Devilish secretary - Chapter 63
Chapter 63: Chapter 63 Rose secret Chapter 63: Chapter 63 Rose secret Sebastian glanced at Nova’s small car with an expressionless face, his sharp eyes showing mild disdain.
“We’re not going in this,” he stated coldly, leaving no room for argument.
Without waiting for a response, he pulled out his phone and made a quick call.
Nova’s face immediately turned sour as he muttered under his breath, “From which angle does my baby look bad?” He glanced at his beloved car and then at Sebastian’s scary, cold face.
But one sharp glare from Sebastian made him gulp and decide to spare himself from the trouble.
Within three minutes, the low hum of an engine caught everyone’s attention.
A sleek, luxurious black car pulled up beside them.
The driver stepped out, opened the door respectfully, and stood aside.
Nova’s sulky expression immediately turned into one of awe, his eyes sparkling like a child seeing candy.
“Whoa… Is that…?” he trailed off, almost drooling at the sight of the car.
Sebastian ignored his reaction, stepping forward with his usual grace.
“Get in,” he said flatly, holding the door for Rose and Lilith.
Rose eagerly jumped into the back seat, taking the far corner by the window.
Since the car was a spacious seven-seater, Rose, Lilith, and Ava comfortably settled on the middle row together, chatting and laughing softly.
Sebastian, however, walked calmly to the back row, his sharp gaze briefly scanning the group before taking his seat.
Nova, unfortunately, had no choice but to sit next to his boss.
The weight of the situation was not lost on him as he shot a pitiful look toward Ava.
Ava, however, simply laughed, her voice ringing with amusement.
“Nova, you look like you’re being sentenced to a year of hard labor!
It’s just the boss!” she teased.
Nova pouted, slumping in his seat.
“I seriously don’t get paid enough for this,” he muttered under his breath, his arms crossed dramatically.
Sebastian, unfazed, glanced at Nova briefly, his expression unreadable, then adjusted the cuffs of his tailored jacket.
His presence alone was enough to make Nova feel small.
Lilith, sitting in the row ahead, turned slightly, her piercing blue eyes observing the interaction.
A small smirk tugged at her lips as she whispered to Rose and Ava, “I think Nova might be regretting all his life choices right now.” Rose giggled.
As the car glided smoothly through the city streets, driven by the quiet and professional chauffeur, Nova leaned slightly toward Sebastian, whispering nervously, “So, uh…
sir…
nice car.” Sebastian’s dark eyes shifted to him, his expression cool.
“It’s functional,” he replied simply, his tone flat, as if the car’s luxury didn’t matter at all.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Nova gulped, feeling as though even small talk was a bad idea.
The rest of the ride was filled with quiet chuckles from the middle row and Nova’s silent prayers to survive the trip.
“By the way, Nova, tell us which movie you booked, and we’ll need to buy tickets for Rose and the boss too once we get there,” Ava said, turning her head toward Nova.
Nova laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck.
“Actually… I don’t know which movie it is.
My friend works there, and he said he’d get us tickets,” he admitted, laughing loudly to cover his nervousness.
However, the car fell silent.
No one laughed back with him.
Sebastian, sitting with a straight posture in the backseat, glanced at him with his usual cold, expressionsless face.
“Which place?” he asked sharply.
Nova didn’t know the exact address, as he was planning to use the map his friend had sent him.
Nova swallowed, feeling a sudden chill.
“Boss… why are you asking?
Don’t tell me you own the theater too,” Nova joked, trying to lighten the mood.
But again, no one laughed.
The air felt heavy, and Nova’s eyes widened when he saw Sebastian nod slightly, confirming the joke.
Ava gasped dramatically.
“Wait, you really own a theater?” Sebastian leaned back slightly, crossing one leg over the other, his face calm and composed.
“Not just one theater.
I own a chain of them,” he replied nonchalantly.
Rose, sitting beside Lilith, clapped her hands excitedly.
“Yes, he does!
And it’s the biggest theater chain in the city!
Brother is so cool, right?” Nova slumped back in his seat, groaning loudly.
“What’s next, boss?
Do you own the entire city too?
Or maybe the air we’re breathing?” Rose giggled, and Ava tried to stifle her laugh, but her shoulders shook.
“Brother, do you?” Rose teased, her eyes wide with mischief.
Sebastian gave Nova a flat stare, his sharp jawline highlighted under the passing streetlights.
“If I did, you wouldn’t be breathing it for free,” he replied.
“I highly doubt if I’m even alive at this moment…” Nova muttered under his breath, slouching further into his seat as though the weight of Sebastian’s presence was crushing him.
