Chapter 167: Chapter 167 What’s wrong with Lilith?
Gray sighed as he watched Lilith stubbornly sit on the chair beside his bed, arms crossed, clearly refusing to move.
“You don’t have to stay with me, Lily.
You can go and take rest.” His voice was soft, but firm.
Lilith yawned, rubbing her eyes slightly.
“It’s alright.
I’m fine here.” Gray narrowed his eyes before patting the space next to him on the bed.
“Come here.” “No, you rest,” she said, shaking her head, clearly reluctant.
His jaw clenched slightly before he let out a deep sigh.
“Lily, the bed has enough space.
We can sleep here together.
I’m not going to break, you know.” Lilith frowned, hesitating.
“But what if I hurt you?” Gray scoffed.
“You won’t.” Then, his expression darkened slightly as he added in a low, warning tone, “If you don’t come here right now, I don’t mind carrying you to my bed myself.” Lilith exhaled in defeat.
“You’re so dramatic.” But despite her grumbling, she climbed onto the bed, shifting hesitantly beside him.
Satisfied, Gray adjusted the covers over both of them, making sure she was comfortable.
His arms rested loosely at his sides, but he could already feel the warmth of her body next to him.
She turned slightly to look at him.
“Happy now?” He nodded.
“Ecstatic.” Lilith rolled her eyes, but a small smile played on her lips as she settled into the pillows.
The room fell into a peaceful silence, the dim hospital lights casting soft shadows over them.
Gray watched her as her breathing slowly evened out, her eyes fluttering closed.
She looked… peaceful.
He shifted slightly, reaching out to tuck a strand of her long dark hair behind her ear.
“Sleep, Lily.
I’m here.” Lilith hummed in response, already half-asleep.
“You better be.” Gray chuckled softly, closing his eyes as well.
*** Lilith woke up with a jerk, her senses snapping to full alert when she felt hands on her cheeks, warm and firm.
Her heart pounded, and she quickly sat up, her sharp blue eyes narrowing.

The dim hospital light flickered slightly, and in the faint glow of the early morning, she saw him-the one she least wanted to deal with.
Darkness.
He was sitting on the bed beside her, his black eyes gleaming with amusement, his lips curved into a slow, lazy smirk.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he drawled, tilting his head, watching her reaction with amusement.
Lilith’s brows furrowed, irritation flaring in her chest.
“Why are you back?” She glanced toward the window, noticing the sky was beginning to lighten.
Morning already?
She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, pushing back stray strands.
Darkness leaned forward slightly, his face just inches from hers.
“Tsk, don’t be so cold to your boyfriend.
If you don’t like me, you can just break upppp with me.” He chuckled, the sound low and teasing, his voice like silk laced with trouble.
Lilith rolled her eyes, not in the mood for his games.
“You wish.” Darkness grinned wider, enjoying the fire in her eyes.
“Oh?
So you do like me then?” Lilith exhaled sharply, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at him, which he effortlessly dodged, laughing.
“Get lost, Darkness.
I don’t have time for your nonsense first thing in the morning.” He leaned back against the headboard, watching her with that same knowing smirk.
“Ah, but sweetheart, I’m not going anywhere.” His voice dropped, rich and velvety.
“You see, you might love Alexander, Gray, and Ray… but whether you admit it or not, you’re curious about me.” Lilith narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms.
“Curiosity and love are two very different things.” Darkness simply shrugged.
“Not always.” Lilith’s patience was already thin, and she had no energy to deal with him this early in the morning.
“I don’t want to talk to you!
I have other things to do,” she snapped, rubbing her temples.
Without giving Darkness another glance, she turned on her heel and walked into the washroom, splashing cold water on her face to wake herself up.
Her reflection stared back at her in the mirror, her piercing blue eyes slightly duller than usual, a faint sign of exhaustion visible in her face.
She let out a deep breath before straightening herself.
“Just ignore him,” she muttered under her breath.
Once she stepped out, Darkness was still lounging on then hospital bed, watching her with his usual smirk.
“You wait here,” she told him, grabbing her bag.
“I’m going to change and bring you breakfast, alright?” She didn’t wait for his response.
Before he could throw another remark her way, she had already walked out of the hospital ward.
