Chapter 169: Chapter 169 Lilies for Lilith Chapter 169: Chapter 169 Lilies for Lilith And she saw the worried face of her human doll.
His expression, the emotions in his eyes-she knew this face well.
Alexander.
And there was no one else.
Only her human doll, looking at her as if she had just disappeared and come back to life.
“You have no idea how worried I am, Lili!
Please take care of yourself next time,” Alexander sighed in relief, his fingers brushing against her smooth cheek.
His touch was warm, but his hands trembled slightly.
His eyes, usually calm, were filled with emotions too raw to hide.
“I don’t know how I should live without you…” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
Lilith blinked, her sharp eyes scanning the surroundings.
A hospital ward?
She was in a bed, the scent of antiseptic lingering faintly in the air.
A slow smile and curled on Lilith’s lips.
Tch, how troublesome.
It was time to punish her human doll…for being cruel to himself.
“Still, you tried to erase your existence,” Lilith said, her tone calm but laced with something deeper, something unreadable.
She pushed his hands away, her gaze locked onto his.
Alexander froze.
His fingers twitched midair, as if he wanted to reach for her again, but something in her words made him stop.
His expression shifted, his lips parting slightly in silent shock.
Lilith tilted her head slightly, her blue eyes gleaming with something dangerous.
“So, tell me, Alexander,” she murmured, “should I be the one to teach you the value of your own life?” His Lilith didn’t call him human doll.
It was like a blade pressing against his heart.
The coldness in her face, the distance in her voice, it cut deeper than any wound.
Alexander closed his eyes, swallowing the sharp ache in his chest.
“I don’t know what I’m doing… I am…” he muttered to himself, his voice lost between guilt and confusion.
Lilith let out a tired breath.
“Shh.” She wasn’t in the mood for this.
“Get out.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
I want to be alone,” she said, closing her eyes as the pounding in her head worsened.
The gods of heaven were annoying, her patience was wearing thin, and now Alexander was making things even more difficult.
“Lili…!” Alexander stepped forward.
Lilith’s eyes snapped open.
“Alexander!” Her voice was sharp, breaking the stillness in the room.
“I don’t have to repeat myself.” Alexander froze.
Her tone her cold, unwavering command-it was like a slap.
His lips parted, desperate, pleading.
“Please, Lili-” Before he could finish, Lilith climbed down from the bed and slowly stepped toward him, closing the distance between them.
Her movements were steady and firm.
She reached for his hands, her fingers tightening around his wrists as she looked up at him, her jaw clenched.
“What if I had multiple personalities too?” she asked, her voice low and steady.
“Would you have rejected me?” Alexander’s breath hitched.
“I would never reject you,” he said without hesitation.
Lilith’s eyes didn’t waver.
“Then why do you think I want a perfect man?” Her fingers dug into his skin slightly.
“I like you just the way you are, but you-” she exhaled sharply, “-you refuse to understand that, Alexander.
Now get out.” Her words hit harder than anything else she could’ve said.
Alexander’s cold, expressionless face slowly melted into something raw.
His emotions, always locked away, now lay exposed in his deep, tired eyes.
“Lili…” His voice cracked slightly, but he stopped himself.
Lilith let go of his hands, rubbing her temple in irritation.
“Just leave, Alexander,” she sighed.
“I don’t have the energy to keep explaining this to you.” Alexander clenched his fists.
He wanted to say something, wanted to fight for this moment, for her but one look at her tired, frustrated expression made him step back.
Without another word, he turned around and walked out of the ward.
Lilith watched his back as he left, her gaze unreadable.
The door clicked shut behind him, leaving her in silence.
She sighed, eyes dropping to the floor as she muttered under her breath, “Sorry…” But he needed to understand.
This wasn’t just about her.
It was about Ray.
It was about Gray.
And most of all it was about himself.
Alexander blankly went outside his face was expressionsless.
“Sebbbvyyyyyyy!” The overly sweet, high-pitched voice cut through the air, dragging Sebastian’s attention toward the approaching figure.
Sienna.
She practically skipped toward him, a wide grin on her face as she held up a bouquet of white lilies.
Her eyes sparkled with amusement, clearly pleased with herself.
“Sebbbvyyyyyyy, look!
I brought flowers for Lilith!” She stopped right in front of him, lifting the bouquet proudly.
“Lilies for Lilith!
Hahaha!” She burst into laughter at her own joke, rocking on her heels.
Sebastian stood still, his face unreadable as he stared at her.
His jaw tightened slightly.
Something about her energy, her excitement, made his skin crawl.
He didn’t move.
Didn’t react.
Just watched as she laughed to herself, completely unaware or maybe entirely aware of how irritating she was.
“Move,” Sebastian said coldly, his patience already wearing thin.
He was in a bad mood, and now she was ruining what little tolerance he had left.
Sienna pouted for a second, but then, from the corner of her eye, she saw the ward door opening.
Her expression instantly brightened.
Lilith was stepping out.
A slow, mischievous smile crept onto Sienna’s lips.
She nodded innocently and moved aside, making it seem like she was obediently stepping away.
But just as Alexander walked past her, she subtly lifted her foot..just enough to throw him off balance.
Alexander stumbled slightly, his weight shifting as he lost control for a brief moment.
Sienna gasped dramatically, as if she had nothing to do with it, and reached out, wrapping her arms around his waist, pulling him toward her.
“Oops~” she giggled, eyes twinkling with fake concern.
Before she could hold on any longer- A shadow moved.
Before Sienna even realized what was happening, Lilith was already there.
Lilith’s jaw clenched, her expression unreadable, but her eyes burned coldly as she stepped forward.
Without hesitation, she grabbed Alexander, yanking him away from Sienna’s hold like he belonged to her-which, he did.
Sienna barely had time to react before Lilith’s sharp gaze locked onto her.
Their eyes met.
Lilith was expressionless, but there was an unspoken warning in her presence.
Alexander, now steady in Lilith’s grasp, glanced between them.
Sienna, who was so pleased with herself moments ago, now glared at Lilith, anger flashing in her eyes.
But Lilith didn’t flinch.
Didn’t speak.
Didn’t blink.
She just stood there, holding HER human doll, her grip firm unshakable.
Lilith’s grip on Alexander tightened as she turned her sharp gaze back to Sienna, her voice dropping into something dangerously smooth.
“You dare to make my man lose his balance and take advantage of him?!”
