Devilish secretary - Chapter 310
Chapter 310: Chapter 310 Playing Victim
Lilith slowly raised her head and there they were.
Lia.
Wearing soft peach tones, one hand over her belly like the world needed to be reminded of her pregnancy. Standing beside her was a woman Lilith didn’t know—tall, striking, with long Balck hair and beautiful features. Her makeup was flawless, her dress designer. Her entire presence screamed “I’m someone important.”
Their eyes met for a second.
And Lia, like a perfectly rehearsed actress, gave a small smile and turned to her companion.
“Did you see that woman in black?” she asked softly, her voice all sweetness. “She was my friend once. Can we go greet her?”
The other woman, Sofia, frowned slightly, her sharp eyes scanning Lilith from head to toe.
“Are you sure she’s your friend, Lia?” Sofia asked, her voice smooth but firm. “You’re pregnant, and she hasn’t visited you once. That doesn’t sound like someone who cares.”
Lia’s eyes shimmered faintly. “Maybe she was just busy,” she said gently, like someone who forgives too easily.
Sofia didn’t buy it.
“I think you’re too kind,” she said flatly. “If she really cared, she would’ve been there for you.”
Lilith could hear it all. They weren’t exactly whispering.
She didn’t react.
She simply lowered her gaze again and continued texting Alexander.
Lia and Sofia walked toward her, slow and purposeful like a performance had just begun. Lilith stayed seated, calm, her posture relaxed, phone resting lightly in her lap.
“Lili! How are you?” Lia cried out, her voice trembling, already thick with emotion. She didn’t wait for a response. “I know you’re angry with me… because Rayan loved me,” she whispered, voice shaking just enough for people nearby to turn their heads. “But I couldn’t do anything… I swear… I loved him before you. If I knew you were going to be his fiancée… I never would’ve…”
Her voice cracked. And then, like she practiced it, she began to hiccup.
“I left Rayan for you,” she sobbed, pressing her hand to her chest. “Everyone fixed your engagement… and you… you left him. You abandoned him. And I—” Her voice broke louder now. “I’m pregnant with his child! I can’t give him away now… I can’t…”
The way she cried, loudly, her hiccups growing, her voice rising. it was clear she wanted attention. Her words had painted herself as the sacrificial angel. The girl who “gave up” love. The innocent woman now carrying a child. And the villain in her story was Lilith.
People had begun to glance their way. Whispers spread quietly. Some eyes were sympathetic. Some judgmental.
Lilith didn’t move.
She slowly closed her phone and placed it in her bag. Then she stood up–graceful, unrushed. Her eyes met Lia’s watery ones without a flicker of emotion.
She tilted her head slightly.
And with the softest voice that only Lia and Sofia could hear, she said:
“If this was your attempt to shake me… darling, you should’ve cried louder.”
Then she smiled. Just a little. The kind of smile that chilled the air around them.
And walked away to find a quieter corner.
Lia stood there like a wilting flower, her tear-streaked face lowered, hands gently placed on her belly as if shielding the child from the cruelty of the world. Her sobs had quieted into soft hiccups, but the damage was already done. A few girls nearby had pulled out their phones, pretending to scroll but the camera lens was aimed at her. Exactly as she hoped.
She didn’t stop them. In fact, she leaned a little into the light, her shoulders trembling just enough. The raw, “accidental” footage would soon hit social media—the tragic, heartbroken pregnant actress who ran into her cold former friend during an audition.
In the past few weeks, Lia had seen her fame begin to dim. Her pregnancy limited her work, her casting offers slowed down, and the directors who once called her daily began replacing her with younger, trendier faces.

But now… this would change things. Public sympathy could keep her name floating, maybe even land her in interviews again.
And as for Lilith? Lia didn’t think twice.
She truly believed Lilith couldn’t act. She had no presence, no expressive spark. Just a calm, cold, emotionless exterior—more like a nun than a star. How could someone like that rise in the entertainment industry? People didn’t like women who were silent.
They liked the ones who bled feelings on screen. Lilith was nothing more than a boring beauty with a sharp tongue.
Lia smiled softly, wiping her tears in slow motion for the invisible cameras.
She had played her role well today.
And she was sure…
Lilith wouldn’t survive the spotlight.
“Don’t cry, Lia,” Sofia said softly, draping an arm around her as if to shield her from the cruel world. Her voice was firm, eyes narrowed as she glanced in the direction Lilith had walked. “You don’t need to maintain friendships with people who are fake with you. That kind of person is cold, arrogant, distant. They’ll only climb by stepping over others.” Her tone was righteous, perfectly timed for the few girls around them who were already leaning in to listen. “The world is full of selfish people. But if you’re this kind, Lia, you’ll be left behind.”
Lia lowered her eyes, her bottom lip trembling slightly as she nodded, curling into Sofia’s protective touch like the fragile girl everyone believed her to be.
“You’re right,” Lia whispered with a soft, pitiful smile.
Around them, a few of the other audition girls nodded too.
Sympathy spread like perfume–subtle, intoxicating, and utterly manipulative. In their eyes, Lilith was already the cold-hearted one. The girl who walked away from an emotional friend. The woman who didn’t even react at the sound of tears. The selfish one.
And Sofia, feeling she had done her good deed for the day, didn’t notice the flicker in Lia’s eyes.
Didn’t notice how Lia bit her inner cheek hard enough to taste the faintest hint of blood.
Didn’t see the way she lowered her eyes, not out of shame but amusement.
Because when Sofia turned to glance elsewhere, just for a second, Lia’s expression shifted.
Her eyes glinted darkly, and she whispered under her breath:
“Yeah… someone shouldn’t be that kind.”
Her voice was sweet. Hollow.
