure enough.
Whoever dared to harm her would pay.
“I heard about your engagement…” Lia’s voice was barely a whisper, laced with pain as she avoided his gaze, her fingers nervously twisting together.
Rayan’s hand tightened gently around her waist, pulling her closer, his face burying into the curve of her neck.
“I don’t care about that,” he murmured, his breath warm against her skin.
“I don’t even like her.” Lia’s heart raced, her mind caught in a swirl of hope and doubt.
“Then…
what about me, Ray?” she asked softly, her voice trembling as she turned to meet his gaze.
“Wait for me.
I’ve got a plan…” Rayan’s lips curved into a sly smirk, his eyes glinting with a dangerous edge.
“But, Lia, you’ll have to stand by me… after this, no one will come between us.” Lia’s eyes widened as she clutched his arm, feeling the strength beneath her fingertips.
“What are you planning, Ray?” she whispered, worry flashing across her face as he leaned down, brushing his lips close to hers.
“Something very, very big,” he murmured, his voice darkening.
“I’ll make sure she knows not to mess with you.” “No!
Ray, no,” Lia protested, her voice faltering.
“Lili… she’s like a sister to me.
I can’t… I don’t want her hurt.” Her face twisted in worry, but as Rayan pulled her into a fierce embrace, her face changed, a small, uncontrollable smile breaking through.
“So what if she dares to harm you?
She won’t be able to bear the consequences.
Let me tell you, Lia, no one is kind in this world, including me,” Rayan said, his voice dropping to a husky whisper.
“So you have to give me something in return.” “Sorry, but I can’t pay you immediately, Rayan.
But don’t worry, I’ll try to pay you back soon…” Lia’s voice trembled, her panic rising as she searched his dark eyes for any hint of leniency.
“Nope, baby.
You’ll have to pay in different ways,” he replied, his hands sliding beneath her dress, igniting a rush of warmth across her cheeks.
Lia’s heart raced as she met his gaze, her eyes heavy-lidded with a mix of fear and something else-something she tried to suppress.
“No, Ray… we can’t…” she protested softly, but his smirk only deepened, a predatory glint in his eye as he leaned closer, closing the distance between them.
“Why can’t we…?” Rayan whispered, his forehead gently resting against hers.
His gaze softened, filled with a warmth and tenderness that melted away any hesitation.
His other hand found its way to the back of her neck, holding her gently, drawing her closer.
Lia’s cheeks flushed as she felt his closeness, and unable to hold his intense gaze, she shyly closed her eyes, her heart racing as she leaned into the moment.
“Anyway…
I’m not planning my future with Lilith,” he murmured, his voice low and husky.
“It’s you.” With those words, he closed the space between them.
