Chapter 288: Chapter 288 Leave my son
Lilith walked toward Sienna slowly, each step calm, almost graceful as if she wasn’t inside a jail cell, but a throne room. Her eyes never left the woman curled against the wall, and the smile on her lips didn’t fade.

“What you did with my man…” she whispered, her voice low, chilling. “That wasn’t just wrong, Sienna. That was stupid.” Sienna’s lips trembled as she shook her head, sliding further back, but there was nowhere to go. Her voice was dry with fear.

“Don’t… don’t come near me—”

But Lilith was already kneeling.

One hand reached out and grabbed Sienna by the wrist—not roughly, not fast, but with precision.

Sienna gasped, her body jerking as Lilith’s fingers pressed against a small point near her shoulder, sending a sharp bolt of pain through her entire arm.

“You like touching what doesn’t belong to you, don’t you?” Lilith said softly, her face close, her tone almost pitying. “Then let me teach you… what that feels like.”

She moved slowly, methodically. Not like someone attacking in anger but like someone who knew the human body too well. Pressure against a joint. A single twist that brought shooting pain without blood.

Fingers pressing into spots that made it hard to breathe, hard to think. Sienna cried out, her voice caught somewhere between panic and sobbing. “Stop—please stop!”

Lilith didn’t stop.

Her expression remained calm, eyes cold.

She whispered as she leaned closer, “You wanted to see him naked, didn’t you? Did you enjoy hurting me just to feel powerful, Sienna?” She twisted her grip gently—not enough to break, just enough to remind Sienna she could. “Did you think he would ever love a rotting soul like yours?”

Sienna sobbed, clutching her arms as her body curled in on itself.

Lilith stood up slowly, brushing the creases from her uniform.

“I’m not like you,” she said simply. “I don’t need to scream to get what I want.”

She leaned down one last time, eyes burning cold as frost.

“I already took everything back.”

Then, without another word, she turned her back to the trembling woman and walked toward the cell door.

After Lilith walked out of the cell, everything felt silent. Empty. Cold. Sienna lay on the floor, her back pressed against the concrete wall, her breath shallow, her lips trembling. Her body felt paralyzed. Not broken, not wounded in blood but in a way that was worse. Her muscles twitched, her nerves screamed silently. She couldn’t explain it—what Lilith had done.

There were no scars, no wounds… but every inch of her body pulsed with pain, like something inside had been rearranged, twisted, and left to rot. Her arms wouldn’t lift. Her legs trembled whenever she moved.

Her skin felt like fire had kissed it from the inside. And through it all… she was alive. Painfully alive. She stayed like that the entire night—curled in her corner, eyes wide, lips dry, breath uneven.

Her mind repeated Lilith’s words over and over. “I already took everything back.” She wanted to scream. She wanted to disappear. But the night passed slowly, and the pain didn’t leave.

By morning, her voice was gone, her tears had dried, and her body still hurt. Like it was dying in pieces. But no matter how hard she wished for it—

She didn’t die.

Lilith changed into a soft ivory sweater and loose black pants before returning to the hospital. Her hair was untied now, falling down her shoulders in soft waves, but her face was still calm—too calm. She didn’t speak to anyone as she entered, her heels quiet on the floor, her steps steady despite the tightness in her chest. The moment she stepped into the hallway near the ICU, she saw them—his parents, standing near the benches, faces pale and eyes restless. Rose was sitting nearby, holding a cup of untouched tea, her expression full of worry. Ethan stood with Tara, both trying to stay composed, but their eyes flicked toward every doctor walking past like they were waiting to hear either heaven or hell.

Lilith had just taken two steps forward when suddenly—

His mother looked up.

Their eyes met.

And in the next second—Lilith felt the sting of a hand across her cheek.

Slap.

The sound echoed across the corridor. Everyone froze.

Lilith stood still.

Even the nurse near the door stopped walking.

“Can’t you take care of him properly?” his mother shouted, tears falling as her voice cracked. “It’s because of you! If you had watched over him—protected him like you were supposed to—” her voice broke again as she sobbed, her hands shaking.

Lilith didn’t respond. Her cheek burned, but she didn’t touch it. Her hands stayed still by her sides. Her lips didn’t tremble. Her eyes didn’t blink.

It was Rose who rushed forward, pulling her mother back. “Mom! What are you saying?! Are you crazy?!” she cried, shocked. “Sister Lilith had nothing to do with this—”

Even Ethan stepped in, brows furrowed in disbelief. “Auntie, that’s not fair. She didn’t do anything wrong!”

Tara looked frozen, unable to speak.

The tension hadn’t settled yet when Ana stepped forward again, wiping her tears but still breathing hard, her chest rising with every angry word. “And where were you?” she asked coldly, eyes sharp, voice louder this time. “Where have you been all time? Everyone here was worried sick and you—what were you doing?” Her voice trembled, not just from anger, but from helplessness.

Lilith stood silent for a moment.

Her face was calm.

Too calm.

She didn’t bother answering right away. Her hands remained folded, her gaze still fixed on the ICU door, as if she didn’t want to waste even one second looking away from it. And then, finally, her voice came out low. Quiet. But sharp enough to silence everyone.

“I tolerated you just now because you’re his mother.”

The air shifted. Everyone turned their eyes to her.

Her words weren’t loud but they echoed like a slap across marble walls.

Ana’s eyes widened, stunned. But she recovered fast, her pride wounded. “You don’t need to tolerate me,” she snapped back, her voice now full of cold fury. “Just leave my son.”

The silence that followed was unbearable.

Lilith turned her head slowly, her eyes finally meeting Ana’s.

“I never needed your permission to love him,” she said Coldy. “And I don’t need it now.”

Then she looked away again, as if Ana’s presence had already become irrelevant.
