Devilish secretary - Chapter 171
Chapter 171: Chapter 171 It€™s not my fault you€™re rich Chapter 171: Chapter 171 It€™s not my fault you€™re rich First, Alexander took Lilith shopping at the mall, insisting that she pick out whatever she wanted.
He led her into a high-end clothing store, walking beside her as she browsed.
Unlike most women, Lilith wasn’t overly excited or flustered about buying new clothes.
She simply picked what she liked calmly, without hesitation, as if she were collecting tools rather than luxury outfits.
Alexander, on the other hand, watched her with mild amusement.
He didn’t care about the price, he had more than enough to spare but he did enjoy seeing her so effortlessly composed, as if money was never something she worried about.
As Lilith continued shopping, a few sales assistants and customers began whispering among themselves.
“Look at her… just grabbing anything without looking at the price tag.” “She’s totally a gold digger.
Look at her boyfriend-he’s rich, obviously.” “Must be nice spending someone else’s money without blinking.” Lilith heard every word.
But she didn’t even flinch.
She calmly picked another dress, unbothered, as if their words were mere background noise.
However, Alexander’s expression darkened.
His jaw clenched slightly as he flicked his sharp gaze toward the whispering women.
They instantly froze under his piercing stare.
Lilith, noticing the tension, smirked slightly and leaned toward him.
“Relax, Human Doll,” she said smoothly.
“It’s not my fault you’re rich.” Alexander’s eyes flicked back to her, and just like that, his irritation vanished.
His lips curled into a smirk.
“You’re right.
I worked hard for this money so my woman can spend it however she wants.” The whispering women gasped, speechless.
Lilith simply took another dress off the rack and continued shopping completely unbothered.
After finishing her shopping, Alexander paid for everything without hesitation.
Lilith took the bags without a word, as if it was the most natural thing in the world, and then- She dragged him to a men’s clothing store.
Alexander wasn’t interested.
He barely glanced at the racks, uninterested in shopping for himself.
He leaned against a wall with his hands in his pockets, watching Lilith as she took charge.
Without asking, she picked out jackets, shirts, and pants for him, her sharp eyes scanning through the collections with precision.
“Try these on,” she ordered, handing him a stack of clothes.
Alexander raised a brow, amused by how naturally bossy she was.
“Ordering me around now?” Lilith shot him a look.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
“You let me pick.
Now go change, Human Doll.” Alexander chuckled under his breath but obeyed, walking into the fitting room.
He wasn’t used to people choosing clothes for him, but when he stepped out, wearing one of the white shirt Lilith picked- She smirked.
“Good.
At least you look like a proper rich man now.” Alexander huffed a laugh, raising a brow.
“Was I looking poor before?” Lilith tilted her head, her eyes scanning him lazily.
“You looked like someone who wears the same suit every day.” Alexander sighed, but he didn’t argue.
When he went to the counter to pay, Lilith shook her head and stepped forward first.
Before he could react, she swiftly tapped her card against the reader.
Transaction complete.
Alexander stared at her.
“Lili.” His voice was low, warning.
“I’m supposed to pay for my own things.” Lilith simply crossed her arms.
“Not today.” Alexander tried again to convince her, but no matter what he said, Lilith didn’t budge.
“You already paid for my clothes, so shut up and take it.” Alexander exhaled, running a hand through his hair, clearly exasperated.
But deep inside?
He liked it.
He wasn’t used to people caring for him this way.
And even though she did it in her usual bossy, no-nonsense manner… It still felt nice.
After finishing their shopping, Lilith took Alexander to a spa.
The place was luxurious, with a modern machine that could detect what the skin needed and customize facials and massages accordingly.
But Lilith?
She didn’t bother with the test.
Neither did her Human Doll.
Instead, they both walked straight in and got the full treatment.
Alexander, who had never actively thought about spas, simply went along with it.
But the moment he laid down and felt skilled hands massaging away the tension in his muscles- He got it.
Lilith was right.
Self-care was love.
The massage was perfect, the pressure just right, and the facial left his skin feeling ridiculously smooth.
Even though the staff were professionals, Alexander had an annoying realization when a young male therapist started massaging Lilith’s shoulders.
His lazy relaxation vanished instantly.
His eyes snapped open, shifting to where Lilith lay, completely unbothered, letting the male therapist work.
Alexander’s jaw tightened.
But Lilith?
She simply sighed, stretching a little.
“Human Doll, I told you, self-care is love.” Alexander closed his eyes again.
But deep down?
He was already planning to book a private spa next time where only HE could massage her shoulders.
After the spa, Lilith took Alexander straight to the girly section of the store, completely unbothered as she walked toward the lingerie and innerwear section.
Alexander did not want to go.
“Lili, I’ll wait outside.” His voice was calm but firm, already turning on his heel to escape.
Lilith grabbed his wrist.
“No, you’re coming with me.” Damn it.
Alexander walked beside her, his face carefully neutral, but the moment his eyes landed on the endless rows of lace, silk, and delicate fabrics hanging everywhere- He regretted every decision that led him here.
Lilith, however, was completely at ease.
She casually ran her fingers over the materials, examining them like they were just regular clothes.
But Alexander?
He kept his gaze straight, his hands shoved deep into his pockets, his ears already burning.
And then- Lilith told the saleswoman her size.
Alexander stiffened.
His ears turned even redder.
His entire existence felt like it was being tested.
Lilith, of course, noticed.
She glanced at him, lips curling into a teasing smile.
“Human Doll, why is your face red?” she teased, crossing her arms.
Alexander exhaled slowly.
“Lili, please… hurry up.” Lilith chuckled but took her time anyway.
As Lilith continued browsing through the lingerie section, Alexander stood stiffly beside her, his face blank but his ears still red.
Just when he thought this situation couldn’t get any worse, he felt a sharp gaze on him.
He turned his head slightly- And there she was.
A random female customer standing a few feet away, staring at him.
Her arms were crossed, her brows were furrowed, and her eyes were filled with judgment.
