Devilish secretary - Chapter 72
Chapter 72: Chapter 72 You’re so beautiful Chapter 72: Chapter 72 You’re so beautiful Rose cried as she climbed into the backseat of the car, her small hands wiping at her red, puffy eyes.
She looked at the old driver, her voice trembling as she said, “Driver Uncle, drive me to…” She hesitated for a moment before adding, “Sister Lilith’s address.” The driver knew Lilith’s address because he had previously driven her, Ava and Nova when they went to watch a movie yesterday.
The driver frowned, glancing at her in the rearview mirror.
“But Miss Rose, Sir might get angry if he finds out.” Rose sniffled, her voice firm despite her tear-streaked face.
“No, take me there!
I already told my brother.
Just drop me off at her place, Driver Uncle.” The driver sighed, seeing her red rabbit-like eyes and the way she was clutching her small bag tightly.
He didn’t have the heart to argue.
“Alright, Miss Rose,” he said gently.
“But if Mr.
Sebastian asks, I’ll have to tell him.” “That’s fine,” Rose said softly, trying to steady her voice.
“Don’t worry, my brother knows where I am.” She gave a small nod, though her face was still flushed with emotion.
The car moved steadily through the streets, the silence broken only by Rose’s occasional sniffles.
The driver glanced at her now and then, his heart aching for the young girl.
Whatever had happened must have been truly upsetting to send her running like this.
When they arrived at Lilith’s apartment, the driver hesitated before unlocking the doors.
“Are you sure about this, Miss Rose?” he asked, his voice laced with concern.
Rose nodded, her small face set with determination.
“Yes, Driver Uncle.
I’ll be fine.
Thank you for bringing me here.” She stepped out of the car, clutching her bag tightly as she looked up at the building.
The cool evening breeze brushed against her flushed cheeks, and she took a deep breath to steady herself.
“Take care, Driver Uncle,” she said softly before walking toward the entrance.
The driver watched her go, muttering to himself, “This young miss is braver than most adults..” He shook his head and drove away.
Rose stood in front of Lilith’s door, hesitating for a moment before pressing the doorbell.
Her heart pounded as she waited, unsure of what to expect.
When the door opened, Lilith stood there in her comfortable clothes, looking slightly surprised but calm.
Her piercing blue eyes softened as they took in Rose’s tear-streaked face.
It’s so late-what is Little Rose doing here?
“Sister Lilith…” Rose’s voice broke, and she couldn’t hold back anymore.

She stepped forward and hugged Lilith tightly, her small body trembling.
Lilith blinked in surprise, her hand hovering in the air for a moment before she gently placed it on Rose’s back, patting her comfortingly.
“Little girl?
What happened?” she asked, her voice steady but filled with concern.
Rose sniffled, her words coming out in a rush.
“Grandma… she slapped me, and she said such horrible things.
I didn’t know where else to go.
I-I couldn’t stay there.” Lilith’s expression darkened slightly, though she remained composed.
She gently pulled Rose inside, closing the door behind them.
“You did the right thing coming here,” she said firmly, guiding Rose to the sofa.
“You’re safe now.
No one will hurt you here.” Rose nodded, wiping her tears as she sank into the soft sofa.
Lilith’s face darkened further when her sharp eyes caught the faint red imprint of a slap on Rose’s cheek.
She clenched her fists for a moment but quickly calmed herself, standing up.
Without a word, she went to the kitchen and retrieved some ice cubes, wrapping them in a soft cloth.
Returning to Rose, she knelt in front of her.
“Let me apply this for you,” Lilith said gently, her voice calm but firm.
“It might help with the swelling.” Rose nodded silently, watching as Lilith carefully pressed the ice-wrapped cloth against her cheek.
The coldness stung slightly at first, but Rose found comfort in the quiet care Lilith was showing her.
She gazed at Lilith’s face, taking in her expressionless yet strangely warm expression.
Lilith’s piercing blue eyes, framed by long lashes, seemed to hold so much depth, and her fair skin glowed under the soft light.
Her long dark hair fell loosely around her shoulders, adding to her ethereal beauty.
“Sister,” Rose called softly, almost hesitantly.
“Hmm?” Lilith hummed in response, not looking away from her task.
“Do you have a little brother?” Rose asked dreamily, her gaze still fixed on Lilith’s face.
Lilith raised her brows slightly, her lips twitching with faint amusement.
“No.
Why?” Rose’s lips curved into a cheeky grin.
“Because if you’re so beautiful, how handsome your brother might be…
hehehe,” she said, giggling at her own thoughts.
Lilith blinked in surprise before laughing loudly, her rich, genuine laughter filling the room.
It was a rare sound, and it made Rose’s eyes widen in wonder.