Sebastian’s sharp gaze flicked toward Nova, his voice cold and commanding.
“Text your friend.
I want the name of the theater and the movie now.” Nova groaned loudly, clearly feeling defeated, as he fished his phone out of his pocket.
his fingers typing sluggishly over the screen.
He looked like he’d been sentenced to the gallows.
Nova’s phone buzzed, breaking the moment.
“Got it!” he announced dramatically, holding the phone up as if it were a trophy.
“We’re going to Grand Luxe Cinema, and the movie is… oh.” His enthusiasm died instantly.
“What?
What is it?” Ava leaned forward eagerly.
Nova hesitated, his eyes darting nervously toward Sebastian.
“It’s a romance movie.
A very… uh… intense romance movie,” he said, his voice trailing off awkwardly.
Rose clapped her hands excitedly.
“Oh, I love romance movies!
Don’t you, Sister Lilith and Sister Ava?” Lilith shrugged, her expression calm as usual.
“I’m fine with it,” she replied without much reaction.
Ava, however, looked intrigued.
“If it’s romance, it better be good,” she said, grinning.
“I like the drama!” Sebastian, who had been silently observing, suddenly spoke, his voice cool and probing.
“You said you love romance movies?” His sharp eyes narrowed as they settled on Rose, his tone making her shift nervously in her seat.
“Y-yes,” Rose stammered, her excitement faltering slightly.
“Prince charming and princess love stories… so romantic,” she added quickly, her voice a bit too enthusiastic.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, his intense gaze making her squirm.
“That’s interesting,” he said in a low, skeptical tone.
“I don’t remember you being this excited about romance before.” Rose gulped, feeling her brother’s penetrating stare dig deeper.
Does he know?
She thought, panic bubbling inside her.
Does he know about my secret stash of steamy werewolf stories?
Her cheeks turned crimson as her thoughts spiraled, and she laughed nervously.
“Oh, well, um, who doesn’t like a classic love story?” she said, trying to deflect.
Lilith glanced at Rose, her piercing blue eyes flashing with amusement.
“Your idea of romance sounds…
interesting,” she remarked, clearly catching on to Rose’s discomfort.
Ava leaned toward Rose with a curious grin.
“Romance novels too, huh?” she teased, nudging her lightly.
Rose nearly jumped out of her seat.
“N-no!
Nothing like that!” she denied quickly, waving her hands dramatically.
“I just meant the sweet, innocent ones!” Sebastian didn’t say anything further, but the faint quirk of his lips suggested he wasn’t convinced.
His dark, piercing gaze lingered on his sister, making her even more flustered.
“Stop teasing her.
She’s young.
What could she possibly know?” Lilith said, her tone calm but firm as she reached out and rubbed Rose’s head affectionately.
Her piercing blue eyes darted toward the others, silently warning them to back off.
Everyone immediately stopped, sensing the authority in Lilith’s voice.
Ava and Nova exchanged guilty glances, while Sebastian raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
Rose, on the other hand, felt her heart swell with emotion.
Sister Lilith is the best sister in the world!
she thought, her eyes sparkling.
Compared to her devil brother, Lilith felt like an angel.
Rose’s thoughts raced more.
If only Brother knew what I actually read…
those spicy werewolf novels with fated mates and steamy scenes.
She swallowed nervously at the memory of the books she’d devoured late at night, hiding under the covers.
Thank goodness he hasn’t figured it out yet, she thought, shooting a cautious glance at Sebastian, who seemed lost in thought.
Rose decided to play it safe, plastering an innocent expression on her face.
“Thank you, Sister Lilith!
You’re always so nice to me,” she said sweetly, hugging Lilith’s arm.
“Of course,” Lilith said with a small smile, patting Rose’s hand gently.
“Anytime.” After they reached their destination, everyone climbed out of the car, stretching after the ride.
Rose skipped ahead with excitement, clutching Ava’s hand as they walked toward the theater entrance.
Nova trailed behind, yawning dramatically, while Lilith adjusted her jacket, her piercing blue eyes scanning the area out of habit.
Sebastian followed silently, As they entered, he casually pulled out his phone and typed a quick message.
[Sebastian: Have you canceled all the romantic movies?] [Quinn: Yes, boss!
I’ve ensured all movies available are child-friendly.
(Thumbs up emoji)] [Sebastian: Good job.] Sebastian smirked faintly, slipping his phone back into his pocket as he glanced at the group ahead.
Romance movies?
Not on my watch, he thought, his sharp eyes flickering toward Rose, who was bouncing with excitement.
