Chapter 299: Chapter 299 Nothing felt fine
Even in all his hunger, he still hesitated. “You don’t… have to.”

But she didn’t even blink.

Her eyes lifted dark, knowing, and steady.

“I want to.”

Her voice was calm and certain.

And before he could say another word, her fingers slipped beneath his shirt and slowly lifted the fabric. Inch by inch. She revealed his toned stomach, warm and tensed beneath her touch. He sucked in a sharp breath the moment her gaze dropped to it.

Then she leaned down and pressed her lips to his abs.

Her hand rested flat against his side, rubbing gently in slow circles, like she wasn’t just touching muscle but grounding him. His head tipped back slightly, jaw tight, as her mouth moved…one kiss, then another. Her lips left a soft trail across his skin, and his hands gripped the sheets helplessly beside him.

His breath became ragged.

And in that moment, as her hair fell across his lap and her warmth spread through every nerve in his body…

Her hands went lower.

His breath hitched—deep, shaky.

She was slow, unhurried, eyes locked on his face like she was watching him come undone piece by piece.

His hands gripped the sheets tighter. His chest rose and fell faster with each second.

Her fingers grazed his waistband—

KNOCK. KNOCK.

“MISS LILITH! I FOUND YOUR MOISTURIZER IN MY ROOM. IT IS 73% FULL. SHALL I RETURN IT OR KEEP FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES?”

Alexander froze.

Lilith blinked.

Both of them stared at the door like it had just declared war.

Sir Sparkleton’s voice continued cheerfully. “ALSO, SHOULD I ADJUST THE WATER HEATER SETTINGS FOR YOUR NEXT SHOWER OR—”

“SPARKLETON.” Lilith’s voice was dangerously calm.

“YES, MISS?”

“Not. Now.”

A pause.

Then a faint metallic beep.

“ACKNOWLEDGED. CLOSING SERVICE MODE. I SENSED… AN INTIMATE PROCEDURE IN PROGRESS.”

Alexander buried his face in his hands.

Lilith sat back, hiding a smirk behind her fingers.

Lilith’s laughed as she pulled the blanket over both of them.

He peeked at her through his fingers.

“…I hate your robot.”

She chuckled, leaning closer.

“Then behave… or I’ll let him watch next time.”

He didn’t say anything.

Just pulled her into his arms, burying his face into the crook of her neck. His body was warm and a little tense, like he’d been holding in something for far too long. The weight of the interrupted moment still lingered in the air, but now it was replaced by something quieter. Deeper.

He held her close, too close. Like he was afraid she’d disappear if he loosened his grip even slightly.

Lilith tilted her head and smiled faintly, fingers brushing against the back of his neck. “You’re stiff again,” she murmured, her voice soft near his ear. “Do you want help?”

A low hum vibrated from his chest. “…Mmm.”

She raised an eyebrow.

“What’s that, human doll?” she teased, her tone sweet and just a little smug. “Speak in real words. Don’t hum like a guilty kitten.”

Alexander didn’t lift his head.

His voice was muffled against her shoulder. “I want help.”

Lilith let out a quiet laugh, her fingers trailing lightly down his back.

“That’s better,” she said, eyes half-lidded, lips brushing the side of his ear. “Now tell me what kind of help…”

He finally pulled back a little to meet her eyes, his gaze darker now.

“The kind only you can give.”

“Daddy! Take me out of this place!” Sienna sobbed, clinging to the bars as her father stood across from her, arms crossed, face carved in stone.

Mr. Blake didn’t move. His expensive coat sat perfectly over his shoulders, but his eyes usually filled with blind affection for his daughter—now burned with cold Anger.

“I told you…” he said lowly, each word deliberate, “not to provoke him. Not to go after that woman. Not to act like a rabid child.”

Sienna sniffled, but before she could speak, he cut her off with a sharp wave of his hand.

“And what do I find out instead?” His voice rose, angrier now. “That you had a string of boyfriends behind my back? That some of them came forward to make statements?” He nearly spat the word. “I had to pay them off, Sienna. Bribe them to keep their mouths shut.”

She opened her mouth, but—

“Huh! Nothing to say now?” he snapped. “No excuses? No crocodile tears?”

“Daddy, I—”

“Rot here,” he said, coldly stepping back. “Rot here until the air clears. That Sebastian Carter is watching every move I make. I can’t protect you if you keep setting fires.”

Then his expression twisted, bitter. “Your brother’s back. He’ll take control of the business.”

Sienna’s breath caught.

Him?

That stepbrother of hers, the one who’d been raised far away, sent abroad when he was young. Who had always looked down on her, who smirked every time she tried to throw tantrums. He was a playboy, yes but dangerously smart. Charming. Manipulative. The kind of man who knew how to twist hearts and break them just to see what would happen.

She clenched her fists as her father turned and walked away.

Her nails bit into her skin.

That bastard… he always hated her.

But then Her expression slowly changed as a spark lit in her teary eyes.

What if he fell in love with Lilith?

Her stepbrother… he was the kind of man who, once he wanted a woman, would go to any lengths to get her.

Money.

Power.

Ruin.

Anything.

And Sienna smiled, soft and venomous.

“Let’s see how long your little kingdom lasts, Lilith… when a monster like him comes knocking.”

Sienna let out a loud, bitter laugh that echoed off the cold, stained walls of the holding cell. Her voice bounced back at her, sounding more like a cracked doll than the pampered heiress she once was.

But then pain gripped her side.

Her body flinched, and she slowly slumped back to the corner of the cell with a hiss, clutching her ribs. Every movement burned. Every breath reminded her of that night.

Her father had sent a private doctor after learning about her situation from his assistant—the one who came to talk with her yesterday.

But even the doctor, after a full check, had said, “She’s physically fine.”

Fine.

That word made her want to scream.

Because nothing felt fine.
