Devilish secretary - Chapter 31
Chapter 31: Chapter 31 Break up Chapter 31: Chapter 31 Break up After office hours, Kelly nervously glanced around as she followed Ana to the parking lot.
“I’m scared, Ana,” she whispered, looking over her shoulder as if someone might overhear.
Ana rolled her eyes, her lips curving into a smug smile.
“What’s there to be scared of?
My daddy’s an investor here.
He’ll take care of everything,” she said, sliding into her flashy car with an air of confidence.
Kelly bit her lip, still feeling uneasy.
“Still…” “Don’t be silly,” Ana said dismissively.
“My daddy will handle it.” She flipped her hair and revved the engine, brushing off Kelly’s concerns as they sped out of the lot.
— Meanwhile, back at the office, the building was quiet and nearly empty.
Sebastian sat alone in his office, staring at the monitor.
The doctor had just left, and Assistant Quinn had briefed him on the incident with Lilith’s presentation.
Sebastian’s eyes narrowed as he opened the security footage from his hidden cameras-state-of-the-art technology, capturing even sound.
His expression grew colder as he watched Ana and Kelly sneaking around Lilith’s workstation.
The camera captured their whispered conversation as they plotted to delete the files.
Lilith’s calm entrance into the scene played next.
She had exchanged a few quiet words with the girls before stepping away, leaving them looking relaxed and smug as they resumed their tampering.
Sebastian’s voice cut through the silence like ice.
“Who are they?” Quinn straightened.
“Sir, the first girl is Miss Ana Wilson, daughter of Mr.
Jack Wilson, one of our smaller investors.
The other is Kelly from accounting.” Sebastian’s expression darkened, his jaw tightening.
“So Jack Wilson’s daughter thinks she’s above the rules?” Quinn shifted, sensing the tension.
“But sir, I don’t understand.
Why would they target Miss Lilith?
Unless… they’re spies from a rival company?” Sebastian’s gaze remained fixed on the screen, but his eyes grew colder with each passing second.
“Perhaps.
Or maybe they’re simply foolish.” His tone was dangerously low.
“Either way, they’re about to learn that even the best connections won’t protect them from the consequences.” Quinn nodded, a hint of satisfaction in his smile.
“Understood, sir.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Shall I inform security to start monitoring them closely?” Sebastian shook his head.
“Not yet.
Let them think they’re safe.
But start gathering everything we have on Wilson’s investments and connections.
And see if Kelly has ties to anyone suspicious in accounting.” As Quinn left, Sebastian’s gaze lingered on the screen, watching Ana’s arrogant ‘My daddy will handle it if anything comes up….’ His fingers drummed against his desk as he murmured, “Let’s see if Daddy can protect you from this.” *** Rayan sat in the cell, his arms crossed, a smug smile on his face as he thought about how this little incident would soon be handled.
After all, his father and grandfather had always fixed his problems before, and he doubted this would be any different.
Being locked up didn’t bother him; what really concerned him was how he could stay on Lilith’s good side.
She was, after all, his fiancée, and marrying her came with perks he couldn’t ignore.
Lilith wasn’t just a pretty face-she had intelligence, beauty, and a strong presence.
Marrying her would open doors he’d always dreamed of.
And as he thought about the benefits, he couldn’t help feeling a surge of jealousy at the idea of anyone else gaining her attention.
He’d have to secure her as his wife soon.
That way, he’d not only earn all the privileges but also keep her away from anyone else.
As for Lia, his angel, he smiled slyly to himself.
Lilith could be his proper wife, with all the advantages that brought, but Lia… Lia could always be his secret.
After all, what harm could it bring?
Sure enough, he was out on bail, but his relief vanished the moment he realized Lia was still inside the cell.
Standing outside the police station, near his dad’s luxurious car, Rayan’s expression turned dark.
“Dad… why did you only bail me out?” His voice was tense, eyes narrowing as he faced his father.
Oliver’s face was cold, hard.
“Why should I bail her out?” he replied, his tone sharp.
“I’m not related to her.
Why would I do that?” “Dad, please!” Rayan’s voice cracked as he tried to keep calm.
“You know I love Lia.
I can’t stand to leave her in there…” Oliver’s gaze didn’t soften one bit.
“Then I have one condition.” Rayan’s heart sank, dread creeping in.
“Yes… Dad?” He already had a bad feeling.
“You have to break up everything with her.” Rayan’s breath hitched, his heart sinking further as his father’s words echoed in his mind.
“Break up with her?” He barely managed to get the words out, as if saying them made them even more real.
Oliver’s expression remained steely.
“Yes.
I’ve let you get away with a lot, Rayan, but Lia?” He shook his head, his eyes hard.
“She’s nothing but trouble.
She’s the reason you ended up in jail, and I won’t stand by and let her ruin your life.” “But, Dad…” Rayan’s voice was almost pleading, desperation flashing in his eyes.
“You don’t know her like I do.
Lia isn’t trouble, she’s… she’s everything to me.
She’s just misunderstood..
it’s all mine plan” “Misunderstood?” Oliver’s laugh was sharp, cutting.
“You’re young, Rayan.
You think love is all that matters, but love doesn’t pay the bills.
Love doesn’t keep you out of jail.
You can’t build a future with someone like her.” His tone softened, but only slightly.
“I’m doing this for you.
One day, you’ll thank me.” Rayan clenched his fists, his mind racing.
He wanted to argue, to shout, to tell his father he was wrong.
But he knew that look in Oliver’s eyes, that finality.
His dad wasn’t going to budge.
“Fine,” he muttered, looking away, his voice strained with anger and defeat.
“I’ll… I’ll break up with her.” He could barely get the words out, hating himself for saying them.
The thought of losing Lia was unbearable, but if it was the only way to keep her out of more trouble, maybe he didn’t have a choice.
Oliver’s expression softened just a bit, his hand reaching out to rest on Rayan’s shoulder.
“You’re doing the right thing.
You’ll see that soon enough.” But as they climbed into the car and drove away, Rayan couldn’t shake the hollow ache in his chest….
