Chapter 226: Chapter 226 The Ray Tech Lab.
“W-What do you want?” the man stammered, hands trembling slightly.
Alexander stepped inside slowly, shutting the door behind him with a quiet click. His eyes scanned the room, then settled on the man.
“I’m not here to kill you,” he said simply.
He walked closer, the silence of the room pressing in from all sides.
“I’m here because you used to work for Nyom Brown.”
The man flinched. “I—I don’t anymore. I swear. I have nothing to do with him! He… he left me to die.”
Alexander’s tone didn’t change. “That’s why I came.”
He crouched to the man’s level, his expensive black coat brushing the dusty floor, his sharp gaze pinning the man in place.
“Because men like you..the ones Nyom threw away…know the most.”
The man in the wheelchair was silent. His hands gripped the arms of his chair, knuckles white. He stared at Alexander, unsure if this was a trick, unsure if he could trust a Carter. His lips parted, but no words came out.
“I won’t talk,” he said finally, voice weak but stubborn. “Nyom will kill me if I do.”
Alexander didn’t react. He simply stood up, dusted off his black coat, and slowly walked to the window. The sunlight hit his face…sharp jawline, messy dark hair, and those cold, expressionless eyes. Even without trying, he looked like a man from a dangerous dream. Powerful. Sharp. Dangerous.
“You know,” he said quietly, still looking outside, “my secret company…Ray Tech..is working on something special. Artificial limbs.”
The man blinked.
Alexander turned his head slowly, his voice low and smooth. “Not just any fake leg. These feel real. You can walk again. Run again. No more pain. No more rusted wheels and stinking rooms.”
The man stared, eyes wide.
“I can give that to you,” Alexander said, now walking closer again. His face close to man, his voice quiet like a secret. “I don’t need your loyalty. I just need the truth.”
The man hesitated.
Alexander’s tone turned deeper. “Don’t you want to stand again? Walk outside and feel the wind on your face without a chair beneath you? You don’t have to rot here. Not if you help me.”
The man looked down at his legs, then up at Alexander’s face.
The man in front of him wasn’t just any CEO. He had an aura…clean black suit, deep voice, every move confident. His presence filled the room. And for a moment, the man believed it. Believed he could walk again.
Alexander leaned back slightly, his lips curving in the smallest smile. “Help me bring Nyom down… and I’ll bring you back to life.”
The room was quiet.
Then finally, the man nodded once.
“I’ll talk.”
And Alexander stood up, sharp and tall like a shadow the sun couldn’t melt.
His eyes turned cold again.
“Good choice.”
Alexander didn’t waste any time.
Once the man agreed, Alexander had him taken inside a black car. The windows were dark, and security followed closely. No one said a word during the ride. It was quiet, and the man had no idea where he was being taken.

After a long drive, they finally stopped outside the city. It looked like an empty warehouse…plain and quiet. No name, no guards, nothing to notice. But when the steel doors opened with a soft hiss, everything inside looked completely different.
The man in the wheelchair being slowly wheeled beside him by one of the assistants.
A lift took them deep underground.
When the doors opened, the man’s eyes widened in shock.
The Ray Tech Lab.
It didn’t look like anything he had ever seen. The walls were shiny silver and smooth, glowing with light that changed colors. Giant screens floated in the air, showing codes, maps, and machines. Robotic arms moved fast and carefully, building gadgets and tools that looked like they came from the future. The floor was bright white. People walked around in neat uniforms, checking tablets, machines, and speaking into invisible earpieces.
It felt like a smart city hidden underground.
“Th-This looks like a sci-fi movie,” the man whispered.
Alexander said nothing. He walked forward calmly, his black suit perfect and clean. His steps were quiet, but strong. People moved out of his way without him saying anything. He had a serious face, sharp eyes, and walked like someone who owned everything here.
In his mind, Alexander thought quietly about the real reason this place existed.
Ray.
Ray loved technology. Robots. Talking machines. Cool gadgets. He never liked boring business talks. He was never good at them. But when it came to building things, Ray had a genius mind.
Alexander had built this secret lab for him. For Ray to dream safely.
They stopped in front of a sealed room. Alexander placed his hand on the scanner, and the door opened with a soft click.
Inside was a silver table. And on it—
A pair of artificial legs.
They didn’t even look fake. The skin tone was real. The legs looked strong, soft, and smooth. The toes bent. The knees could move like normal. They even responded to brain signals.
“This is our best version,” Alexander said. “You’ll be able to walk. Run. Climb. Do everything again.”
The man froze. His eyes filled with tears. He reached out and touched the legs.
They felt real.
“I’ll help you,” he said softly. “I’ll help you take down Nyom.”
Alexander only nodded, his cold eyes sharper than ever.
The war had just begun.
“Please… please give me my legs as soon as possible,” the man begged, his voice cracking with emotion. His eyes were red and filled with hope that had once died long ago.
Alexander didn’t speak right away.
He stepped closer, his polished black shoes making no sound on the spotless white floor. Then, slowly, he bent down beside the wheelchair, placing one hand firmly on the armrest—leaning in close.
His dark suit clung perfectly to his broad frame, his posture powerful without trying. His jaw was sharp, lips firm, and those deep, dark eyes stared straight into the man’s soul.
There was no warmth in them.
Only power.
And control.
“You’ll get your legs,” Alexander said calmly, his voice deep and smooth. “Soon. As soon as possible.”
