Devilish secretary - Chapter 189
Chapter 189: Chapter 189 Mistake Chapter 189: Chapter 189 Mistake Lilith’s head pounded as she sat on the bed, staring at the most annoying creature she had ever encountered.
Sir Sparkleton.
That square-headed disaster.
She had survived wars of words, power struggles, dangerous situations… But this?
This was heaven.
Now, she was trapped on an island with a robot who refused to leave her alone.
After flipping off her Human Doll through the security camera, she had dived under the blanket, needing a moment of peace.
Just one second of silence.
But, of course- Peace was not in her fate.
Because just as she was finally getting comfortable- The space beside her dipped.
Lilith’s body went rigid.
A cold shiver crawled up her spine.
Slowly… very, very slowly… She turned her head.
And then- She saw it.
A red glow.
Coming from under the blanket.
Lilith’s face twisted into pure horror.
“No.
No, no, no-” The glow moved closer.
And then- A mechanical voice whispered from beneath the covers.
“MISS LILITH!
SLEEP MODE ACTIVATED!
I WILL ACCOMPANY YOU!” “AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!” Lilith threw the blanket off, lunging away as fast as humanly possible.
Her chest heaved, her entire existence questioning reality.
And there it was.
Sitting comfortably on her bed.
Its tiny red eyes blinking innocently.
Sir Sparkleton.
Lilith’s face went blank.
Then- “WHERE DO I SWITCH YOU OFF?!” she roared, lunging at him.

Sir Sparkleton panicked, flailing his arms.
“ERROR!
ERROR!
MISS LILITH IS VIOLENT AGAIN!
SYSTEM NEEDS A HUG!” Lilith’s eye twitched violently.
She needed a hammer.
Or better- A volcano to throw this little shit into.
Despite her absolute hatred for the walking disaster named Sir Sparkleton, Lilith was too exhausted to fight anymore.
Her body gave up before her mind could argue, and at some point, she fell asleep.
Somewhere in the back of her mind, she vaguely remembered muttering death threats at the annoying robot before drifting into unconsciousness.
She actually slept peacefully.
Until morning came.
And that peace was violently shattered.
Because the moment Lilith’s eyes fluttered open- “MISS LILITH!
MISS LILITH!
WAKE UP!
THE SUN HAS RISEN!” A blaring robotic voice filled the room, followed by the sound of tiny metal feet stomping on the floor.
Lilith’s brain short-circuited.
Her body stiffened.
And then- Something cold touched her forehead.
“SYSTEM HEALTH CHECK!
MEASURING MISS LILITH’S TEMPERATURE!” Lilith bolted upright, eyes wide with pure terror.
Her morning had just begun, and she already wanted to commit murder.
And sitting directly beside her on the bed, holding a tiny scanner up to her forehead, its red eyes glowing in excitement- Was Sir Sparkleton.
Looking like he had been waiting for this moment his entire life.
Lilith grabbed the nearest pillow and WHACKED him across the room.
“SYSTEM ERROR!
SYSTEM ERROR!
MISS LILITH IS VIOLENT IN THE MORNING TOO!
SYSTEM NEEDS BACKUP!” Lilith dragged a hand down her face.
Her day had barely started.
And she was already done.
*** The grand Carter estate was lively that night.
But it wasn’t filled with worry, nor was it a gathering to search for the missing Lilith.
No.
It was a celebration.
A celebration of her disappearance.
Inside the Carter mansion, the sound of laughter and clinking glasses echoed through the grand dining hall.
At the head of the table, Grandma Bria sat in her throne-like chair, her wrinkled fingers gracefully holding her glass of wine.
Her eyes gleamed with dark satisfaction.
Lilith was gone.
Murdered.
And the best part?
Her brother had taken care of everything.
There was no trace, no evidence, no chance of return.
She let out a slow, deep sigh, drinking her wine with pure delight.
Yes… this was the peace she had been waiting for.
Across from her, Sienna was already on her third glass of alcohol, her face flushed a deep red.
Tears welled in her eyes, but instead of sorrow- There was joy.
“I know, I know!
I shouldn’t be happy!” she cried, wiping at her eyes, her voice thick with fake pity.
“It’s so pitiful how she went missing… but-” She let out a small hiccup before giggling.
“I’M SO HAPPY!
SEBBY IS GOING TO BE MINE AGAIN!” She lifted her glass dramatically, almost spilling the liquid.
Liam, sitting beside her, watched her with deep love in his eyes, his fingers tightening around his own glass.
To him, Sienna was everything.
