Devilish secretary - Chapter 23
Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Ruthless plan Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Ruthless plan “Enough!” Mr.
Brooks, Rayan’s grandfather, bellowed, cutting through the tension in the room.
His voice echoed like thunder, causing everyone to pause.
“And Rayan, what’s your friend doing at our family dinner?” Hearing his words, Lia burst into tears, her eyes welling up with emotion.
She looked at Rayan, her voice trembling.
“I told you no one would like me at your family dinner…” she sobbed, then turned and ran upstairs, her footsteps echoing in the silence.
“Hey, the gate is that way!” Lilith called after her, her tone sarcastic, but it fell on deaf ears.
“Shut up!” Rayan shouted, his handsome face flushed with anger.
“What’s wrong with you all?
Lia is such a sweet person!
She always thinks of you, and why do you all treat her like this?” His frustration was palpable.
“And Lilith, don’t forget… she even helped you earn money with freelancing!
I know she kept that a secret, but I found out.
Because of her, you were able to buy your apartment!” Rayan’s voice rose, filled with indignation.
Wait-what?
Lilith’s expression darkened.
What a joke!
The original owner had worked hard on her own.
Lia probably didn’t even know what freelancing was.
“You know what?” A big smile crept onto Lilith’s face, a mix of amusement and defiance.
“I’ve never seen someone so blind as you.” “I don’t have time for this!” Rayan spat before racing upstairs, frustration spilling over into his every movement.
Upstairs, Lia rushed into the guest room, slamming the door behind her.
Rayan knocked urgently, his heart racing with panic.
“Lia!
Open the door!” he pleaded, but there was only silence from within.
“Get the maid!
Bring me a spare key!” he shouted, desperation creeping into his voice.
He could feel his frustration boiling over as he prepared to break the door down.
Down the hall, the commotion drew the attention of the others.

Brooks and the rest of the family gathered, their expressions a mix of concern and disapproval.
“Rayan, you can’t bring your friend home like this and make a scene!
What will Lilith think of us?” Mr.
Brooks admonished, his tone stern.
But Rayan was beyond caring.
He was only focused on Lia, on the hurt he had seen in her eyes.
He didn’t listen to the murmurs of his family as the maid hurried to his side, handing him the spare key.
With a quick twist, he unlocked the door and pushed it open, his breath catching in his throat at the sight that greeted him.
Inside the room, Lia was curled up on the bed, tears streaming down her face.
But it wasn’t just her distress that shocked him; the room was a mess, clothes strewn everywhere, and on the floor lay a broken vase.
And he saw Lia actually slit her wrist, her head resting on the bed, an eerie stillness enveloping the room.
Lilith looked on without any emotion, her mind racing, but her face remained blank.
This is unexpected, she thought.
She hadn’t anticipated this level of chaos.
“Call the ambulance!” Rayan shouted, panic cracking his voice as he rushed to her side, gathering Lia in his arms.
His heart pounded in his chest as he ran downstairs, desperately hoping it wasn’t too late.
He knew Lia was sensitive, but he never expected her to actually go this far.
As they burst through the front door, he shouted for one of the maids to call for help.
“Hurry!” One of the maids scrambled to grab a phone, but Rayan couldn’t wait.
He scooped Lia up and rushed to his car, his eyes wild with fear and determination.
As he placed her in the back seat, he felt a surge of anger toward Lilith.
His gaze locked onto hers, eyes burning crimson.
“It’s because of you!
This is all your fault!” he yelled, his voice thick with rage.
“Just wait.
I’ll deal with you later.” He slammed the car door and drove away, heart racing, fear clawing at him as he focused on getting Lia to the hospital.
“Dear, I’m sorry,” Amara tried to calm Lilith, her voice laced with fake concern.
“He’s just angry.
He didn’t mean it…” Lilith rolled her eyes, unimpressed by the woman’s attempts to soothe her.
She couldn’t care less about Rayan’s outburst.
She had seen the small cut on Lia’s wrist and knew it was harmless, just a minor slice meant to draw attention.
She understood injuries and their drama all too well; this was merely a tactic to garner sympathy.
In the car, as Rayan sped down the road, Lia slowly opened her eyes.
“Rayan, are you sure we’re doing this?” she asked, her voice trembling with uncertainty.
“Of course, baby,” Rayan replied, his focus unwavering as he stared ahead, a dark shadow crossing his face that made him appear ruthless.
“This is for us.
Just bear with me for a while.” He glanced at her briefly before returning his gaze to the road, a grim determination settling over him.
“I’m calling the police.” “Wait, what?” Lia’s heart raced, anxiety creeping into her voice.
“I’m going to call the police and get her arrested,” he said, a cruel smile creeping onto his lips.
“We won’t let her go until she begs on her knees to be set free.
This is just the beginning…” His laughter echoed in the confines of the car, sending chills down Lia’s spine.
“You have to make some sacrifices for us to be together, babe.
My family won’t allow us to marry otherwise.” “I understand!” Lia replied.
“Lili is my soul sister, but you’re my soulmate.
I’ll do anything for you, Ray.” “Good,” he said, satisfaction lacing his voice.
“Now, you have to act injured and weak.” Lia nodded, determination flaring in her eyes.
Rayan’s expression shifted, becoming more intense.
“I know a doctor who can help make your injuries look more critical.
We need it to be believable.
And don’t forget, you still have those videos, right?” He shot her a knowing look.
“Yes,” she replied, her voice steadying as she remembered the fake evidence they had against Lilith.
“I have them.” “Perfect,” Rayan said, a wicked grin stretching across his face.
“We’re going to make sure Lilith pays for everything she’s done.” He chuckled darkly.
