Devilish secretary - Chapter 205
Chapter 205: Chapter 205 Rescued
Her lungs burned, her vision dizzy, but she tightened her grip on the only thing she had managed to grab.
Sir Sparkleton.
Even as her body screamed for oxygen, she refused to let go.
Because despite how much she hated that annoying thing—
It was still a gift.
From her Human Doll.
And she had never lost a gift before.
She wasn’t about to start now.
With her last bit of strength, she kicked upward, breaking the surface with a gasp.
The night sky spun above her, the wreckage of the boat already scattering in the waves.
She took a deep, shuddering breath, tightening her hold on Sir Sparkleton.
“Miss Lilith! Status report—Status report!” Sir Sparkleton whirred, his system glitching slightly from the water.
Lilith let out a weak laugh, coughing slightly.
“We’re alive, aren’t we?”
Sir Sparkleton blinked.
Then, as if realizing the weight of what just happened, he beeped softly.
“Miss Lilith… you saved me.”
Lilith sighed, floating on her back, staring at the stars above.
“Yeah, yeah. Don’t make me regret it.”
Sir Sparkleton hummed, his voice almost… gentle.
“For the record… Master Sebastian would have been upset if I had been lost.”
Lilith paused.
Her eyes flickered toward the horizon, where nothing but endless darkness lay ahead.
A small, tired smirk pulled at her lips.
“Then let’s not tell him.”
Sir Sparkleton whirred, his sensors blinking erratically as his system recalibrated.
“Miss Lilith! I have detected land nearby! We must swim approximately 700 meters north-northeast before reaching safety!”
Lilith lifted an eyebrow.
“Oh? You’re sure this time?” she asked, voice dripping with suspicion.
Sir Sparkleton blinked innocently.

“100%! No! 110%! I have double-checked!”
Lilith sighed heavily, staring at the endless stretch of ocean.
The water was cold, salty, and now her entire body felt drenched and exhausted.
She was so done with this night.
But what choice did she have?
Either she trusted the tin can or drifted into the endless sea.
“Alright, fine,” she muttered. “But if you’re wrong again, I’m really throwing you into the water this time.”
“Understood, Miss Lilith! I shall sit very still and be an excellent navigation guide!”
Lilith rolled her eyes before adjusting her position.
With a tired sigh, she hoisted Sir Sparkleton onto her back, letting him cling onto her like some ridiculous metal backpack.
“Ow! Miss Lilith, your hair is in my circuits!”
“Shut up before I let the ocean shut you up.”
“Understood! Swimming mode activated! Let us proceed!”
And with that—
Lilith took a deep breath and began swimming in the direction Sir Sparkleton had given.
The ocean stretched endlessly before her, the water cool against her aching muscles.
Every movement was strong, smooth, her body gliding forward with precision.
Despite the exhaustion, she moved effortlessly.
But her mind?
It wasn’t as calm as her strokes.
Would this really lead her to safety?
Or was she following this dumb robot into another disaster?
Either way—
She had no choice but to keep going.
Because one way or another, she was getting out of this ocean tonight.
*Morning*
Lilith staggered onto the shore, her legs trembling, the sand cool against her bare feet.
Her black dress clung to her skin, completely drenched, her long, wet hair sticking to her face.
The ocean’s relentless touch had drained the warmth from her body, leaving her pale and cold.
Her deep blue eyes, darkened by exhaustion, flickered toward the faint voices in the distance.
A group of young men, handsome and sun-kissed, were playing football near the shore.
At first, they were laughing, completely immersed in their game—
Until they saw her.
Their movements froze.
One of them, a guy with fair skin and a soft, boyish face, immediately dropped the ball and ran toward her.
His eyes widened with concern.
“Are you okay, Miss?!”
Lilith blinked slowly, barely registering his words.
Her body felt impossibly heavy, her limbs aching from the endless hours in the water.
But she still had enough strength for one thing.
With a lazy motion, she lifted her hand and lightly slapped Sir Sparkleton, who was still clinging to her like a wet metal parasite.
The tiny tin can beeped in protest.
“Miss Lilith! That was unnecessary!”
The boy’s eyes widened even more as the robot suddenly came to life, blinking and twitching.
Lilith sighed, her voice hoarse.
“Explain to them so I don’t have to.”
Sir Sparkleton straightened up on her shoulder, his red eyes blinking rapidly as he processed the situation.
Then, in his usual overenthusiastic voice, he spoke.
“Greetings, concerned citizen! Miss Lilith has just survived a perilous maritime disaster, engaged in extreme physical exertion, and swam an unreasonable distance due to MY NAVIGATIONAL EXCELLENCE!”
Lilith let out a long, suffering sigh.
The boy blinked.
Then—
“…Huh?”
Sir Sparkleton continued proudly.
“She is currently suffering from exhaustion and possible mild hypothermia! Immediate medical care, hydration, and warm food are strongly recommended!”
The boy’s concern deepened.
“Oh, god. Come on, we need to get you somewhere warm!”
He quickly gestured to his friends, who were still frozen in shock, staring at the drenched, exhausted woman and her bizarre talking robot.
Lilith wanted to protest, but her body betrayed her, her knees buckling slightly.
Before she could collapse, the boy quickly grabbed her arm, steadying her.
“Easy, easy! You need rest.”
Lilith groaned, too tired to argue.
As they led her off the beach, Sir Sparkleton whirred happily.
“Mission success! Miss Lilith has been rescued by new kind strangers!”
Lilith narrowed her eyes.
“Shut up before I bury you in the sand.”
Jack led Lilith through the narrow streets of the small island town, his grip firm but gentle as he supported her tired frame.
His house wasn’t far from the shore..a modest but warm-looking home with white walls and a small garden filled with colorful flowers.
As soon as they stepped inside, the scent of herbal tea and fresh bread filled the air.
“Mom! We have a situation!” Jack called out.