Her beauty, her grace, her sadness even made her look angelic.
But the way she spoke about Sebastian with longing?
It made his heart ache.
Because he loved her.
And she loved someone else.
Across the table, Leia was watching Liam.
Her eyes mirrored the same longing.
Because while Liam was in love with Sienna- Leia was in love with Liam.
A twisted, pathetic circle of unrequited love.
As Sienna continued to drink and dream about Sebastian, as Liam gazed at her with quiet suffering, as Leia stared at Liam with a hidden heartache.
*** The celebration had ended.
Liam adjusted his coat, his mind hazy from the alcohol but still clear enough to force a smile as he turned to Grandma Bria.
“Alright, Grandma, we’re leaving.” His voice was steady, but deep inside, something felt off.
Something about tonight… felt wrong.
Perhaps it was the fact that they had celebrated a woman’s disappearance like it was a victory.
Or maybe it was because Sienna had been too eager to drink her happiness away.
Leia had already left, her family driver taking her home.
But Sienna- Sienna had come with him.
As he led her toward his car, she was barely able to stand, stumbling in her heels, giggling to herself in a drunken haze.
He opened the car door, helping her inside, his fingers tightening slightly against the steering wheel.
What am I even doing?
But then she turned to him, her half-lidded eyes shining under the streetlights.
By the time they reached her apartment, Sienna was completely out of it.
She was too drunk to walk.
Liam sighed, stepping out of the car and moving around to her side.
“Alright, come on…” he muttered, carefully lifting her into his arms.
She was light, delicate, and even in her drunken state, breathtakingly beautiful.
His heart pounded.
This wasn’t the first time he had been close to her.
But tonight… Tonight felt different.
He carried her inside, using the key she had given him long ago, pushing the door open with his shoulder.
The apartment was dark, quiet, empty.
The faint scent of her floral perfume lingered in the air.
“Sienna, I need to put you down,” he said, attempting to lay her on the bed.
But before he could- Her arms tightened around his neck.
And then she kissed him.
Liam froze.
His mind went blank.
The warmth of her lips against his soft, sweet, intoxicating.
He tried to pull back, to say something…anything…
But she didn’t let him.
“Sienna,” he whispered, his voice husky, breathless.
She was still drunk, her fingers tangling in his shirt, her lips brushing against his jaw.
Liam’s breathing turned ragged.
He should stop.
He shouldn’t be doing this.
But then she looked at him.
Her cheeks flushed, her lips slightly parted, her body pressing against his as if begging him not to let go.
His resolve crumbled.
He swallowed hard, his lips parting as he murmured, “Are you sure?” Sienna let out a small, drunken hum.
“Umm…” And then- She pulled him toward her.
And Liam let himself fall.
*** The golden light of dawn spilled through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the apartment.
The air was quiet, warm, filled with the lingering scent of wine and faded perfume.
Liam slowly blinked his eyes open, his body feeling light, satisfied, and strangely at peace.
And then, he saw her.
Sienna.
His sweetheart.
Lying in his arms, her bare skin against his, her soft breathing tickling his chest.
A slow, happy smile spread across his lips.
For years, he had loved her from afar, watching as she chased a man who would never truly love her back.
But now she was here.
With him.
And last night… Last night had been perfect.
He brushed a strand of her hair from her face, watching as she stirred, her eyelashes fluttering.
“Good morning,” he murmured, his voice light, filled with warmth.
But the moment Sienna’s eyes opened fully- Her entire body stiffened.
And then Her face twisted in horror.
Her breath hitched.
Her eyes darted wildly.
And before Liam could process what was happening, she pushed herself up and stared at him like he was a stranger.
“Liam…?” her voice shook, disbelief sinking into her bones.
Then, realization hit her.
And her entire world shattered.
The man in her bed, the one she had woken up with, the one she had spent the night with- Wasn’t her lover or Sebby.
And then Tears welled in her eyes.
“Liam… you know I love Sebby… why did you…?” Her voice broke.
And so did Liam’s heart.
He sat up slowly, his body growing cold despite the warmth of the sheets.
His throat tightened as her words sank in.
She wasn’t happy.
She wasn’t grateful.
She wasn’t his.
Even after everything… Even after last night… She still only saw Sebastian.
Liam clenched his fists under the covers, forcing himself to swallow the bitterness rising in his throat.
He had always known.
Always known that her heart wasn’t his to take.
But last night, in a drunken haze, he let himself believe…just for a moment that maybe, just maybe, she could be his.
And now?
Now, he was just a mistake in her eyes.
