Chapter 301: Chapter 301 I want to become a doctor
After Alexander left for the company, his smell still lingering faintly in the sheets, and his warmth barely faded from the air, Lilith reached for her phone, hair still damp from her shower.
She scrolled to Nina’s name and pressed call.
The phone rang once.
Twice.
“Hello, Lili!” Nina answered with a cheerful voice, already energetic despite the hour. Lilith’s lips curved softly at the sound. Familiar. Comfortable.
“You’re calling me early,” Nina teased. “Wait—don’t tell me you’ve decided to accept my proposal?”
There was a pause.
And then—
“…Yes,” Lilith said.
There was a rustle on the other side.
“…Wait, are you joking?” Nina’s voice dropped, now breathless.
“No.”
“Oh my goodness!” Nina squealed. “Wait—no way—am I dreaming? I’m not dreaming, right? Lili, you can’t back out now! I’m sending you the address! You’re meeting the director today! 3 PM sharp!”
And with that, Nina hung up before Lilith could even reply.
Lilith stared at the phone for a second.
Then slowly stood.
By 9:30 AM, she had showered, dressed, and tied her damp hair into a clean bun. Her face was bare of makeup, but her expression was razor sharp. She opened her laptop and logged into the Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal.
She filled out the form smoothly, naming the category: Entertainment Production.
She entered her personal details.
Ownership: Sole Proprietorship.
Nature of Business: Content creation, screenwriting, digital media services.
The cursor blinked beside the final option.
She filled in the business name.
Then hit Register.
Approved.
Lilith leaned back, eyes glinting with a satisfied smirk.
Let them say she was only a secretary.
Let them whisper she wasn’t worthy of standing beside him.
She had ruled entire worlds before, held throne under her feet, and now it’s time again—this time not to rule with sword, but with signature.
This time, she’ll make world remember her name.

She called out, “Sir Sparkleton!”
Sir Sparkleton rolled in quickly, his small eyes blinking fast. “MISS LILITH! YOU CALLED ME?” he said excitedly.
“Yeah…” she said, adjusting her sleeves calmly. “From now on, you’re hired as my personal assistant for my business.”
Sparkleton paused.
Then—
“OH MY GOODNESS! I GOT JOB! I AM EMPLOYED! FINALLY!” he said and spun in excitement, his arms opening wide as he almost knocked into table.
Lilith nodded. She didn’t have much capital to hire human staff yet. But this robot had watched her life, guarded her privacy, and stayed loyal since day one. That’s enough.
“You’re not allowed to mess up,” she said with calm face.
“I PROMISE! I WILL BE PROFESSIONAL! I WILL CALL YOU BOSS!”
Lilith smirked faintly.

At the same time, inside the luxurious grand mansion, Tara sat nervously on the fancy cream sofa, wearing a white dress that Ethan told her to wear. She looked really pretty, with her hair brushed neatly, and hands folded on her lap like a proper daughter-in-law.
Ethan sat beside her, wearing a plain white shirt and black trousers, looking like he was going to some simple office meeting, not introducing his wife to his parents.
Across from them sat his parents–Amelia, who looked like a classy rich madam with sharp eyes, and Mateo, who was sipping tea quietly like this wasn’t going to explode in two seconds.
“…So you married… just like that?!” Amelia asked slowly, blinking in disbelief.
She looked between Ethan and Tara as if her brain still hadn’t accepted the data.
Tara gave a small nervous smile and lowered her eyes politely.
Meanwhile Amelia’s eyes twitched.
She had been preparing twelve blind dates for Ethan! Had spoken to daughters of ministers, doctors, CEOs—even an actress! All her effort down the drain! And this guy… didn’t even tell her until today?!
“Then why are you telling me now?!” Amelia shouted, standing up in full drama.
“…Surprise?” Ethan said weakly, with a crooked smile and slightly panicked eyes.
“Do you want a slipper?!” Amelia shouted, picking up the nearest cushion instead.
Mateo finally looked up, “Amelia, sit down—”
“Shut up, Mateo! Don’t stop me today!”
Ethan leaned closer to Tara and whispered, “Don’t worry, she yells like this at everyone…”
Tara blinked.
“…even the maid?”
“No. Just me.”
Tara: “…”
Seeing this was really her daughter in law, and not just some prank, Amelia controlled her rising anger. She narrowed her eyes at Ethan mentally marking him for later punishment and then looked at Tara with a completely different expression.
Gone was the dramatic shouting. Now her face became cold, voice low and sharp.
She sat down slowly, crossed her legs with elegance, and picked up her cup of tea like she was judging someone in a royal court.
“So…” she said, not smiling even a little.
“What’s your name?”
Her tone was flat.
The kind that made Tara sit up straighter instantly.
Tara looked at Ethan for help but that useless man was already fake-smiling at the chandelier, pretending everything was peaceful.
“I… I’m Tara,” she said politely, folding her hands in lap again.
Amelia stared at her.
She said nothing.
Just sipped her tea and nodded once, very slightly.
And that silence was so loud, Tara could hear her own heartbeat.
Mateo whispered from the side, “Tara’s a pretty name—”
Amelia gave him one look.
Mateo immediately found his teacup more interesting.
Tara swallowed and smiled nervously again.
Ethan leaned to her and whispered under his breath, “Just nod and smile. You’re doing great.”
Tara stared straight ahead, praying the ground would open and eat her.
“…What is your hobby interest?” Amelia asked, placing her cup down gently.
The room felt colder suddenly, even though the AC was already running.
Tara straightened up, wiping her palms on her dress secretly.
“I… like to read,” she said carefully, smiling a little. “And sometimes… I draw.”
Amelia tilted her head slightly.
“Draw what?” she asked.
“Uhh… mostly nature. And… people,” Tara replied, her voice getting smaller.
Amelia tapped her finger lightly on the table.
“What’s your education?” Amelia asked next, her eyes narrowing slightly as she looked at Tara from top to bottom.
Tara sat straighter, hands nervously folded in her lap. Her voice was soft, but steady.
“…I’m a school graduate,” she said quietly. “I want to study further.”
Amelia raised her brows. “Further?” she asked, tone unreadable.
Tara nodded. Her eyes didn’t look away.
“I want to become a doctor.”
There was a pause.
Even Ethan looked at her in surprise. He turned slowly, eyebrows raised.
“You never told me that…”
Tara smiled a little. “You never asked.”
Ethan blinked. Fair point.
Amelia leaned back in her chair, arms crossed.
Her expression changed but very subtly. Not smiling but not cold either.
“Doctor, hmm…” she said slowly.
There was no sarcasm in her voice. Only quiet calculation, like she was thinking. Studying.
