Devilish secretary - Chapter 24
Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Secrets Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Secrets Rayan took Lia to the hospital, feeling proud as he stood in the hallway.
He smiled as he called the police, telling them a story about how his friend had been mentally abused by Lilith, which led to her suicide attempt.
Just as he finished the call, a sudden slap hit his cheek, shocking him.
“What did you do, Rayan?” His grandfather glared at him, his anger clear.
“Grandpa…” Rayan’s voice shook, feeling mixed emotions.
“Be quiet!” his grandfather shouted, making Rayan flinch.
“Do you really think we should marry someone useless with no good background?
Do you even know who Lilith is?” His voice turned serious.
“Do you understand how much marrying Lilith could help us?” Rayan felt confused, his earlier belief fading away.
“What are you hiding from me?” he yelled, frustration boiling as he touched his sore cheek.
His grandfather looked stressed, the weight of their family’s reputation heavy on him.
“You’re useless!
You’ve made your choice!
Now fix this and clear Lilith’s name because she is…” He leaned in and whispered something that shocked Rayan.
“You’re telling the truth…” Rayan stuttered, disbelief washing over him.
“What should I do now?” His grandfather’s expression softened a bit.
“You need to get close to Lilith again.
Show her you care and earn her trust.
If we can get her on our side, she can help us in ways you can’t imagine…” *** Lilith, on the other hand, had an indifferent expression on her face, with a slight, amused smile.
She watched as the police suddenly arrested her, the officers moving swiftly to place her in handcuffs.
Despite the situation, she remained calm, her eyes reflecting a mix of curiosity and amusement.
As they led her to the police station, she seemed to find the whole experience more surprising than frightening.
The female police officer was surprised by Lilith’s calmness and gentle smile as she took her into the interrogation room.
Lilith looked beautiful and composed, but there was something strange about her that made the officer feel uneasy.
It seemed like there was something dangerously charming about this woman.
After putting Lilith in the room, the officer turned to leave, but Lilith’s voice stopped her.
“Excuse me, could you please get me some water?
And maybe a snack?
I’ve been working all day at the office, and I’m really hungry,” Lilith said lightly, with no shame in her tone.
The officer blinked in surprise, unsure of what to say.

Here was a woman accused of making an innocent girl want to end her life, yet she was acting like she was just asking for lunch.
It was both annoying and confusing.
“Um… okay, I’ll see what I can do,” the officer replied, her voice shaky as she nodded and stepped out.
She couldn’t understand how someone facing serious charges could seem so relaxed.
Once alone, Lilith leaned back in her chair, her smile getting bigger.
She knew her calmness was working-she was making them feel uneasy.
In her mind, she was already planning what to do next.
What will they do now?
she thought.
They might think they have me trapped, but they have no idea who they’re dealing with.
When the officer returned with a glass of water and a small sandwich, she was again struck by Lilith’s easy charm.
“Thank you, Miss.
You’re very kind,” Lilith said, her voice sounding sweet as she took the food. The officer forced a smile and felt shocked again.
*** Rayan felt a surge of panic as he listened to his hired doctor spinning tales about Lia’s supposed depression and mental abuse.
The doctor painted a picture far from the truth, claiming to have found numerous marks of self-harm on Lia’s body.
Of course, Rayan knew this was a lie.
“No, officer, Lilith can’t do that!
I’m willing to take back the charges!” Rayan blurted out, desperation lacing his voice.
He noticed the hired doctor’s eyes widen in shock, but the doctor continued to play his part, feigning concern as if Rayan were truly Lilith’s fiancé.
“Mr.
Brooks, do you have any idea what that girl has gone through?
If you hadn’t brought her in time, she could have almost died,” the doctor said, adopting a fake disappointed expression that made Rayan’s blood boil.
“Sorry, Mr.
Brooks, but we have evidence against Miss Lilith Parker, and you can’t drop the complaint unless the victim chooses to withdraw it,” the police officer replied seriously, crossing his arms.
“She will drop the complaint!” Rayan nearly shouted, frustration and panic bubbling to the surface.
“Lilith is a good girl!
She always thinks of others before herself.
Lia must be lying; she’s just jealous of Lilith because she’s engaged to our Rayan!” Mr.
Brooks interjected, fervently defending Lilith.
The police officer shook his head firmly.
“No!
We will investigate the entire case.
If I find that any of you are pressuring the victim to withdraw her charges, I will take action against all of you.” With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Rayan feeling increasingly frantic.
Rayan felt his heart racing.
Lia!
He thought desperately, knowing that she might just help him in this moment.
He rushed to the ward, finding Lia asleep.
He tried to wake her, shaking her gently, but she didn’t respond.
The doctor had sedated her with sleeping pills to make her seem weaker, and frustration bubbled up inside him.
“Lia, please wake up,” he pleaded softly, feeling helpless.
But she lay still, and the weight of uncertainty pressed down on him.
What should I do now?
His thoughts spiraled, and he felt like he was losing control.
**** And on the other hand, Sebastian’s face was cloaked in shadow as he leaned against the window, holding a glass of deep red wine, his tailored black suit accentuating his strong physique.
He had told his psychotherapist about “his” weird attraction to Lilith, and the therapist said it was normal; “he” might be attracted to beautiful women.
However, because of “his” attraction, he was having problems.
He didn’t feel anything for Lilith; he felt she was dangerous for him because “he” was attracted to her.
