Devilish secretary - Chapter 235
Chapter 235: Chapter 235 Lilith soul mate
She looked at him, daring him to flinch. He didn’t.
“I was once the Queen of Hell,” Lilith whispered. “I ruled over chaos, flame, and death. But I wasn’t always cruel. I saved a god once. And in return, he promised me… if I ever died, I’d be reborn in another life.”
She smiled slightly.
“When I died, I thought I’d return to my throne in the underworld. But no. I opened my eyes here—in a body that wasn’t mine, in a world full of petty rules and offices.”
He was still speechless.
“And so,” she said softly, “I decided… maybe I’ll live normally. Try something new. Be a secretary. And then I heard about you—Sebastian Carter, the CEO who fired secretaries like they were tissues. I was… curious.”
Her voice dropped to a near-whisper.
“I thought it would be amusing. And you were.”
Alexander blinked slowly. His chest rose and fell.
“And now?” he asked.
She tilted her head, her lips almost brushing his.
“And now I don’t know who’s more dangerous,” she said. “You… or me.”
Alexander blinked, trying to process everything she had just confessed. His lips parted slightly, brows drawing together.
“So how old are you… exactly?” he asked, voice low with a hint of disbelief.
Lilith chuckled, her fingers lazily brushing through his hair.
“I don’t know… maybe a few centuries? I stopped counting after a while.” She laughed softly like it was a casual joke, but it only made his expression darken.
His jaw clenched slightly, and his eyes narrowed—not in fear.
In jealousy.
“Do you have a partner there?” he asked, his voice turning a shade colder. “You know, whatever they call it—mate, bond, soul-binding thing?”
She looked at him with a surprised smile.
He had heard the stories.
The myths.
The whispered legends about soul-bound lovers in hellish realms.
Lilith paused for a breath, and then—
“…Yes.”
His eyes instantly flickered red. Just a flash. But it was enough.
Jealousy crackled in the air like static.
She reached up calmly, cupped his face between her hands, and kissed his forehead softly, like soothing a furious storm.
“Did you and he…?” His voice dropped even lower, cautious. Possessive. Dangerous.
Lilith smirked. “Nope.”

He blinked again, confused.
And she added with a laugh, “Yes, I had a mate. But I never saw him—not even once. He was the Emperor of Hell, sealed long ago inside a cursed tomb. They say he was trapped in some reincarnation cycle. It was a big deal in that world.”
Alexander didn’t say a word. His fingers slowly gripped the edge of the blanket.
Lilith leaned in, her smile fading, replaced with something raw and beautiful.
“But I don’t care about him.”
She touched his chest, right over his heart.
“I only love you.”
Her voice was quiet. Certain. Unshaken.
“I chose this life. I chose you.”
And as her words sank into his soul, something inside him stilled..
The jealousy, the storm, the darkness.
Because in that moment, he realized—
He wasn’t just her present.
He was her only forever.
Alexander stared at her for a long moment, like she was the greatest riddle he’d ever come across.
Then, with furrowed brows and a quiet voice, he asked—
“So… is God real?”
Lilith burst out laughing.
He didn’t expect that.
Her laughter echoed gently in the room, soft but full of amusement.
“Oh, you’re adorable,” she said, brushing her thumb over his cheek.
“What? I’m serious.” His tone deepened. “You said you saved a god once—does that mean they actually exist?”
She nodded, still smiling.
“Yes, they do. They’re real. Annoyingly real.”
Alexander’s eyes narrowed.
“What do you mean by… annoying?”
Lilith rolled onto her back beside him, arms crossed behind her head, staring at the ceiling like she was watching stars only she could see.
“They’re all dramatic. Moody. Petty. One of them got mad once because someone forgot to light his temple candles. He cursed an entire city with sleepwalking.”
Alexander blinked.
“…You’re not joking?”
She looked at him, lips twitching. “Do I look like I joke about sleepy curses?”
He let out a small, stunned laugh.
“So they’re like children?” he asked.
Lilith smirked.
“Children with unlimited power and a flair for theatrics. Honestly, the only reason I saved one of them was because he offered me a favor in return. Gods are just overgrown energy beings with too many rules and no common sense.”
Alexander stared at her, slowly shaking his head.
“And here I thought I had a crazy life.”
She turned toward him again, eyes gleaming.
“Welcome to mine.”
And he smiled.
Alexander shifted closer on the bed, one hand lazily tracing circles on her hip beneath the blanket. His voice was lower now, soft with curiosity instead of jealousy.
“So… if gods are real,” he said slowly, “then what about heaven? Hell? All those punishments and soul-judging trials are they real too?”
Lilith snorted. “Parts of them, yes. But it’s not like your books say. There’s no old man on a throne judging souls one by one. Most of the time, souls are recycled, cleansed, or thrown into chaos. Depends on what they carried inside.”
He raised a brow. “So you’re saying hell doesn’t have burning lakes and screaming souls?”
She yawned and stretched like a lazy cat.
“Oh, that part’s real.”
He blinked. “…Seriously?”
“Mhm. But that’s just one floor,” she said with a smirk. “Hell is a big place. There are courts, markets, even quiet gardens. Punishment depends on the soul. Some end up cleaning bones for centuries. Some just vanish into ash. It’s complicated.”
Alexander looked both horrified and impressed.
“And you ruled that place?”
She turned her face to him, smirking. “They called me the Black Crown. I didn’t rule by cruelty, I ruled by fear and fairness. Balance. The real punishment is knowing the truth, not just burning flesh.”
Alexander stared. “You’re… terrifying.”
“Thank you,” she said sweetly, eyes closing for a moment.
He waited a beat before asking, “So… do demons actually make contracts like in those books?”
Lilith chuckled without opening her eyes. “They do. But they’re terrible with paperwork. I usually had to step in and fix it before they created another loophole war.”
Alexander couldn’t help but laugh. Her stories were insane. Real. And strangely addictive.
“Alright… final question.”
