Devilish secretary - Chapter 75
Chapter 75: Chapter 75 Brother is stingy Chapter 75: Chapter 75 Brother is stingy Sebastian took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of his nose as if trying to gather patience.
“Are you my little sister or Miss Lilith’s sister?” he asked, his voice low and controlled.
Rose, still clinging to Lilith’s arm, answered without hesitation.
“Of course, Sister Lilith’s little sister,” she said sweetly, nuzzling closer to Lilith.
Lilith laughed softly, brushing Rose’s hair with her fingers.
“That means sir is like my brother too, right?” she teased, her eyes flicking toward Sebastian with a playful glint.
Sebastian’s expression darkened instantly.
He shook his head firmly.
“No,” he said, his tone sharp and immediate.
Brother?
Absolutely not.
Rose giggled, pointing at him.
“Brother is stingy,” she pouted dramatically, tilting her head at Lilith as if expecting support.
Sebastian’s gaze narrowed as he sent Rose a warning glare, but the little girl only stuck out her tongue playfully.
Lilith, holding back a laugh, gently tugged on Rose’s cheek.
“Don’t tease your brother too much, Rose.
He might actually leave you here with me forever.” Rose’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
“Really?!
I wouldn’t mind at all!” Sebastian crossed his arms, leaning against the wall as his gaze flicked between Lilith and Rose.
“That’s not happening,” he said coolly.
Lilith smirked at him.
“Why not?
Afraid I’ll raise her better than you?” Sebastian’s lips twitched at her teasing, but he hid it well.
“I doubt that,” he replied smoothly, though his eyes lingered on Lilith a second longer than necessary.
Rose tugged at Lilith’s arm again.
“Sister Lilith, can we watch a movie together?” Lilith glanced at Sebastian, amusement dancing in her piercing blue eyes.
“I don’t mind if sir lets you.” Sebastian sighed, already sensing where this was going.
“Fine.
But just one movie.
And then you’re coming home.” “No promises,” Lilith chimed in, earning a sharp look from Sebastian.

Lilith stretched her arms lazily, brushing her hair behind her ear.
“You two siblings need a little bonding time.
I’ll go check on the pasta,” she said, standing up and leaving the living room to give them privacy.
Rose sat quietly, fiddling with the hem of her hoodie as the room fell silent.
Sebastian stayed on the couch, his long fingers tapping softly against his knee, eyes lowered as if in thought.
Finally, he lifted his gaze, his dark eyes locking onto his little sister.
His voice, usually cold and composed voice, softened.
“I’m sorry, little Rose.” Rose’s wide eyes blinked up at him in surprise.
“Why are you apologizing, brother?” Sebastian leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees as he sighed deeply.
“I should’ve protected you better… from Grandma, from everything.” His jaw tightened slightly.
“I should have known she’d try to control you.” Rose quickly shook her head, leaning closer.
“No!
It’s not your fault.
Grandma’s just…
Grandma.” She tried to smile, but the quiver in her voice betrayed her.
Sebastian’s eyes darkened, his lips pressing into a thin line.
Without another word, he crossed the space between them and pulled Rose into his arms.
His large hand gently cradled the back of her head as he hugged her tightly, pressing his chin against her hair.
“Brother is sorry,” he whispered against her hair, rubbing soft circles on her back.
“I won’t let Grandma control you anymore.
And if Sienna tries to make you feel small… I’ll handle her myself.
Personally.” Rose’s small hands gripped the back of his shirt, and her tears spilled silently onto his shoulder.
“You mean it?” she sniffled, her voice muffled.
“I do,” Sebastian said firmly.
“No one hurts my little sister and gets away with it.” Rose cried harder, burying her face into the safety of his arms.
For the first time in a long while, she felt understood, protected.
From the kitchen, Lilith quietly peeked around the corner, catching sight of the touching scene.
Her heart softened, and a faint smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
Maybe Human Doll wasn’t so bad after all.
Lilith quietly set the table, carefully placing the steaming plates of pasta down.
The aroma filled the room, and she glanced towards the living room where Sebastian was still holding Rose, rubbing her head gently as she sniffled into his chest.
He always looked so cold and emotionless on the outside, but Lilith could see the softness behind.
He was gentle, especially with Rose.
She smiled faintly, watching the rare sight of Sebastian being gentle.
