Chapter 209: Chapter 209 Covered. Hidden. Erased.
Her legs buckled slightly, and she clutched the edge of the table, her knuckles turning white.
He didn’t kidnap Lilith?
Then… where the hell is she?
For a moment, the world spun. Her mind, once sharp and full of schemes, now drowned in a chaos she couldn’t control.
She had believed Nyom’s men took care of everything. She trusted that one call from him would erase Lilith from the map. That was the deal.
But now–now she realized she’d been used like a pawn in his game.
And she walked right into it.
She hadn’t even checked those damn documents properly! She just handed them over like a fool, desperate to bring Sebastian down a notch, to shake his control.
Now Nyom was trapped.
And he was dragging her with him.
Her fingers scrolled down the message again.
“….Did you really think I’m a fool, Bria? I have everything—documents, old chat logs, secret recordings, proof of everything you’ve done behind Sebastian’s back.
If you don’t pull that golden grandson of yours off my neck, I swear I’ll leak it all. To the press. To the cops. To Carter Corporation’s board.
You’ll be dragged down with me. Think fast, grandma.”
Her blood turned to ice.
No. No, no, no. He wouldn’t dare.
But the dread pooling in her gut told her otherwise.
Because Nyom wasn’t bluffing.
He had everything.
Everything she thought was buried.
The bribes. The old, forged medical files.
The truth about Stella…
Her chest tightened.
If he exposed that, if anyone ever found out what truly happened to Stella…
Her reputation would shatter.
Worse—what if they found out Stella was pregnant during the accident?
Her heart skipped a beat. She clutched her chest, gasping as she stumbled back into her chair.
She felt fear…real fear for the first time in her entire life.
Not just fear of exposure.
Not fear of humiliation.

But fear of losing everything.
Her position in the Carter family…
Her control over Sebastian…
Her spotless legacy…
Gone.
The silence in the room was unbearable. She stared at the walls, haunted by ghost from the past she’d buried years ago.
She had always believed she was invincible. The queen behind the curtain.
But now..the curtain was on fire.
And the very person she trusted to do her dirty work…
Was now holding the matches.
Grandma Bria’s breath caught in her throat. Her fingers, once adorned with power and control, now trembled like dry autumn leaves in the wind.
If they find out…
Her eyes darted wildly as the memories came crashing back..
The cold night.
The shattered windshield.
The scent of gasoline clinging to the air.
Stella’s terrified eyes. The scream. The blood.
She had done it with her own hands, she had stabbed Stella once, twice..while Stella was pregnant and And she didn’t stop.
Not even when the girl begged.
Not even when Stella whispered she was pregnant with baby.
Bria had made sure the scene looked like an accident.
A car crash.
A fire.
She burned everything or so she thought.
And then there was Stella’s best friend..the one who had accidentally witnessed everything.
Bria hadn’t planned for her.
But she had handled her too.
One more corpse. One more lie.
Covered. Hidden. Erased.
Or so she believed.
But Now, Nyom was threatening to tear open that sealed box…dragging out the truth like buried corpses, rotting beneath the ground.
Bria’s old eyes widened, her pupils shrinking, sweat clinging to her wrinkled forehead.
If the world knew…
That she murdered not just one woman, but two—
And one of them was carrying a baby—
She would not survive it.
Not legally.
Not socially.
Sebastian..
He would destroy her.
He wouldn’t listen.
He wouldn’t forgive.
She had always feared the moment her empire of lies would collapse.
But now, it stood trembling on a single message..
A threat typed by her own brother.
Her chest rose and fell rapidly.
She felt lightheaded, dizzy.
Her heart pounded like a war drum in her ears.
This wasn’t fear.
This was terror.
The kind that only comes when death has already whispered its name.
And Bria..
For the first time in her life,
Felt truly powerless.
“Ma’am…”
The soft voice made Grandma Bria jolt. Her shoulders stiffened, and her eyes, already wild with fear, snapped toward the sound.
But it was just the young maid barely twenty, thin and timid, holding a tray of tea she didn’t even realize she dropped.
Bria’s heart was thundering with panic, but she had no control anymore. And when fear consumed her..her temper followed.
Without a second of hesitation, she raised her hand and struck the girl across the face.
The tray clattered to the floor. The maid stumbled backward, falling to her knees as she clutched her cheek, her eyes wide in pain and disbelief.
“You useless maid!” Bria shouted, voice trembling with fury, fear, and frustration. “Sneaking around like a rat—go cry somewhere else!”
Tears welled in the girl’s eyes, but she dared not speak. She simply nodded, biting back her sobs, and crawled to gather the shattered pieces of porcelain.
Bria stormed past her, rage boiling beneath her skin. She had no time for weaklings, not now.
She needed to meet her grandson Now.

In a sleek, black luxury car, Darkness sat in the backseat, one leg crossed over the other, his fingers tapping the leather armrest.
His jaw was tight, lips pressed in a flat line.
He didn’t expect her to really escape.
Not this soon.
But then again..she was Lilith.
He should have known.
He should have expected it.
Still thankfully, she’d taken that stupid square-head robot with her.
He tapped open the tracking app, watching her dot blink steadily on the map. She was still moving, but slowly now—probably resting.
He was heading straight to the airport.
He had a jet waiting.
Because no matter what..he needed to see her.
His phone chimed.
Ding!
An email. From Devils Play.
He opened it immediately.
[> I waat to met you tommorow]
He stared.
Frowning.
The grammar was a mess—again.
No punctuation. Awkward phrasing. Wrong spelling.
For a group that made terrifyingly flawless plans and could take down empires, they had the language skills of a sleep-deprived college student.
Still, he replied with a simple:
[ Okay. Send location. ]
But he didn’t let it distract him.
His mind drifted back to her.
To Lilith.
She was stubborn. Fierce. Always trying to test him.
Even after learning she was safe, she’d still escaped him.
And yet—
He couldn’t deny it.
It thrilled him.
The thought of chasing her, of taming that fire, made something dark stir in his chest.
He didn’t want a woman who bowed easily.
He wanted her.
Her glare. Her defiance. Her strength.
She wasn’t his prisoner.
She was his addiction.
