Chapter 319: Chapter 319 His birthday surprise
She had half a day in City Z, and the moment her boots hit the pavement, Lilith didn’t stop moving.

Wrapped in a thick sweater that barely kept out the bite of the cold, she spent the entire day running around checking places, making calls, confirming details. The sky stayed a dull grey, the air foggy and sharp, but she didn’t pause to rest. Her hands were cold, her cheeks red from the wind, and her head still ached faintly from the flight, but none of that mattered.

Every step she took was for one reason only.

A quiet smile played on her lips whenever she imagined his face, how he might react, what he would say.

And though she didn’t bring Sir Sparkleton this time knowing full well he’d report everything, she could still feel his imaginary voice in her ear.

“Miss Lilith, your body isn’t made for chasing cold winds and chaos!”

She shook her head and adjusted her bag on her shoulder, pressing her phone to her ear as she tried to reach someone. Her breath came out in white clouds, fingers chilled despite the gloves.

That’s when a voice rang out behind her.

“Hey!”

She turned, raising one brow.

A guy in a thick, trendy jacket walked up with a smug grin. He had a pretty face, clearly aware of it—his hair perfectly styled, jawline sharp, and phone peeking out of his friend’s hand behind him, recording.

Two more guys joined, one holding a mic, the other pretending to be casual. It was obvious they were trying to film a reaction video.

“Hi, we’re running a fun poll for couples’ day!” the first guy said smoothly. “If you had to choose between me and him—” he pointed to the second guy, who was tall, wearing a beige coat and smiling like a wannabe K-drama lead, “—who would you make your boyfriend?”

His friend behind the camera chuckled, already zooming in for drama.

Lilith blinked, then slowly lowered her phone.

She looked at Guy 1. Then Guy 2. Then at the camera. And finally, she smiled Coldy.

“Hmm,” she said thoughtfully, “If I had to choose between a clown and another clown… I’d probably just go to the circus instead.”

Both guys froze.

She gave a polite nod. “Good luck with your content,” she added before turning away, pulling her coat tighter.

The camera guy chuckled awkwardly.

Guy 1 scratched the back of his head, still chuckling.

“Although I’m embarrassed… I think people will love this,” he said, looking into the camera with a sheepish grin.

“Yeah,” Guy 2 nodded, still recovering from the burn. “She totally roasted us but like, gracefully.”

They both turned to watch Lilith’s retreating figure disappear into the fog, her steps confident, her coat swaying with every step like she owned the street.

“…Should we follow her?”

“Nah,” Guy 1 sighed, shaking his head.

11:03 PM

Lilith stopped the car quietly near his hotel room, parking under the soft glow of a dim streetlight. The night was cold, wrapped in a blanket of fog, and not a soul was around to witness what she was about to do.

She stepped out, wearing gorgeous clothes—a long coat over a stylish white sweater that hugged her figure. Her makeup was minimal, just enough to highlight her natural elegance. Her breath formed little clouds in the air as she opened the trunk and quickly began setting up her first surprise. Her fingers were freezing, but her heart was warm, fluttering with anticipation.

The clock ticked by, and the wind grew colder. She glanced at her phone.

11:58 PM.

She dialed.

The phone rang once, twice, before a familiar voice answered.

“Lili?” It was Alexander. His voice sounded tired, eyes likely strained after hours of work.

“Come out to the balcony,” Lilith said softly, then hung up without waiting for his reply.

Upstairs, Alexander blinked, confused. He stood up from the couch, walked to the balcony in his dark sweater, and opened the sliding glass door, stepping into the cold air.

And there down below in the quiet street stood Lilith.

Wrapped in white, glowing under the foggy midnight sky like a dream stepped out of his thoughts. Her face turned up to him, lips curled into a small secret smile.

Then, in the distance, the city clock tower began to chime—

Twelve sharp.

His birthday had just begun.

And she was here.

And then—

His eyes widened.

Like a child witnessing magic for the first time.

Down below, in the middle of the snowy street, stood Lilith. Her face tilted up toward him, her white coat catching the glow of streetlights like moonlight on silk. But what made his heart jolt—

Was what she was holding.

A small remote.

Click.

The snow suddenly shimmered—

tiny golden lights burst to life across the white surface.

And there it was, written with care and glowing against the snow:

“Happy Birthday, Human Doll ♡”

The words sparkled in soft golden lights, wrapped around by little stars she’d arranged. The fog curled around them like breathless applause.

Alexander didn’t speak.

He just stood there, frozen, a hand slowly covering his lips as his chest tightened. No one… no one had ever done something like this for him.

As the golden lights still glimmered in the snow behind her, Lilith’s phone glowed softly in her hand. She called him again.

He picked up immediately.

“Come down,” she whispered, her voice low and beautiful soft like a song meant only for him.

On the other end, Alexander didn’t speak. He was already moving.

He didn’t bother to change out of his dark sweater or put on a coat. He just threw on his slippers and rushed down the stairs like a man chasing a dream.

And when he saw her standing there beneath the glowing words, arms at her sides, breath misting in the winter air, eyes holding back something deep—

He didn’t stop.

He walked right up, pulled her close with urgent need, and wrapped his arms around her.

Without hesitation, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

A quiet, reverent kiss.

Lilith blinked, surprised for a second and then smiled.

Not her usual sharp smirk. Not her usual confident grin.

But a gentle, radiant smile… the kind a woman gives only when she’s exactly where she wants to be.

And in that cold, glowing street, nothing else existed.

Just her and her human doll wrapped in winter, lights, and a warmth that needed no words.
