Chapter 227: Chapter 227 Disgusting old lady
The man blinked, hope flashing again in his face.
“But,” Alexander added, a slow smile curling on his lips, a dangerous kind of smile, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“You will help us. I want every warehouse. Every shipment route. Every dirty little place connected to Nyom Brown.”
He leaned in even closer, so the man could see his own reflection in Alexander’s eyes.
“You help me take him down… and I’ll make sure you don’t just walk again..You’ll rise.”
The man nodded quickly, his voice shaking. “Yes. I will help you. I know places. Hidden ones too. I remember all of them…”
Alexander straightened up, fixing the cuff of his black sleeve.
“Good,” he said with quiet finality.
Because mercy wasn’t what Alexander offered.
Deals were.
Alexander stood stright slowly, the cool glow of the lab lights tracing the edges of his tall frame. He didn’t speak again. The man in the wheelchair kept whispering promises and names, but Alexander had already looked away.
His expression shifted—
From cold and authoritative…
To blank.
Unreadable.
But behind those dark lashes, his eyes held a quiet shine.
A deep, dangerous glint.
Soon, Lilith.
Soon… when this war ends, when every snake has been cut from the roots,
I’ll come for you.
And I’ll make Sir Sparkleton wear a little waiter suit… holding wedding cake at our wedding.
He almost smiled. Almost.
Then his face hardened again.
Because before that moment comes…he still had devils to crush.

The place Grandma Bria brought them to was far, very far from the city. It was an old, hidden dock surrounded by wild cliffs and crashing ocean waves. The road to it was broken, and signs had been placed everywhere saying “No Entry – Dangerous Waters”.
Because under that deep blue water… were sharks. Many of them.
No one from the public was allowed to come here. The government had marked it as a danger zone, but that didn’t stop Grandma Bria. She owned too many dark paths in this world to be stopped by a sign.
Ava and Nova were tied up tightly. Their wrists were bound with thick brown rope behind their backs, and their ankles were tied to the old metal railing of the dock. They couldn’t run, and they couldn’t even stand properly.
They were standing on a shaky wooden platform above the sea, and when Ava looked down, her legs almost gave out.

Sharks. So many of them.
Circling. Waiting.
Nova’s face was pale as he peeked down, then looked to the side where Grandma Bria stood…her makeup thick, her eyes full of hate, and her smile worse than the shark’s teeth.
“You old lady without bones or morals! Why did you bring us here?!” Ava shouted, her voice shaking, but brave.
Bria raised her thin hand and pointed at one of the masked men beside her. The man lifted a gun slowly and pointed it at Ava’s chest.
“Young lady,” Grandma Bria said with a cold smirk, “open your mouth again… and it’ll be your last sentence.”
Ava’s lips trembled and her eyes widened in fear. She looked at Nova helplessly.
“Don’t be scared,” Nova said quietly, nudging her gently with his foot, since his hands were tied. “I’m with you. I won’t let anything happen.”
Bria laughed mockingly. “How sweet! You two think someone is coming to save you? Out here? In this place?” She looked at her watch. “Tsk. Ten more minutes, and if she doesn’t show up… you’re both going for a swim with my lovely sharks.”
“Lilith will come,” Ava whispered.
“She will,” Nova added, clenching his jaw.
Bria’s smile faded slightly.
She walked slowly across the old dock, the wooden planks creaking under her heels. Her fur coat swayed with the wind, though the sun was hot, and her thick perfume made Ava want to gag.
She stopped in front of them, hands behind her back, and tilted her head like a crow watching prey.
“You know,” Bria began, voice smooth but sharp like a rusted knife, “girls like Lilith… they’re good at pretending. Pretty face, sweet words, but rotten blood. No background, no class… just some orphan with a sharp tongue.”
Ava’s eyes narrowed in anger, but she said nothing.
Bria grinned.
“She thinks just because Sebastian protects her, she’s someone important?” she said, stepping closer. “He’s just a child with broken mind..in fact. You think she’s doing all this out of love?”
Nova scoffed, “Better love than someone who fakes kindness and throws people to sharks.”
Bria’s smile twitched.
“You think you’re clever, little boy? You’re just office rats. Background extras. Do you really think she’ll come here for you?” Bria spat, her voice turning bitter. “If I were her, I would’ve run away already and left you both for dead.”
“She’s not like you,” Ava said firmly. “Lilith doesn’t throw away people.”
Bria’s eyes narrowed. “Oh, I’ve met girls like her all my life. Beautiful, clever, but always greedy. Do you know what greedy girls deserve?”
She leaned in close, her breath cold and sour despite the heat.
“They deserve to fall. Hard.”
She straightened and clapped her hands once. The gunman behind her adjusted his stance, raising the weapon just slightly.
“Tick-tock. Time’s running out. Ten minutes left, and I’ll count each second with joy. Maybe I’ll watch the sharks take your arms first. Or maybe I’ll just push you and let the fear drown you slowly.”
Ava’s throat tightened.
Nova spoke softly again, “She’s coming, Ava… don’t be scared.”
Grandma Bria looked at the sea and chuckled to herself.
“But let’s be honest,” she muttered, almost to herself now, “what can one girl even do?”
Ava’s chest was rising and falling fast, not from fear anymore but pure rage. Her wrists were burning from the rough ropes, and her ankles were bruised, but she didn’t care.
She stared at Grandma Bria with fire in her eyes.
“You’re disgusting,” Ava said, her voice trembling not from fear but Anger. “You act like some classy old woman, but you’re just a monster. You don’t deserve your family. You don’t deserve love.”
Bria raised a brow, still smirking.
Ava’s voice grew louder, sharper. “You’ll burn. I swear someone like you, full of poison and hate—you’ll die a slow, painful death. And when it happens, no one will cry for you.”
Bria’s smile cracked.
“You’ll rot alone,” Ava hissed. “The sharks below are kinder than you.”
Nova looked at Ava in shock, whispering, “Ava… shhh.”
But she wasn’t stopping.
“And when Lilith finds you…because she will—you’ll beg for mercy,” Ava growled. “You’ll wish it was the sharks instead.”
For a long moment, silence filled the dock.
The waves crashed louder than before.
