Devilish secretary - Chapter 17
Chapter 17: Chapter 17 Creepy sister Chapter 17: Chapter 17 Creepy sister Lilith gazed at her “buddy” with pure adoration.
“I’ll sleep with it… I can’t fall asleep without it,” she declared, her tone almost affectionate as her fingers traced along the skeleton’s bony edges.
Rose, wide-eyed and visibly shaking, peered into the box and saw the human skeleton staring back at her with hollow eye sockets.
She gulped, feeling goosebumps prickling up her arms.
This beautiful sister… has such a strange hobby… Even Sebastian’s expression faltered, a hint of disbelief crossing his usually composed face.
“Sister, can you… maybe put that in the corner?
It’s… creepy,” Rose said, her voice a shaky whisper.
Lilith frowned, clearly displeased.
“Why?
I want to cuddle with it.” She turned back to Sebastian and added casually, “And you can sleep in the guest room.” “N-no need, sister…” Rose stammered, clutching Sebastian’s arm tightly.
“Brother… aren’t you taking me with you?” she asked, eyes pleading.
Sebastian, his face unreadable, looked down at Rose, and then over to Lilith.
“No,” he said firmly.
“You’re staying here.
I know Lilith-she’s my employee.
She can take care of you.” He added a slight smirk as he turned back to his sister, clearly unfazed by her wide-eyed plea.
Then, he fixed his gaze on Lilith, his dark eyes glinting with something unreadable.
“You’ll take care of her, right?” Lilith met his gaze, unfazed.
“Of course,” she replied with a hint of a smile.
“I’ll take good care of her.” Her words had a slightly mischievous undertone that didn’t escape his notice, making him watch her a beat longer.
“Nooooooo… brother, I’m coming with you!” Rose cried, clutching his arm desperately.
Lilith raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at her lips.
“Weren’t you the one insisting on staying with me, little girl?” she teased, her tone light but with a hint of something Rose couldn’t quite place.
Rose’s eyes went wide as she met Lilith’s gaze, a chill running down her spine.
Her mouth opened, but words failed her, and with a dramatic sigh, she decided the best way out was to simply… faint.
“Oh…” she murmured softly, swooning into Sebastian’s arms, eyes fluttering closed.
Sebastian barely reacted, his expression unmoved as he looked down at her with a knowing smirk.
“I’m taking her,” he said flatly, more amused than concerned.
He was well aware of his sister’s flair for drama.
Lilith tilted her head, hiding a smile.

“Is she alright?” she asked, feigning worry.
“Perfectly fine,” he replied, giving her a subtle nod, both of them fully aware of Rose’s little act.
After watching them leave, Lilith’s expression finally relaxed.
She turned back to the living room, picking up her beloved skeleton, and went into her bedroom.
Just like little girls love their teddy bears or plush toys, Lilith loved her skeleton.
She remembered the day her father gifted it to her when she was young, and it was one of the few memories she held onto.
It might seem strange to others in this world, but this skeleton was the only thing that reminded her of a time when she had someone who cared.
As she sat down, holding it close, her fingers traced over the cold, familiar bones.
The skeleton was her warmth, her comfort.
It reminded her of her father’s love, the only person who once meant everything to her.
˜…˜…˜… Sitting in the car, Rose sighed in relief, finally feeling safe.
“Oh my god, brother, that sister is beautiful, but her strange hobby nearly scared me to death,” she said, glancing nervously at Sebastian, who sat beside her, his gaze fixed on his phone, his expression cold and unreadable.
His assistant silently drove, glancing at them in the rearview mirror.
“Brother…” she whispered, hoping to break the silence.
At last, he looked up, his gaze piercing and icy, making her shift uncomfortably in her seat.
She knew that look all too well.
He was angry with her.
“Why did you run away?” Sebastian’s voice was cold as he looked down at her.
“I-I…” Her voice trembled, eyes welling up with tears.
She wanted to tell him everything, but how could she?
How could she possibly share what she’d been through?
So she stayed silent, hoping he wouldn’t press further.
Sebastian took a deep breath, watching her closely.
He didn’t ask again; he had a feeling it might be connected to Sienna.
The thought only darkened his gaze further.
He’d put up with enough from Sienna, and this was the last straw, His jaw tightened.
Sebastian took a deep breath, his expression growing serious.
“Tell me everything.
I want all the details about this ‘bad guy’ you mentioned,” he said, voice firm.
Rose fidgeted with her fingers, then nodded.
She explained in detail how she’d been cornered by some bad stranger, someone who made her feel genuinely scared for first time.
Thankfully, Lilith had shown up just in time and saved her.
“We should thank her,” Sebastian said, a hint of relief mixed with determination.
“Yes…
but I’m honestly a bit scared to meet her again…
hehe…” Rose gave a nervous laugh.
Then, her curiosity got the better of her.
“Brother, you said she’s your employee.
Does that mean she works directly under you?” “My new secretary,” he replied, fingers tapping thoughtfully on his thigh as he considered everything she’d told him.
Rose’s eyes widened, worry flickering in them.
“Then don’t fire her like you did with the others…
She’s different, talented.
I really think you should keep her around.” She didn’t want her brother to dismiss her ‘creepy but beautiful’ savior, especially not after what Lilith had done for her.
Sebastian didn’t respond, neither agreeing nor denying.
But Rose took his silence as a sign that he was at least considering her words.
She sighed and watched him for a moment, hoping he’d say something.
However, it quickly became clear he was focused on his phone, scrolling through emails full of advanced English she couldn’t make sense of.
As Sebastian scrolled through his emails, he noticed one from a particularly important client.
It was an invitation to a grand birthday celebration, one that would be filled with high-profile guests, the type of event where appearances and impressions mattered.
His client had even requested that he bring a ‘female companion’ along.
