Devilish secretary - Chapter 41
Chapter 41: Chapter 41 She didn€™t care Chapter 41: Chapter 41 She didn€™t care “Come on, Miss Mystery, I told you not to worry,” he replied with a wink, his playful smile never fading.
“Now, give me my kiss for giving you the beautiful experience of dancing with the great Sebastian Carter,” he said, leaning closer with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Lilith rolled her eyes, but as he leaned in closer, she quickly pushed him away.
“Did you just roll your eyes at me?” Sebastian placed his hand dramatically on his chest, faking hurt.
Lilith ignored him, her gaze fixed elsewhere, but then, without warning, he leaned in and unexpectedly, pressed a soft kiss to her cheek.
“Muaa.” Lilith froze, her eyes wide with shock.
No one had ever kissed her before, not even on the cheek.
The warmth of his lips lingered on her skin, and for a brief moment, she could still feel the touch as though it was etched into her.
When she turned to look at him, however, his eyes had shifted.
The playfulness was gone, replaced by a chilling coldness.
Sebastian Alexander, who was always in control, sat frozen in disbelief.
His mind raced.
How did I just kiss Miss Lilith?
His business partner was just in front of him moments ago.
He had been fully engaged in a conversation, yet somehow, he had ended up kissing her.
The sudden realization made him tense, and he cleared his throat, trying to hide the confusion brewing within.
But Lilith, still in shock, had already pulled back, keeping her gaze cold and unreadable.
Suddenly, realization hit Sebastian like a cold wave.
It must be Ray.
His mind raced as he pieced everything together.
Ray had taken over his body again, just like he always did whenever he felt like it.
And they couldn’t stop him-no matter how hard they tried.
Sebastian clenched his jaw in frustration.
Ray is so damn annoying.
Not only had he taken control of his body without permission, but now he had the audacity to kiss Miss Lilith.
For God’s sake, she’s my employee!
The thought made his blood boil.
He glared at nothing in particular, the anger bubbling inside him.
How dare Ray do this?
But he knew it wasn’t just the act itself that pissed him off.

It was the fact that it happened with Lilith, the one person he had started to feel something for-something complicated, something he wasn’t ready to admit.
Sebastian turned away sharply, his expression dark.
This mess is getting out of hand.
“Miss Lilith-” Sebastian began, his tone hesitant.
He didn’t want her to get the wrong idea because of Ray’s small act.
He was about to clear the line between them when he saw her face.
He saw her cold, unreadable expression.
She was smiling, but it wasn’t the kind of smile that invited warmth.
It was distant, controlled.
“I know you’re drunk, and tipsy,” Lilith said, her voice calm and even.
She didn’t even look back as she turned to walk away.
Sebastian froze.
He stared at her retreating figure, his mind struggling to process what had just happened.
No woman had ever ignored him like this before.
He was used to people hanging onto his every word, craving his attention.
But Lilith… she was different.
Her indifference felt like a sharp slap to his pride.
She didn’t care.
And for some reason, that stung more than he expected.
However, Sebastian suddenly realized that Miss Lilith didn’t know anyone here.
But why should he feel worried for her?
She was an employee of his company, and for her well-being, he didn’t need to do anything more.
It was her responsibility to take care of herself.
Still, he found himself following her through the crowd, and when she vanished from sight, he frowned.
Just then, he overheard a conversation.
“Did you see that stunning woman in black?
She’s new.
I saw Mr.
Jones following her.
He might have taken an interest in her?” Sebastian froze.
Interest in her?
Sebastian quickly approached the two men, his cold gaze cutting through the crowd.
The soft background music seemed to fade away as the tension around him grew.
“Where is she?” he asked, his voice low and chilling, a dangerous edge to it.
The middle-aged man, who had been speaking, shivered at the tone, his words stumbling.
“Who-who, Mr.
Carter?” “The one you’re talking about,” Sebastian replied, his voice now more dangerous, his presence enough to make the man gulp in fear.
The man quickly pointed to the left, his face pale.
“She…
she left that way…” Sebastian’s eyes narrowed as he gave the man one last look, silently marking his face in his memory.
He’ll deal with him later.
For now, all that mattered was finding Miss Lilith before anyone else got too close to her.
Without another word, he turned and marched off toward where the man had pointed, the music in the background barely reaching his ears as his focus sharpened.
He noticed a back door to the garden on his left.
Without thinking, he opened it and stepped outside.
A cool breeze immediately hit his face, messing up his hair.
Light rain began to fall, the first of the season.
The fresh smell of earth mixed with the scent of flowers and plants in the air.
The garden stretched out in front of him, full of trees swaying in the wind and colorful flowers along the edges.
His hair got damp, but he didn’t mind.
He was focused on finding her.
As the rain grew heavier, he walked deeper into the garden, his mind racing.
The peacefulness around him only made the confusion inside him worse.
He had to find her.
Where could she be?
The garden was empty, with no one around, the sound of rain pattering on the leaves the only noise breaking the stillness.
Everyone was busy inside, so it was silent and still.
“Miss Lilith,” he hesitated for a moment before shouting her name, but no one answered.
His heart began to race, and a sense of worry crept in.
What if something had happened?
His pulse quickened as he scanned the garden again, anxiety taking root.
Why did he care so much?
It was just his employee, after all.