It was strange to see him like this, a far cry from the ruthless CEO everyone feared at the office.
“Pasta is ready,” she called softly, not wanting to interrupt the moment too harshly.
Rose peeked up from Sebastian’s chest, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand.
“Sister Lilith is the best best!” she said, trying to sound cheerful despite the tears in her eyes.
Sebastian gave his little sister one last squeeze before letting go.
“Let’s eat,” he said, his voice lower and calmer than usual.
They moved to the dining table, and Rose immediately sat next to Lilith, pressing into her side like a duckling.
Sebastian took the seat across from them, his dark eyes lingering on Lilith for a moment longer than necessary.
“You spoil her,” Sebastian muttered, watching the way Rose clung to Lilith’s arm as she twirled her fork in the pasta.
“And you don’t?” Lilith raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly.
“You’re just too proud to show it.” Sebastian’s lips pressed into a thin line, but there was no denying the truth in her words.
Rose, happily chewing her pasta, grinned at them both.
“I like it when Sister Lilith spoils me.” Lilith gently poked Rose’s cheek.
“You just like pasta.
Admit it.” Rose giggled, and for a brief moment, the atmosphere lightened.
Sebastian’s fork moved slowly, each bite of the pasta tasting oddly satisfying.
It wasn’t extravagant, just simple home-cooked food, but something about it felt… different.
His dark eyes flickered to Lilith as she ate across from him.
She was calm, as always, moving with that unshakable grace and confidence that seemed to follow her everywhere.
No matter the situation, Lilith never seemed rattled.
He’d seen grown men tremble and sweat in his presence, but she met his gaze without flinching, spoke without hesitation, and held herself like she belonged at every table she sat at.
Sebastian wasn’t sure if it attracted him or annoyed him more.
She twirled her fork lightly, leaning slightly towards Rose, whispering something that made the little girl giggle.
His eyes narrowed slightly.
She could handle his presence… and him.
Too well.
It wasn’t that he wanted people to fear him.
Well, maybe sometimes.
But Lilith didn’t seem to care about the cold aura and sharp gaze he used to keep others at a distance.
She didn’t just tolerate him.
She broke down the walls he had built around his heart.
Sebastian realized he hadn’t looked away for too long when Lilith’s piercing blue eyes suddenly flicked up, locking with his.
One eyebrow raised as she caught him staring.
“Do you need something, sir?” she asked, her voice filled with that familiar teasing tone.
Sebastian’s lips pressed into a thin line.
“No,” he replied, far too quickly.
Her smirk deepened knowingly as if she could see right through him.
“Hmm,” Lilith hummed, tilting her head slightly, clearly amused by his discomfort.
Rose, oblivious to the silent exchange between them, shoveled more pasta into her mouth.
“Brother, this is so good!
You should make Sister Lilith cook for you more often.” Sebastian’s fork paused mid-air.
Lilith, still holding his gaze, chuckled softly.
“I don’t cook for free, Rose.
Your brother would have to pay up.” Sebastian leaned back slightly, folding his arms across his chest.
“I think I’ve paid you enough, Miss Lilith.” Lilith met his stare, unbothered.
“Then maybe next time, I’ll raise my price.” Sebastian’s eyes darkened slightly, his gaze lingering a second too long.
After they finished eating, Lilith began gathering the plates.
Rose jumped up eagerly to help, stacking the plates carefully as she followed Lilith to the kitchen.
“No need to, go and find a movie on my laptop.
Maybe we’ll watch something together,” Lilith said, nudging Rose gently towards the living room.
Rose pouted but nodded.
“Okay!
But I’m picking my favourite movie!” she called over her shoulder as she skipped away.
Lilith smiled faintly, shaking her head as she turned on the sink to wash the dishes.
She had barely started rinsing the first plate when she felt a warm hand cover hers.
The large hand stopped her movements, and the familiar scent of cologne drifted around her.
Lilith froze for a second before glancing over her shoulder.
Sebastian stood behind her, his face calm but his gaze intense.
His dark eyes locked onto hers, and for a brief moment, neither of them said a word.
“I’ll handle it,” he said, his voice smooth but low, almost like a whisper.
Lilith raised an eyebrow, not moving away immediately.
“Since when does the great CEO do dishes?” she teased lightly, though her heart skipped a beat at his sudden closeness.
