Chapter 76: Chapter 76 Pregnancy report?
Lilith raised an eyebrow, not moving away immediately.
“Since when does the great CEO do dishes?” she teased lightly, though her heart skipped a beat at his sudden closeness.
Sebastian met her gaze, his dark eyes narrowing slightly as if daring her to question him further.
“Are CEOs not human?” he replied smoothly, tilting his head.
Lilith’s lips tugged into a soft smirk.
“I didn’t mean that,” she said, her tone playful but calm.
Before she could react, his hand brushed against hers as he gently took the plates from her grasp.
The warmth of his fingers lingered for a second longer than necessary.
“Go sit down,” Sebastian said, his voice softer than usual but still firm.
“I’ll handle this.” Lilith blinked, slightly taken aback.
“You?
Doing dishes?
This I have to see,” she mused, crossing her arms but not making a move to leave.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow.
“Would you rather stay and watch, or trust me to get it done?” Lilith chuckled softly, the sound low and smooth.
“Fine, I’ll leave you to it.
But if I see a single speck left on those plates, I’m taking a photo and sending it to the entire office.” Sebastian’s lips curved into the faintest smirk.
“Deal.
But I don’t plan on giving you any blackmail material.” As Lilith stepped away, she couldn’t help but glance back, catching the rare sight of Sebastian rolling up his sleeves.
His sharp features softened just a little under the kitchen light, and for a moment, the usual icy face seemed to melt.
******* “Ray…” Lia’s voice trembled as she called after Rayan, tears already streaming down her face.
The sun blazed down on him, but he barely felt its warmth.
Rayan leaned back on the sunbed, dark shades covering his tired eyes as he exhaled slowly.
Palm trees swayed above him, and the ocean stretched endlessly in front of him.
He had flown out of the country in shame after engagement.
“We shouldn’t talk, Lia…” His voice was steady, but his grip tightened on the phone.
He fought to control his emotions, swallowing the guilt that came out every time he heard her cry.
“Why, Rayan?” Lia’s voice cracked.

“Was your love for me so small that you could forget me this easily?
You promised me everything… Now you’re hiding behind your family, letting them destroy me.
I had to leave the city because of you!” Rayan closed his eyes behind his sunglasses, guilt gnawing at him.
“Lia, I-” Suddenly, a faint voice echoed through the call.
“Miss Lia, here is your pregnancy report.” The blood drained from Rayan’s face.
“Lia, wait!” He bolted upright, nearly knocking over the glass of whiskey next to him.
His heart pounded so hard he could hear it over the rustling of the waves.
But the line had already gone dead.
Rayan pulled the phone away from his ear, staring at the screen like it had betrayed him.
His jaw clenched, and he immediately dialed her number.
It rang and rang.
No answer.
He ripped the sunglasses off his face, raking a hand through his hair.
Pregnancy report?
His thoughts spun uncontrollably.
Could it really be his child?
It had to be.
But how had things escalated this far without him knowing?
“Damn it,” Rayan muttered under his breath.
**** Sebastian dried his hands with a kitchen towel as he walked into the living room.
His eyes immediately landed on Lilith, sitting alone on the sofa, legs crossed, phone in hand.
The soft glow from the screen reflected on her face, highlighting the faint smirk tugging at her lips.
He glanced around.
“Where’s Rose?
I thought she wanted to watch a movie.” Lilith didn’t look up.
Her fingers moved swiftly over the screen as if whatever she was typing was far more important than acknowledging him.
“She got sleepy, so I let her crash in my room,” she replied casually.
Sebastian’s brows furrowed.
He stepped closer, his gaze narrowing as he watched her tap away.
Sebastian took a deep breath.
His voice came out calm, but tight.
“Where should I sleep?” Lilith’s eyes didn’t leave her phone.
“Of course, the guest room,” she replied, her tone light and indifferent.
He gave a small nod, lips pressing into a thin line.
For a moment, he stood there, debating if he should just leave it at that.
But something about her lack of reaction gnawed at him.
Instead of heading to the guest room, Sebastian walked around the coffee table and sank onto the sofa beside her.
His shoulder brushed lightly against hers, but Lilith didn’t so much as blink.
Her attention stayed glued to the glowing screen, thumb scrolling lazily.
Sebastian leaned back, arms crossing over his chest as he stared at her.
Silence stretched between them, broken only by the faint sound of her typing.
He frowned harder.
Sebastian’s eyes narrowed slightly as he leaned back against the sofa, arms still crossed.
Was he really losing to a phone?
The thought irritated him more than it should have.
Damn it.
He ran a hand through his hair.
What’s wrong with me?
He exhaled slowly, trying to push the ridiculous thoughts aside.
He wasn’t the type to care about trivial things-or at least, he hadn’t been.
But now, sitting next he into that faint smirk as she tapped away, he found himself restless.
Is she not attracted to me?
Or have I actually lost my charm?
His brow twitched.
It was ridiculous.
He knew how women looked at him-how they couldn’t look away.
And yet here she was, treating him like background noise while her phone held center of her attention.
Sebastian shifted slightly closer, his knee brushing against Lilith’s.
She didn’t flinch, didn’t even acknowledge the subtle move.
His pride took another hit.
With a long exhale, he finally broke the silence.
“You’re awfully quiet tonight.” Lilith’s eyes flickered toward him for a brief second before returning to the screen.
“I thought you liked quiet.” Sebastian’s jaw clenched.
“You should show me to my room,” Sebastian said, his voice calm but grumpy.
Lilith glanced at him, her lips curling into a teasing smile.
“Of course, sir,” she chuckled, tucking her phone away.
She led him down the hall, effortlessly slipping into the role of an overly polite hostess.
“Here it is,” she said, pushing open the guest room door.
“Your kingdom for the night.” Sebastian followed silently, but behind her back, his expression twisted into something between irritation and disbelief.
She’s enjoying this too much.
