Chapter 316: Chapter 316 I believe we’re both interested in the same woman
She had already calculated the mutual profit split and structured her legal backing. And if Mr. Hons ever tried to pull a fast one or cross her…

She’d make sure he was eating instant noodles in a tin can office by next quarter.

She leaned back, satisfied with her own backup plan, and finally stretched her arms, bones cracking from sitting too long.

Then her phone buzzed.

Human doll ♡: A woman just tried to seduce me.

Lilith froze.

Her smile dropped. Her soft, calm features tensed.

Her aura changed instantly. From warm to deadly. From casual to ice.

Her entire aura snapped sharp, like the moment a predator notices a challenge.

Sir Sparkleton peeked into the room, holding a tray. “MISS LILITH, I HAVE PREPARED TEA FOR YOUR STRESS—OH NO.”

He backed up immediately, tray rattling.

Because her eyes were glowing that cold glint again.

Lilith picked up the phone slowly, like it was the source of all sin, and typed with fingers that might as well have been daggers.

Lilith: Do you need a leash or a lobotomy?

Lilith: Because I can arrange both.

Her phone buzzed again a second later.

But this time… she didn’t check it right away.

**

Lilith was still fuming, ready to ignore him for the next two hours minimum. Her phone buzzed again.

She glanced at it once.

Then blinked.

Human doll ♡:

What’s my fault, baby? That I’m too much handsome.

+1 Photo

She hesitated.

Her thumb hovered.

Don’t open it, she told herself. He wants a reaction. Don’t give it.

She tapped anyway.

And regretted it instantly.

In the photo, he was sitting in the back seat of his luxurious black car, one arm resting casually on the door, dark shirt hugging his frame just right. His collar was slightly loose, exposing the perfect amount of neck. He wasn’t even smiling dangerously. just staring into the camera like he owned every heartbeat on Earth.

Lilith’s fingers twitched.

Her jaw clenched.

Why was he like this?

Why did his face look like it belonged in a luxury perfume ad?

And why the hell did her heart skip a beat instead of just scrolling past?

Sir Sparkleton peeked from the door. “MISS LILITH, ARE YOU EXPERIENCING HIGH TEMPERATURES?”

Lilith hissed. “Silence.”

He beeped quietly and backed off.

She opened her keyboard and typed:

Lilith: You’re right.

There was a pause.

Human doll ♡: Hmm? Right about what?

Lilith: It *is* your fault.

Human doll ♡: For being handsome?

Lilith:

No.

For making me consider strangling you *and* kissing you in the same breath.

She hit send and tossed the phone on the couch.

Then immediately picked it back up.

Because she already knew the idiot was typing.

Human doll ♡:

If you kiss me and strangle me, I’ll be able to die happily.

She blinked.

“…This man.”

Her fingers moved fast.

Lilith:

I’m not going to kiss you.

But Sir Sparkleton is.

There was a pause. A long one.

Then the reply came in like a scream.

Human doll ♡:

???

Are you gone nuts.

Lilith smirked to herself. Then raised her voice, calling lazily toward the door:

“Sir Sparkleton?”

His voice echoed from outside, loud and loyal.

“YES, MISS LILITH!”

“Bring your mint lip balm. Your services are required.”

She turned back to her phone.

Lilith:

Prepare to be chased by a robotic butler with minty lips.

Silence.

A full minute passed.

Then—

Human doll ♡:

I am deleting my existence.

Tell Sir Sparkleton to back off.

And tell your lips… I’ll be claiming them soon.

Lilith’s foot twitched off the bed.

***

Three days later…

Darkness wasn’t sure why Asher suddenly wanted to meet him again. Honestly, he didn’t mind–after all, the guy did help him to deal with Nyom brown. That, and Asher was too clueless to be annoying.

“You called me?” Darkness asked as he walked into the quiet rooftop café Asher had booked, hands in his pockets, expression unreadable.

“Hello, bro—” Asher grinned like he’d just won the lottery. “I learned few English for you!” he declared proudly.

Darkness just gave him a slow, deep smile, the kind that made most people rethink their choices. “Great. Man.”

“Haha,” Asher laughed, scratching the back of his head like a kid caught lying. “You know, I called you here for some reason?”

His English was still hilariously broken, but there was effort. That’s what made it bearable.

“Go ahead,” Darkness replied, checking the time. It had been three days since he’d last talked to Lilith—who had seemingly entered her ‘unreachable’ arc. Sir Sparkleton, of course, being the professional informant he was, sent regular updates about her schedule, moods, outfits, and even snack preferences.

And that’s when Asher said it—

“Your girlfriend is our—”

The moment the words slipped out of his mouth, Darkness’s face changed. Instantly. It was like watching a storm gather in slow motion.

His eyes turned cold. His fist clenched. That one phrase—your girlfriend is our…—was enough to split the sky.

“What did you just say?” he asked in a tone so sharp, it could slice skin.

Asher froze. “I mean I didn’t mean—I mean I just—”

Before his brain could catch up with his mouth, the café door flew open and someone rushed in, yanking Asher backward by his collar like a misbehaving dog.

“I apologize on his behalf,” the newcomer said smoothly, stepping between them with calm authority. “He didn’t mean to offend.”

The man had striking green eyes, the kind that held both danger and elegance. Midnight-dark hair, a chiseled jaw, and an expensive aura that could only be born, not built.

He looked Darkness in the eye without flinching.

“My name is Strom,” he said. “And I believe we both have something in common.”

Darkness narrowed his gaze. “You’ve got three seconds to explain before I stop listening.”

Strom’s lips curled into the faintest teasing smirk.

“I believe we’re both interested in the same woman.”

Darkness’s expression turned terrifyingly cold. His jaw tightened, his voice dropped low and dangerous, and the temperature around him seemed to fall a few degrees.

“Lilith is mine,” he said, enunciating each word like a final sentence. “She already accepted my proposal for marriage. There’s no way in hell some stranger pops out of nowhere claiming a connection.”
