Chapter 247: Chapter 247 He was too clingy
Lilith’s eyes sparkled softly as she caught his reflection in the mirror. She knew exactly what he was thinking, and she smiled inwardly, choosing to ignore him instead.
Ray couldn’t stay silent for long. He fidgeted slightly behind her, letting out a sigh as he finally voiced his complaint.
“I came all the way here after such a long time,” he muttered, his voice softly filled with disappointment. “And Miss Mystery hasn’t even given me a kiss—let alone said she missed me!”
His voice was purposefully exaggerated, layered thick with playful sadness, hoping to coax some attention from Lilith. He glanced at her reflection again, hoping to catch some sympathy.
Lilith paused, her slender fingers delicately patting moisturizer onto her smooth skin. Her lips twitched into a gentle, amused smile at his adorable complaint, though she still didn’t turn around. Instead, she continued her skincare slowly, enjoying the slight torment she was causing him.
“Miss Mystery,” Ray whined again, dramatically falling onto the bed, spreading his arms wide like a sad starfish. “Did you stop loving me already? How could you?”
Lilith chuckled lightly, finally turning slightly towards him, her gaze soft yet teasing. “Stop being so dramatic,” she said, gently tapping her cheek with her fingertips to let the cream sink into her skin.
“But I came here with so much effort,” he mumbled, rolling onto his side to watch her with exaggerated puppy eyes. “I climbed a whole balcony, risked my precious life, and all I got was a scolding.”
Lilith rolled her eyes fondly, finally setting aside her skincare products. She gracefully stood from the vanity and slowly approached the bed, her movements deliberately smooth and captivating.
She leaned over slightly, placing a gentle finger under his chin, forcing him to look directly into her mesmerizing eyes. Her gaze held both playful affection and warmth.
“You’re so spoiled,” she said softly, her voice a teasing whisper.
Ray’s eyes brightened immediately, a hopeful smile spreading across his face, making him look even more innocent and adorable. “So… does that mean you’ll kiss me now?” he asked boldly, eyes twinkling mischievously yet full of sincerity.
Lilith laughed softly, a sound both beautiful and rare. She leaned down slowly, her lips gently brushing against his in a soft kiss…sweet enough to make his heart flutter and bold enough to silence all his dramatic complaints.
As she pulled back, her voice was a gentle murmur, full of warmth, “Satisfied now, Mr. Sunshine?”
Ray’s smile widened blissfully, his cheeks slightly flushed. He looked up at her as though she had gifted him the entire universe.
“More than satisfied,” he whispered back, smiling brightly and pulling her closer, holding her gently like a precious treasure. “I missed you so much, my Miss Mystery.”
Ray blinked, his dark long lashes fluttering as he looked up at her from where he laid with his head on her stomach, his body stretched out comfortably between her legs. The position was undeniably intimate, but his presence was warm and innocent like a sunshine boy who simply wanted to be close to someone he loved.
“Really??” Lilith asked, her fingers lazily carding through his messy hair, the strands soft and warm beneath her touch. She couldn’t help but let a helpless smile curl on her lips. He was too clingy. Too close. Too sweet. But somehow, she didn’t mind. With him, it didn’t feel like she had to pretend.
Ray’s eyes sparkled, filled with admiration. “Yeah! And it’s so cool! You’re really the Queen of Hell???” he asked again, like a child asking his favorite bedtime story for the hundredth time.
Lilith hummed in response, nonchalant but proud.
“Hehehe!” he giggled like a happy little devil. “People always say ‘do good karma so you can go to heaven’… but me? I’ll do whatever I want! I’ll go to hell with you!” he said dramatically, throwing his arms up for emphasis before resting again on her. “Now I’m not even scared of death! Heheh…”
She paused, her fingers in his hair slowing down.
“Don’t talk about death,” Lilith said softly, her voice dropping just a note, serious and cold.
Ray blinked at her again, confused by the shift.
“Why?” he asked, his voice quieter now.
Lilith looked up at the ceiling, her fingers still. The light from the lamp cast soft shadows over her face.
“Because people like you… shouldn’t even whisper about death. You’re not meant for pain,” she said, her voice calm, almost a whisper. “If you ever die before me… I’ll burn down the sky to bring you back.”
Ray stared at her, his wide eyes filled with awe. Then slowly, he sat up, leaning close to her face, looking into her ocean-blue eyes.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he said seriously, cupping her cheek with one hand. “Even if you try to send me away—I’ll follow. Even if you throw me out of your hell, I’ll build a home at your gates.”
Lilith’s expression didn’t change, but her heart gave a soft tug.

“…You talk too much,” she muttered, flicking his forehead gently.
“Ouch!” Ray pouted, rubbing the spot. “Still, you love me.”
And Lilith sighed..Unfortunately, that was true.
Ray rested his chin on her stomach again, looking up at her like a curious kitten, his fingers gently playing with the edge of her nightdress. His voice was soft now, curious and full of wonder, like he was listening to a story he didn’t want to end.
“Did you… have friends in your old world?” he asked carefully.
Lilith was silent for a moment.
Then, with a calm voice, she replied, “No. Only followers. Warriors. Servants. But not friends.”
Ray blinked. “No one you laughed with?”
She shook her head slightly. “I wasn’t allowed to laugh, Ray. I ruled.”
Ray’s eyes dimmed a little, his playful mood shifting into something softer. He thought for a second before asking, “What about love?”
Lilith looked down at him, a shadow passing through her gaze. “Love was dangerous. In my world, if you loved, you lost.”
“But you said… you had a mate,” he whispered, eyes wide.
“I did. But we never met.”
