Devilish secretary - Chapter 199
Chapter 199: Chapter 199 Pure friendship
“Sir Sparkleton, how do I escape this place?” Lilith asked, resting both hands on her chin as she lounged casually on the couch.
Sir Sparkleton’s red eyes blinked rapidly, his mechanical voice coming to life as he straightened his tiny metal frame, clearly thrilled to be offering an informative answer.
“Sorry, Miss Lilith! That is against my protocol! Master Sebastian has strictly forbidden any escape attempts, and as a loyal Robot, I cannot betray my primary function, which is ensuring your well-being and keeping you safe in this facility!”
Lilith’s expression didn’t change. She simply rested her chin in her hands, gazing at the robot with pure boredom.
“But… hypothetically,” she said slowly, “what if my friend was stuck in this place? How should I help her escape?”
Sir Sparkleton’s head twitched slightly.
A pause.
Then his processor kicked in.
“Ah! I see, a theoretical question! A purely educational inquiry! Miss Lilith is very intelligent!”
Lilith smirked.
Sure enough, the dumb tin can fell for it.
Sir Sparkleton’s tiny arms flailed slightly as his speakers whirred.
“For a friend to escape this facility, several factors must be considered! Please listen carefully as I explain the security measures in place!”
Lilith leaned back, making herself comfortable.
“First and foremost!” Sir Sparkleton announced, “this island is completely isolated, meaning that traditional escape methods such as running, hiding, or digging a tunnel are completely futile! There is nowhere to go but the endless ocean!”
His red eyes blinked faster, his tone turning almost dramatic.
“Secondly, all external transportation is strictly controlled by Master Sebastian’s private network! There are only two reliable means of escape…by boat or by plane! However, both are heavily monitored, and unless one possesses security clearance, attempting to board either would result in immediate capture!”
Lilith tapped her nails against her knee, nodding as if deep in thought.
Sir Sparkleton continued enthusiastically.
“Thirdly! There are no other inhabitants on this island aside from Master’s hidden bodyguards, who operate in the shadows and report all movements to him! Attempting to bribe or manipulate them would be an unwise course of action, as their loyalty is absolute!”
His mechanical limbs waved around as he went into full lecture mode.
“Fourthly! There are cameras installed in strategic locations, ensuring that Master Sebastian is constantly aware of all activities on this island! Escape attempts are therefore not only impossible but also foolish! The facility is designed with top-tier technology that prevents unauthorized exits!”
Lilith eyed the small robot, her lips twitching in amusement.
She had to admit—whoever programmed this thing had way too much time on their hands.
Sir Sparkleton, completely oblivious to her thoughts, kept talking.
“Fifthly! The security system in place operates on facial recognition, biometric scans, and AI surveillance! Even if someone were to attempt to access restricted areas, they would immediately be detected, and an alarm would be triggered! I, Sir Sparkleton, would personally alert Master Sebastian of any such transgressions!”
His chest puffed up proudly, as if expecting praise for his efficiency.
Lilith’s eye twitched slightly.
“Uh-huh. Very impressive.”
Sir Sparkleton’s eyes lit up with excitement.

“Indeed! Master Sebastian has designed a foolproof system that ensures no one can leave without his explicit permission! As a result, escape is entirely unrealistic, irrational, and unnecessary! Therefore, Miss Lilith should not concern herself with such futile efforts!”
Lilith rested her cheek against her palm, exhaling slowly.
“…And what if my friend managed to knock out a certain security robot and steal the clearance needed to get on a boat?”
Sir Sparkleton immediately beeped in alarm.
“WARNING! WARNING! MISS LILITH, THAT QUESTION SOUNDS VERY SUSPICIOUS! I DETECT A 97% CHANCE OF ESCAPE-RELATED INTENTIONS! MASTER SEBASTIAN MUST BE ALERTED IMMEDIATELY!”
Lilith sighed.
And without a second thought…she grabbed a couch decorative pillow and smacked him straight in the face.
