Chapter 293: Chapter 293 Leaving rose manor
Then, slowly, he walked over.

He didn’t say anything.

Instead, he crouched down in front of her, his eyes level with hers. His hands gently reached for hers, stopping them mid-fold. “I don’t want you to leave,” he said softly, his voice husky. “And now you’ve even resigned from your secretary post. Where am I going to find someone as capable as you?”

Lilith raised an eyebrow at him, but her lips curled slightly. “Don’t worry,” she replied with a teasing lilt, brushing his cheek softly. “In my free time, I’ll still do your work—part-time secretary. Special service.”

Alexander didn’t smile.

He leaned in, resting his head against her lap, arms wrapping around her waist as he sat on his knees in front of her.

“That’s not what I meant,” he whispered. “My whole day will feel off… if I don’t see your pretty face first thing in the morning.”

Lilith’s smile faded into something gentler. She stroked his hair quietly, fingertips brushing back the soft strands from his forehead. “So dramatic,” she murmured.

He closed his eyes, tightening his hold around her.

“I’m serious. You’ve spoiled me, Lili… I don’t even know how to breathe right without you in the room.”

She looked down at him, her hand resting gently over his heart. “Even if you don’t see me,” she whispered, “I’ll be there.”

The quiet room shifted again when the door creaked open—and in marched Sir Sparkleton, dragging behind him a ridiculously tiny rolling suitcase that wobbled with every proud step. “MISS LILITH! I HAVE PACKED MY ENTIRE BAG. WE CAN LEAVE IMMEDIATELY,” he declared in his usual robotic tone, standing tall like a soldier reporting for duty.

Lilith blinked, mildly surprised, and then a soft smile tugged at her lips. “Oh?” she said, amused. “What exactly did you pack?”

Sir Sparkleton lifted his chin—or at least tilted his metal faceplate upward. “IMPORTANT ITEMS: ONE GLASS CLEANING CLOTH. ONE PHOTO OF MASTER. THREE CHARGERS. TWENTY FILES WITH SECRETS OF THIS WORLD. AND… A LOLLIPOP I STOLE FROM MISS ROSE’S DRAWER.”

Lilith laughed gently under her breath, clearly entertained.

Alexander, meanwhile, had given up fighting her departure and had sulked his way back onto the bed, turning onto his side with a huff. His fingers brushed over a pile of clothes Lilith had half-packed. He lazily picked up a piece of soft fabric—only to freeze the moment he realized what it was.

Her inner.

His entire body stilled.

His fingers twitched.

His brain screamed Put it down! but his hands moved too slow and the universe laughed harder when the silky thing slipped from his hand and fell… right onto his face.

His cheeks turned red instantly.

His eyes widened as he yanked it off in horror and quickly shoved it under the nearest pillow like it never existed.

And then He slowly peeked at Lilith.

She hadn’t noticed.

She was still talking to Sir Sparkleton.

He exhaled in quiet relief, rubbing the back of his neck, pretending nothing happened.

But his ears were still red.

“All right,” Lilith said gently, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she looked at the half-packed suitcase. “Help me pack the rest of the clothes, Sparkleton.”

Sir Sparkleton straightened instantly, pride blooming through every mechanical movement. “ORDER RECEIVED! INITIATING ASSISTANT MODE!” he chirped in his robotic voice, setting his tiny suitcase down with great ceremony. It flopped open to reveal a few chargers tangled with candy wrappers and what appeared to be a drawing of Lilith done in crayon by Rose. He pushed it aside with great dignity and rolled toward her suitcase.

Surprisingly… he was very good at it.

His tiny metal hands folded each garment with precision, flattening sleeves, aligning edges, and gently patting each piece before placing it inside. Lilith blinked in surprise, watching him for a moment, then leaned back slightly on her hands with a soft chuckle. “Where did you learn to fold like that?”

As Lilith stood at the entrance of Rose Manor, suitcase by her side, she felt arms wrap tightly around her waist from the side. Rose had run up to her and buried her face in Lilith’s coat, her soft sobs barely hidden. “I’ll miss you, Sister Lilith,” she said, voice muffled but trembling. “But I trust you. You can do anything… And next time, when you come back to this house…” she looked up with teary eyes and a wobbly smile, “please come as my sister-in-law.”

Alexander, who stood just a few steps away, suddenly felt his heart skip—not once, but twice. Something about Rose’s soft words struck him harder than expected, and for a second, he looked away, pretending he hadn’t heard. But the warmth behind his ears betrayed him.

Meanwhile, Loki stood on the porch with his tail swishing slowly. His glowing eyes narrowed at Lilith. She’s leaving me with this pheasant human girl? This sugar-smelling, hyper, drama-filled mortal? His fur bristled slightly as he sulked. She hugs me ten times a day like I’m a stuffed toy! I didn’t ask for this life. Is being this handsome a crime?!

He looked away, but when Lilith turned to glance at him, he trotted over, brushing lightly against her leg. “Tch… I’ll allow you to leave,” he said with a sigh, like a war general sending his most trusted warrior into the unknown. “But return victorious, Elder Sister.”

Then Alexander stepped forward, keys dangling from his fingers. “Let me drop you,” he said, voice softer now.

Lilith looked at him for a second, then nodded quietly.

Sir Sparkleton rolled behind them, straightening his small tie. “THANK YOU, MASTER. YOUR GENEROUS HEART WILL BE RECORDED IN MY MEMORY CORE.”

Alexander muttered something under his breath, clearly embarrassed, but he held the car door open anyway.

As he drove, the city passed quietly around them. She didn’t say much. Neither did he. It wasn’t silence—it was comfort. That rare kind of silence that only belonged to two people who didn’t need to talk to feel each other.

But as the car turned near her old apartment complex, Lilith shook her head with a small smile. “Not there,” she said simply.

“Huh?” Alexander glanced at her, confused.

“That apartment was destroyed. The pipes burst. The entire thing’s torn apart. I haven’t even renovated it,” she said with a soft chuckle, her eyes glinting in the afternoon sun. “Of course I’m not going there.”

Alexander blinked. “Then where are we going?”
