Devilish secretary - Chapter 217
Chapter 217: Chapter 217 Creator
The room was soaked in shadows, lit only by the faintest silver glow of the moon slipping through the curtains. The sound of gentle waves from the distance whispered through the open window.
Alexander sat on the center sofa like a silent monarch, legs spread slightly, elbows resting on his thighs, fingers steepled beneath his chin. The dim lighting carved out the sharp lines of his face, casting his eyes into unreadable darkness.
His coat was draped across the back of the couch, his shirt sleeves rolled up, revealing tense forearms as if he had just returned from war and in many ways, he had.
War against jealousy.
War against himself.
And in front of him stood Sir Sparkleton, glowing red eyes blinking in steady rhythm, his little metallic body standing at perfect attention, unsure if this moment was his execution or promotion.
Alexander’s voice broke the silence, smooth and cold.
“I saw your history talk with Lilith.”
Sir Sparkleton’s mechanical face brightened with pride.
“Master! I am very glad I was useful to you in any capacity! My data is always at your—”
Alexander’s voice cut through again, this time filled with warning. “You tried to matchmake mine Lilith… with some unknown wild boy?”
The air grew colder.
Sir Sparkleton’s red eyes flickered..”Sir Jack showed early signs of compatibility! Emotional affection readings were only at 3.6% but rising. And Miss Lilith smiled approximately 4.2 seconds longer than average—system believed slight encouragement may—”
“I don’t care what your system believed,” Alexander said, eyes glowing like quiet thunder. “She smiled because she was amused. Not because she felt anything.”
Sparkleton fidgeted. “A-at the time, system lacked proper jealousy-detection data. And Sir Jack offered coconut water—statistically—”
“Coconut water?” Alexander echoed slowly, standing from the couch.
The robot stepped back.
“I’ll give you coconut water,” Alexander muttered, rubbing his temple. “And a short flight across the ocean.”
“Sir!” Sparkleton raised both metallic hands. “This unit deeply regrets its actions. No further matchmaking will be processed. Jack removed from potential alliance roster. Deleted. Forgotten. Vanished.”
Alexander turned slightly, the moonlight catching the edge of his jaw. “Good.”
A long pause.
Then, after a beat, Alexander looked toward the closed bathroom door, where faint steam curled beneath it. The sound of water had stopped.
“She’s almost done,” he muttered, his tone quieter, darker. If you try to pair her without another boy…”
“I—I was only trying to maintain her emotional wellness—”
Alexander shot him a sharp look. “Next time, try doing that without selling me off like a jealous ex.”
Sir Sparkleton straightened like a soldier. “Yes, Master. Understood. No further betrayal. This unit stands proudly with Master Sebastian”
Alexander rolled his eyes and sat back down, stretching one leg out as he leaned on the armrest.
“She likes you, otherwise I’d have melted you down for spare parts.”
Sir Sparkleton blinked rapidly.
“Affirmative. Deep gratitude detected.”

And then the door creaked open.
Steam drifted out as Lilith stepped into the room, hair damp, skin glowing, wearing only one of his black shirts that hung slightly off her shoulder. She didn’t say a word at first. Her eyes found Alexander immediately… then flicked to the trembling robot in the corner.
“Hmm?” she hummed, towel in hand.
Alexander smiled slowly, dark and dangerous “Nothing,” he said, patting the seat beside him. “Just disciplining the help.”
Sir Sparkleton stood frozen, muttering quietly to himself:
“Danger level: 1000. Recommend hiding behind couch.”
As Lilith settled beside Alexander, the leather cushions dipped gently beneath her. Her hair still held the light scent of her bath, and her legs curled up beside him as if she belonged right there…next to him, in his space, his world.
Sir Sparkleton didn’t wait a second. With a high-pitched mechanical whimper, he sprinted toward the farthest corner of the room, hiding behind a standing lamp. That human named Quinn was better, he thought bitterly. At least he held him with dignity, not threats of drowning and melting into toasters.
Lilith, who’d watched the robot flee with amused eyes, turned back to Alexander, her fingers brushing against the back of his hand, then gently linking with his.
“By the way…” she said casually, her voice light and curious. “Who made that tin can? You know, robots are usually smart and serious… but this one? He’s noisy, overly emotional, and he talks too much. I’m starting to think his creator wasn’t aiming for intelligence.”
Alexander looked at her from the corner of his eye, expression unreadable.
“Really?” he drawled, voice low. “And what would you do after meeting this… creator?”
Lilith tilted her head with a slow shrug, “Maybe have a small talk. Ask why he gave the robot so many personality glitches. Maybe throw a pillow at him.”
Alexander almost smiled. Almost.
His lips curled slightly as he turned his palm upward, letting her play with his fingers…those long, rough, work-worn hands that looked like they belonged to a man who had built empires and broken enemies.
She traced a fingertip across one of the thicker knuckles.
“Creator of that robot is—” he began.
But before he could say more, his phone buzzed against the table.
He glanced at the screen. Rose. Without hesitation, he answered and switched to speaker.
“Brother! Where is Sister Lilith?!” Rose’s energetic voice rang out, filled with urgency and worry. “I’ve been so scared and bored here! Can you at least send me an art kit? Or books?! Or a wall to scream at?!”
Lilith blinked.
A strange warmth filled her chest hearing Rose’s voice after what felt like weeks—even though she couldn’t tell how long had passed. The world outside had gone quiet in her chaos.
“I’m here,” Lilith said softly, leaning closer to the phone, her voice wrapping around the air like silk.
“Sister!!!” Rose squealed so loudly that even Sir Sparkleton flinched from the corner. “Oh my God! Thank goodness you’re okay! I was so worried you’d been kidnapped!”
Lilith chuckled. “I’m perfectly fine, little girl.”
Alexander leaned back with one arm resting on the top of the sofa, his eyes shifting between Lilith and the phone, lips curled in quiet amusement.
“Don’t worry,” he said flatly. “I’ve already sent a truckload of your art kits.”
“Really?! Yay!” Rose’s voice was full of joy.