“No, I don’t have a brother,” Lilith replied, still chuckling.
Rose couldn’t help but stare at her.
The way Lilith’s face lit up when she laughed was mesmerizing.
She looked even more stunning, like a glowing goddess who had descended to earth.
“Sister Lilith,” Rose whispered, her voice filled with awe.
“You’re so beautiful.” Lilith paused her laughter, looking at Rose with a faintly puzzled but amused expression.
“Flattery won’t get you out of trouble,” she teased lightly, patting Rose’s little head.
Rose giggled, the warmth in Lilith’s voice and actions soothing her heart.
Lilith sat next to Rose, her expression calm but her piercing blue eyes glinted with a dangerous light.
“Tell me everything,” she said, her voice steady but firm.
Rose, still fuming, crossed her arms and muttered, “That Sienna sh*t…” “Language,” Lilith warned, giving her a sharp look.
Rose pouted, annoyed but obedient.
“Fine.
That Sienna s-” “Rose,” Lilith’s voice held a soft yet undeniable authority, and Rose sighed in frustration.
“Alright, alright,” she relented, but her anger come back up as she continued, “She actually found where I hid my sketchbook.
I love drawing, Sister Lilith, I really do.
I make sketches of faces I like, people I admire.” Her voice wavered as she explained.
“In one of my books, I sketched my favorite male actor…just some sketches, that’s all!” Lilith’s brow furrowed slightly as she listened, a hand resting gently on Rose’s shoulder for comfort.
Rose’s voice cracked as her tears began to fall.
“She must have filled Grandma’s ears, telling her I was wasting my time drawing silly things instead of focusing on those boring etiquette lessons they forced on me.
Grandma scolded me, said I was bringing shame to the family for being so…
‘frivolous.’ Then she slapped me…” Her voice dropped to a whisper as the memory overwhelmed her.
Lilith’s hand moved to pat her back softly.
“It’s okay, Rose,” she said, her tone calm but warm.
“You’re safe here.” Rose sniffled and looked up at her, her big red eyes shining with frustration.
“Sister Lilith, how do I deal with that Sienna shi-” She caught herself under Lilith’s sharp gaze and quickly corrected, “I mean Sienna.” Lilith’s eyes narrowed a little, her calm face hiding the irritation building inside her.
So, creepy human was even troubling this little girl.
How pathetic.
“Don’t worry about Sienna,” Lilith said with a small, dangerous smile that sent shivers down Rose’s spine.
“Leave her to me.” Rose blinked, her tears momentarily forgotten as she stared at Lilith’s face.
There was something reassuring yet terrifying about the way Lilith’s expression softened, only to darken slightly again.
“Really?” However Rose asked, her voice small but hopeful.
Lilith nodded, her hand resting gently on Rose’s head.
“No one gets to hurt my people and walks away unscathed,” She spoke softly, but her words carried a certainty that couldn’t be ignored.
Rose’s eyes lit up hearing Lilith’s words.
She smiled widely, feeling comforted, but her expression turned serious again when Lilith rubbed her head and said, “However, Little Rose, you have to learn how to fight back.
In life, you’ll meet people far worse than Sienna.
You need to be strong enough to deal with them.” Rose pouted, folding her arms.
“But Sienna shi…
I mean Sienna,” she corrected quickly, glancing at Lilith, “she even said my skin is bad because of my pimples.” She pointed to a small blemish near her jawline, her face clouded with insecurity.
Lilith tilted her head slightly, her piercing blue eyes softening.
“It’s okay, Rose.
It happens to every girl when they hit puberty.
Your skin is perfectly normal, and you shouldn’t let anyone make you feel bad about it.” “But… Sister,” Rose said hesitantly, looking at Lilith’s flawless, glowing skin with envy.
“Did you ever have pimples too?” she asked curiously.
Lilith nodded without hesitation.
“Of course,” she replied with a knowing smile.
As a devil with superpowers, she’d never dealt with such issues, but she remembered the original owner struggling with them during her teenage years.”It’s just a phase, Little girl.
What matters is taking care of yourself and not letting anyone’s words affect your confidence.” Rose’s curiosity piqued further.
“Then how did you get your skin to look so perfect?
Do you have a secret potion?” she asked, her eyes sparkling with hope.
Lilith chuckled softly at her naivety.
“There’s no magic involved, just patience and care.
Drink enough water, cleanse your face properly, and don’t touch your pimples.
And if you ever need advice, you know you can ask me anytime.” Rose beamed at her words, feeling inspired.
“Thank you, Sister Lilith!
You’re the best!” she said, hugging her tightly.
Lilith smiled faintly, rubbing Rose’s back gently.
“Always, Little Rose,”
