Devilish secretary - Chapter 250
Chapter 250: Chapter 250 Picnic
Ethan felt all eyes on him, and after a dramatic sigh, he finally broke the silence.
“Fine, fine! Since you’re all staring like that—when Lilith went missing, that old Evil granny actually tried to force me to marry Leia!” he scoffed, clearly offended at the memory.
“And Leia is Sienna’s best friend. Hump! That girl is pure evil and she’s obsessed with that fool Liam!”
He rolled his eyes hard, like the very thought gave him a headache. Then, he ran a hand through his hair dramatically.
“I mean, seriously! How should I marry anyone just like that? Do I look like a guy with zero taste? I have standards, alright? And I can’t fall for a girl just by looking at her once—I’m not that easy!”
There was a short pause, just enough for tension to build..
Until Sir Sparkleton suddenly blinked, his red lights glowing brighter.
“ACCORDING TO CALCULATIONS FROM YOUR ASTRO CHART, TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO FIND TRUE LOVE.”
The car went silent for two seconds.
Ethan slowly turned to the robot, his expression blank.
“Shut up. Did you just become an astrologer now?”
Sir Sparkleton beeped proudly. “YES! SYSTEM UPGRADED WITH WEEKLY HOROSCOPES! COMPATIBILITY LEVEL: LUCKY WITH FIRE SIGNS!”
Ethan rubbed his temples. “First he’s my alarm clock, then chef, then nanny and now he’s predicting my love life?”
Ray couldn’t hold it anymore he burst out laughing, clutching his stomach.
Ray trusted his robot’s logic, so he shrugged and said, “Maybe he’s not wrong, Ethan. A little cosmic help wouldn’t hurt, you knooow~~”
Ethan muttered, “If I find love today, I’ll tattoo Sparkleton’s name on my forehead.”
Sir Sparkleton beeped excitedly. “ACCEPTED! SYSTEM READY TO ASSIST WEDDING PLANS!”
Ethan nearly jumped out the window.
And Lilith ignored them, quietly looking out of the window. Sunlight touched her face gently, but her expression didn’t change. She didn’t care about their nonsense. Her fingers were resting on her lap, and her eyes stayed fixed on the moving trees like they were far more important than anything happening in the car.
And Ethan focused on the fact that today… his brother looked extraordinarily happy.
More cheerful than usual.
He glanced at him again—was it just him or was he smiling to himself while looking outside?
Maybe because he is happy today!
So Ethan, being Ethan, leaned forward excitedly and suddenly started talking about bikes!
Randomly.
“Bro, I love bikes, you know that? But no one in our house understands! Grandpa says it’s dangerous, my dad only cares about his fancy food, and mom… don’t even get me started!”
He sighed dramatically and kept going.
But what shocked him was…
His brother replied.
And not just that, he actually knew a lot about bikes too!

“Oh my god,” Ethan blinked, looking at him like he just discovered gold. “Bro, where were you hiding all these years?! We’re clearly soul brothers! Seriously!”
Ray laughed. He actually laughed.
A soft laugh that made Ethan pause for a second. It felt innocent. Like a kid who was talking to someone properly after a long, long time.
Ray was enjoying too…
He usually only talked with Lilith… and sometimes with Alex, darkness and Gray.
He had barely spoken to anyone else.
Other than that, he never had conversations like this.
But Ethan was loud, funny, curious and didn’t treat him like he was strange or fragile.
Ray liked that.
So he smiled and nodded as Ethan kept talking about bike races, stickers, accident stories, and how he once painted his helmet pink by mistake because the paint store guy tricked him.
Lilith didn’t say anything. But she peeked at them once… and shook her head softly.
Boys.

The picnic spot was really pretty. Soft grass stretched across the open field, and nearby, there was a gorgeous lake that sparkled gently under the sunlight. The water was calm, and a few white birds floated lazily across it like they had all the time in the world. A huge tree stood proudly near the lake, its branches wide, giving everyone the perfect shade to sit under. The wind felt cool and fresh, brushing against their faces like a quiet hello.
Grandpa Arthur was sitting on a blanket, talking softly with Rose. His voice was low, serious at first. He was trying to talk about the things he couldn’t do for her in the past… the years he missed, the birthdays, the stories he never told. And Rose was listening with a soft smile, not blaming him, just nodding slowly.
Somehow the topic slowly drifted toward painting. Rose said she always liked painting potrait, lakes and trees… and Grandpa’s eyes lit up, because he used to paint too, once upon a time. So they started talking about brushes, colors, and that one painting he ruined because the cat ran over it.
Meanwhile—
Ray and Ethan were talking non-stop. Literally.
Like two schoolboys who discovered they both loved the same cartoon.
And honestly, it was blinding.
Everyone were stealing glances at them from time to time.
After all… it was a strange phenomenon.
The cold, silent, ruthless-looking man…who barely ever spoke more than two words was now smiling? Laughing? Talking so much?? Some even wondered if he was drunk on lake air.
He looked so cheerful that it was hard to believe he was the same person.
Ethan was doing most of the talking, but Ray was actually replying and adding jokes.
Even Nova, who had been quiet earlier, slowly joined them and started talking about bikes and cars. And how once his car alarm kept going off at midnight every day… turned out a squirrel was living in the engine.
Ethan laughed so hard he dropped his water bottle, and Ray’s face turned red from laughing quietly.
And just like that… they became a little group of three, sitting near the tree, lost in endless talks about engines, wheels, racing games, and stories.
And who was left out?
Lilith.
Ava.
And Sir Sparkleton.
The three of them walked quietly along the edge of the lake, their footsteps soft on the grass.
Lilith had her arms crossed behind her back, eyes calmly looking at the water, her expression unreadable but peaceful. Ava walked beside her, phone in hand, scrolling through something as she giggled here and there. They didn’t talk much, but it wasn’t awkward. It felt… calm.
Sir Sparkleton was following behind like a loyal robot duck.
And of course, he wouldn’t stop talking.
“MISS LILITH, WE ARE CURRENTLY 3.2 METERS FROM THE LAKE SHORE.”
“MISS AVA, THE STONE TO YOUR LEFT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 2.7 KILOGRAMS.”
“WARNING: LEAF AHEAD. SLIPPERY SURFACE MAYBE.”
Lilith didn’t even turn around.
“One day, I’ll bury him right here and plant a flower on top.”
Ava giggled. “Make sure it’s a cactus. He deserves something pointy.”