Sir Sparkleton toppled over with a loud metallic thud.
“SYSTEM ERROR! SYSTEM ERROR! ABUSE DETECTED! MISS LILITH, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM VIOLENCE! I AM BUT A HUMBLE AI SERVANT!”
Lilith leaned back against the couch, crossing her legs.
“Tch. That’s what I thought.”
Sir Sparkleton lay on the floor, twitching slightly, muttering broken system alerts under his breath.
Lilith sighed, rubbing her temples.
So, escaping was nearly im~possible, huh?
That just meant she’d have to get creative.

When Liam was leaving the company, Sienna had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. He had no idea when she had become this unbearable.
His patience had finally snapped.
His voice was sharp, exhausted, filed with frustration that had been building up for too long.
“Sienna, can you leave me alone?! If you can’t love me, don’t give me mixed signals!”
His tone was rough, final. But Sienna? She didn’t flinch.
If anything, she looked more determined.
She had never liked the idea of Liam moving on.
Sure, she never planned to be with him, but she liked knowing he would always be there, waiting for her, ready to do whatever she needed.
And now, that patience of his was wearing thin.
That was a problem.
Especially now that Sebastian was finally free of that orphan.
Her lips curled slightly, even as tears pooled in her eyes, a contradiction of emotions swirling within her.
Sebby would be hers again.
She just needed to give him a shoulder to lean on in his heartbreak.
She knew Grandma Bria had done something.
Lilith was likely dead.
Which meant there was nothing standing between her and Sebastian anymore.
Liam, on the other hand…
He just needed to stay under control.
He needed to listen to her.
He needed to be there for her whenever she needed him.
He always had.
And he always would.
So she took a deep breath, changing her expression into something soft, pleading.
She let her tears fall.
“Liam… what about our friendship?” Her voice wavered, sweet, innocent, as if she wasn’t the one playing with his emotions.
She reached for his hand, but Liam took a step back.
She pretended not to notice.
“Our pure friendship… just because you spent the night with me doesn’t change anything.”
She let out a small, shaky breath, watching him carefully.
“We’re both adults, Liam. We know what that meant. It doesn’t have to ruin us. It doesn’t have to mean anything.”
Silence.
A cold, gut-wrenching silence.
Liam’s eyes darkened.
For a moment, he just stared at her.
Unblinking. Unmoving.
And then, pain flashed through his gaze.
She still didn’t see it.
She still didn’t see how much it had hurt him.
How much she had broken him.
How much he had loved her.
And how much, in this very moment—
She was making him hate her.
Liam had always been someone who loved deeply.
But if there was one thing he knew about himself—
It was that when he hated something, he hated it just as deeply.
And right now?
Sienna was making him feel hatred.
Behind one of the pillars, Hannah was watching in silent shock.
She had just been passing through, but now…
Her eyes widened.
What the hell was she listening to?!
Liam and Sienna? Together? And she still wanted to be ‘friends’ with him?!
This woman was insane.
Hannah clutched her bag tightly, biting her lip to stop herself from gasping aloud.
Meanwhile, Sienna sensed Liam’s irritation.
Finally, she knew it was time to retreat.
She couldn’t push him too hard. Men didn’t like to be chased.
No…men liked to chase.
So she exhaled dramatically, shaking her head.
“Alright…” she murmured, voice trembling just enough to make it sound convincing.
She turned around, stepping away.
But the moment her face was hidden from his view—
Her tearful expression twisted into something cruel.
Liam would come back.
He always did.
He would beg for her love.
She just needed to wait.
She left, making sure her back was straight, her posture delicate yet graceful. She intentionally let her hair bounce softly with each step, ensuring she looked effortlessly beautiful even from behind.
Liam watched her go, sighing in relief. But just as he was about to turn away, a flicker of movement caught his eye..a glimpse of fabric peeking from behind a pillar.
His gaze turned cold. “Come out.” His voice was sharp, leaving no room for disobedience.
A moment later, Hannah stepped out, smiling awkwardly.