** The moment she stepped into the hotel she had booked, Lilith felt something was off.
Her head throbbed dull at first, but then the pain grew sharper, pulsing against her skull.
She pressed a hand to her temple, trying to shake off the uncomfortable sensation, but it only intensified.
Her vision blurred slightly.
What the hell is happening?
She reached for the keycard in her bag, but her fingers fumbled.
The pounding in her head grew stronger, as if something.
Her knees wobbled, and she barely managed to take a step before her balance gave out completely.
No.
Her body tilted forward.
She blinked, trying to fight against the darkness creeping at the edges of her vision.
She couldn’t pass out here not now.
But her body didn’t listen.
The last thing she felt was the cold floor against her skin as she collapsed.
Then, everything faded into black.
A female staff member at the hotel gasped when she saw Lilith collapse near her room.
Panic surged through her as she rushed forward, shaking Lilith lightly.
“Miss?
Miss, can you hear me?” But there was no response.
Her breath caught in her throat, and she immediately called for help.
Soon, other hotel staff arrived, and within minutes, Lilith was taken to the hospital.
— Meanwhile, Darkness remained in the hospital ward, sitting idly as he waited for Lilith’s return.
His fingers drummed against the bed frame, and a slight smirk played on his lips.
“Tsk… she’s taking too long,” he muttered, tapping his temple as if deciding whether to be annoyed or amused.
To make things worse, the annoying doctor kept bombarding him with endless, irritating questions.
Outside the ward, the atmosphere was anything but calm.
Sienna, her arms crossed, was glaring at the closed hospital door with a victorious smirk.
“Look, Grandma!
She didn’t even come back!
She left Sebby all alone the entire morning.” Grandma Bria huffed, her expression dark with disapproval.
“That orphan!
I told you, she only wanted to leech off my grandson.
Look at her!
Instead of staying by his side, she’s probably off shopping, spending his money-” “Mom, stop it,” Ana interrupted sharply, rubbing the bridge of her nose.
“Maybe she had something urgent to handle.
We can’t ignore the fact that she’s been taking care of Sebastian.” Rose nodded firmly.
“Yes, Mom is right.
Lilith was here all day and night.
It’s not fair to accuse her of leaving without a reason.” Ethan, standing nearby, frowned.
He had been quietly listening, but now, his patience was wearing thin.
Pulling out his phone, he muttered, “Let’s just call her and see where she is.” He dialed Lilith’s number.
It rang.
No answer.
His brows furrowed, and he tried again.
This time, someone picked up.
“Lilith!” Ethan said immediately, relief washing over him until an unfamiliar voice responded.
“Are you a family member of Miss Lilith?” a serious male voice asked from the other end.
Ethan’s stomach dropped.
“Who is this?
Where is Lilith?” “She was found unconscious near her hotel room.
Some of the hotel staff brought her here.
She is currently under medical observation.” Ethan’s grip on the phone tightened.
His heart pounded.
Unconscious?
His mind raced, but he kept his voice steady.
“Which hospital?
What room?” When the staff gave him the details, his eyes widened.
It was the same hospital.
She’s here?
All this time, she was just a few floors away?
He immediately turned around, his expression dark.
“Lilith is in the hospital.” The air in the hallway shifted.
Rose, who had been standing beside Ana, gasped.
“What?!
What happened to her?” Ana’s expression twisted with worry.
Even Quinn, who had been standing nearby, straightened up.
“She collapsed near her hotel room,” Ethan repeated, running a hand through his hair.
“Some hotel staff found her unconscious and brought her here.” Grandma Bria scoffed loudly.
“Hah!
She probably fainted from spending too much money on herself.
What a useless-” “Shut up,” Ethan snapped, his voice sharp as a blade.
Everyone turned to look at him in shock.
His gaze was ice-cold as he glared at Grandma Bria.
“You keep running your mouth about Lilith, but let’s not forget-she’s been the one taking care of my brother, handling his company, and putting up with your bullshit all at once.” Grandma Bria’s lips pressed into a thin line, but she didn’t say anything.
Sienna, however, was seething.
“Oh, so now you’re defending that orphan?
How touching.” Ethan ignored her.
He was already walking away.
